Skills Expansion

Description
[Currently in-production of Version 2] : Phase 3 and Improvements!]

The original game only allows 30 skills per class between the four classes and not enough diversity of intended styles.

This mod changes all of that as it now allows 52 skills per class (and we eventually seek to increase this to 60 skills).

Respect is given towards the original game balance and class individuality as this does not allow all game skills to be accessed, rather it is an expansion of desired builds that are otherwise not possible without 5 skill trees per class, expanded weapon requirements and added tiers towards passive skills.

One skill tree is shared from other classes similar skills and another tree is a generally accessible selection of useful passives for all class builds.

Overall skill expansion will make new builds a reality within class themed boundaries that were only dreamed of before!

EXPANDED CHOICES:
  • Engineers will now have more Electric options!
  • Berserkers will now have more Ice options!
  • Outlanders will now have more Fire options!
  • Embermages will now have more Poison options!
  • All Classes will now have access to useful boosts!
  • All Builds will now have more viability with reasonable rebalancing!
  • More Weapon Builds will now be possible across all Classes!

If any knowledgeable Modder desires to continue this work then they are more than welcome.

@ Whiffy, @ Gestalt : Indeed I hope the same. I confirm that the mod is still being developed at a slower pace and the Torch Modders Forums or Torch Modders Discord is certainly a place to post your findings to Sch123 who works closely with Doudley on these projects.
And yes, I enjoy unique designs and I like to help any viable projects that fulfill gaps in games. In that sense I absolutely wanted this to be different from the other mods by fixing the original classes weaknesses and playing on their strengths. Thanks for your continued interest!

Phase 2 is already done as far as I know but we will tweak those skills if needed after its re-publish. It will be a new mod to be uploaded by steffire3.

We are at phase 3 now, we lack 3 skills for ember mage that was proposed to be new skills, so it will take time to compose. Currently, we are working on added features for character creation.

How's phase 2 coming along? An across the board skill rebalance plus these mod merges is THE DREAM. Always peeved me how useless or underpowered many skills are for no reason. Thanks for your service to the game's health, folks.

@ danielmratlif21: Multiplayer crashes on startup. Unplayable.
Synergies makes changes to the vanilla skills as does this mod so whichever is on top will take priority.

Can you be more detailed on not 100% synergies compatable? Does it work with most or some synergies features? Does it break the game to the point of unplayability? Is it usable to an extent? What multyplayer issues were reported?

@ Danielmratlif21: It's not 100% compatible with Synergies and there have been reports of Multiplayer issues. In it's current state it's best used in Single Player until a modder can fix it.

@ Kychen: I tested Offensive Mastery on Elite with a level 13 Berserker, a level 28 Embermage, several level 100 characters and I agree that it's powerful early game and by level 25 it appears that foes take at least 3 hits to be destroyed however foes are able to take several hits at "Level 120, NG+5". I will ask "doudley" to change it's unlock level to "42" which should solve the early game power issue. Thanks for reporting! ^_^
