Introduction
If you've ever played Strum Mode in Chiptune Champions with a keyboard, you know it's stupid and a pain. If you want to better make use of this mode, the best bet is to use a Guitar Hero controller. To do so, you will need:
  • Joy2Key (available at http://joytokey.net for free)
  • A guitar, obviously. Just about any guitar for any system will do, but if you don't have one at all, they're pretty easy to get a hold of.
  • Whatever adapter you need to use a controller from whichever console the controller you have is for. If you have a USB controller, you can skip this, but otherwise you'll have to buy one. You can find one for PS3 controllers here[www.amazon.com], and one for Xbox 360 controllers here[www.newegg.com].
Setup
Once all that's bought and/or downloaded, sync up the controller and open up Joy2Key. Make a new profile and fiddle around with the guitar's buttons until you can work out which button mapping is which, then double click each. Set them to the correct notes/strum, and hit OK. Don't forget to set both strum inputs to your strum key. If you did everything right, you should now be able to use the guitar in-game! Enjoy having your hands cramp on all those buttons.

Hi, this game is probably not relevant anymore. But I have created a Steam Input layout for Xbox 360 guitars. Hope someone finds it useful.
