Who am I
I am a twitch streamer on DD2, I often do carries for viewers on my stream to help out the community and teach them more about the game.
I also answer questions if any are asked!

What is the guide about
I felt like I would make a guide on how to get carried without ruining the run. This seems like a common problem I have in my carry games. Some of the things that can ruin the games are things like the following: Assassins killing cores, Siege roller destroying towers, Unawareness on how to fight siege rollers, Fliers Aggro around cores.
Where to stand, What to do and what to hit
After Warmup
If you are getting carried, you should be dropping your mana to the Builder of the game, this would most often be the carrier. The quickest way to drop mana would be "CTRL+M" this is the default keymapping for the command. This will drop all the mana you are currently holding.

You should also not press G, before the builder has pressed it, this will reduce the pressure on the carrier since he is not building on time.

Where to stand
There is some places that you shouldn't stand, one of those is the most common which have been mentioned already which is the core. This place is where you shouldn't be standing cause of assassins that start spawning in Chaos 5, however in Chaos 6 & 7 assassins only spawn on wards from wave 3.

The place to stand would be in range of crowd control since this will get the assassins off you. When it's not on you anymore you wont be taking as much damage from it and will be able to hit, repair and upgrade again.

Kobolds
There have been Flying Kobolds for quite some time in Dungeon Defenders 2. But you should be aware, they have gotten more health for every player in the match and this can be dangerous.
And by the new addition on Chaos 7 With the Kobolts there is more than double the danger since these pesky little brats is on the ground lanes... All over them.
What to upgrade
Damage towers
The damage towers should be the first thing you should be upgrading, since more damage = less damage taken, this is how you make your shields take even less damage and wont need to upgrade them as much.

Anti air
Anti air towers can be poison dart towers or skyguard towers, those are circumstantial, since they might need to be first priority. This reason would be if the tower can't hold the air lane by it self, before it's upgraded further. If this is the case the anti air should be upgraded first to the tier needed for it to be able to cover the air lane(s) that it should, When the tier is reached first priority should go back to damage towers.

Shields
This should be the absolute last thing you upgrade since they can be repaired for less and will always take damage no matter how much you upgrade it.
How to handle assassins
What about assassins?
Assassins came out in Chaos 5 where there were masses of them, for the simple reason it's the new special mob on that difficulty. This very annoying mob is also existing in all the chaos levels above it (so far [Chaos 7]). Many have died by these foul creatures and asked me how to counter it, most late game people have figured it out already and I will gladly share it with you. All you need is health and come crowd control towers, this will get them off you and give you longer time to kill them.
The main problem is when people think they can AFK at carries and don't think about moving with them, these creatures do also knock back sometimes.

How to handle it?
First thing you should be sure of it not to AFK and make sure not to be around the core when the assassin indicator is on you this will be shown by a purple cloud as shown.

Your hero placement should be around the crowd control towers, this is most often the walls since it is very common to have sharpened spikes at chaos 7 difficulty. If you can't find any crowd control, you should go to where the most damage [towers / aura / traps] are at and stand there until it's dead.

Indicator
How to fight siege rollers
Placing
You shouldn't have towers between you and the rockets from the siege roller, since this can lead to tower destruction on towers like skyguard or volcano.

Your Hero placement should be in a stack. This will have more ground you can run to for avoiding the rocket damage.

Rockets
Rockets indicator is broken at this time being, so they do hit where you stand after the rocket launchers start turning upwards.

It can't shoot rockets at all party members at once. You can start running away from your spot after you see the launchers turning to avoid getting hit, however if you run to where your other party members stood when the launchers started turning you will still get hit.
This means you have to look out for both yourself and your team mates. This can also be the reason the one that carries die around siege rollers.

Weak spot
The siege roller have a weak spot behind it, where it takes more. This should be where most people are aiming their attacks at.

If people are ignoring me, I sell what ever they dump mana into and replace it with a fresh blockade or tower.

They'll eventually stop and ask why, then you can explain.

Perfect. That last part about upgrading should be at the top of the list. Players seem to upgrade walls on impulse while ignoring damage defences. I always try to tell them that if enemies die fast enough, they won't reach the walls to cause any significant damage. (Of course most will ignore this and upgrade walls anyway)
This is especially a problem in maps with Lady orcs, since they run fast to the walls.

After recent patches assassins do so little damage that they cant really hurt you. You can just stand still and wait, they will get off anyway.

Most important thing to be carried in c7 is construction shard. You can have tons of hp to survive assassins, but it wont help you if you cant keep walls alive under couple of bosses.
