Don't Panic - Hitchhikers Guide Anomalies and Events

In honour of the dear departed Douglas Adams and his namesake Stellaris update, this is a series of Anomalies and Events based around The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Currently featuring 13 relatively simple, though interesting, new anomalies, including discovery, wonder, depression and poetry.

Plans for more to be added, with more complex event chains. (I'm still learning how to code anomalies and events).

Should be compatible with just about every other Mod, doesnt change any files.

The anomalies have all been tested through the console, but I havent been able to widely test the frequency with which they appear - please let me know in the comments if they are too frequent or not appearing at all.

Update 05/10/2019 - Updated to 2.3.* and fixed (hopefully) all the non-functioning bits! Let me know if they work and appear properly.

Update 24/05/2018 - Updated to 2.1 (I think) - all seems to work okay, let me know if anything is borked!

Update: 22/02/2018 - Updated to 2.0. All seems to work okay from the console (let me know if it doesn't!), few tweaks, localisation fixes and changes to a couple of the anomalies (changed tech rewards due to 2.0) and 2 new ones added.

Update: 18/01/2018 - Updated to 1.9 - added a new anomaly

Update: 21/09/2017 - Updated to 1.8 - no changes.... will get round to doing some more events soon...

Update: 14/06/17 - fixed (I think!) poor syntax that meant most anomalies did not appear. Raised likelihood of appearance, but should now only appear once each at most.

Slight update: 09/06/17 - removal of restriction on the anomalies appearing for the AI.

@Phantomcreator 42 how was that coming along since 3.1 changed some of the ways the game reads anomalies.

Hey, sorry, totally missed the previous comment! Go for it, have a go at stuff, I totally dont have time to touch this mod at the moment (I'm being smashed by work, family and general exhaustion - I barely even have time to play games at the moment, let alone mod them!). Would be cool to see this working properly again :)

@Phantomcreator42 till you get permission, make two mods, the update of this one and a version that is based on that. From Jonny's first reaction i would guess he is ok with you adding additional content, but being respectful seems the way to go. Still i would love to see it done so don't hold back mate :)

Sorry to bother you again, but I was thinking, see I was wondering if it would be fine for me to add entirely new content of my own that fits in with the theme in my version or not. I originally started the project as I simply loved your mod, and it caused a sequence of events in which I learned a great deal about modding, and I was thinking, that there is a missed opportunity: A relic that is the in-universe hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. The fictional guidebook that the first book in the series is named after. I know someone who can make pretty good icons, the only issue would be the writing for the event. I was thinking, despite being busy, if you had the time to write an event chain for it I would greatly appreciate it. (I in no way can imitate how you wrote the original events, I tried.)

I don't know if I could make digs out of them, messing with special projects alone is new to me, but I miss this mod. Thanks for giving your permission to make an up to date version of it.

Go for it! I never quite got some of the events to work either. I guess some could also be turned into Archaeological digs these days too.

so the mod doesnt function in 3.0 and later so I was wondering if it would be okay for me to make an updated version. I'm not good with event modding so it would take me a while but I would like to try.

it actually functions fine though, shouldnt need updating till 3.0 with the trend of major overhaul updates happening at every whole number if looked at as a decimal value. I play with it constantly.
