Any black item you can pick up can be thrown at enemies or used to block bullets.
You can pluck bullets from midair with your fists -- this will make your fists vibrate which is the cool down from blocking with hands.
Swords can slice bullets in half.

when your hands are vibrating you can't use Mind Wave. It wears off in 3 sec just like after you use mind wave

Weapons (guns, melee) don't break when used to block bullets, but everything else does.

When your hand is vibrating, it can't be used to catch another bullet. That seems to be on a different cooldown than the mind wave vibration though, so you can catch a bullet even if your hands are vibrating from the mind wave.
