Generic Weapon Names

描述
Do you change weapon models a lot? Does it weird you out to see your G3A3 being called an FAL, your Glock being called an M92F? Well fear not.

Generic Weapon Names gives everything a technically accurate, but adaptable name.
You'll know exactly what weapon you're using, and don't have to suffer the social stigma of it being labelled in a way that is blatantly wrong.

In addition to renaming the weapons, applicable weapon attachments, as well as description fields have been altered to be clear, whimisical, and immune to horrifying anachronism.

If the Mod is not working
Insurgency seems spotty at best when it comes to UI text altering mods. If it isn't working, fear not, I shall now detail how to make this mod work anyways!

  • Go to your steamapps/workshop/content folder
  • From here, go to the folder labelled 222880, this is your insurgency mods
  • Now go into the folder named 928381866, this is my mod
  • Copy "generic weapon names.vpk", and paste it into steamapps\common\insurgency2\insurgency\custom

Alright so i changed my game to ENG and placed the .vpk in custom and... it works!

Oh! Yes, this mod makes changes to the english localization file. If you wanted to do something for french, you'd need to modify the french localization file.

@1v4n94 Sorry didn't see your reply, well my game is in French but it shouldn't break the mod right? (I'm not fully sure of what you've said)

Maybe it's because of a version change of the game since this mod was last updated.

Looks great but it doesn't work for me, even when i take the .vpk and place it in my custom folder... any idea on why it doesn't work?
