Description
The town of Lisieux was invaded with Operation Overlord with resistance. Allied bombers bombed the town from June 6 - June 7 1944. This bombing destroyed most of the town (2/3s!), religious sites, and killed 800 german soldiers and french citizens alike. The germans held a strong resistance against their Allied invaders. The town was eventually liberation officially on August 23, 1944 by the Allied forces.
