Due to lack of in-game tackling tutorial I am just giving out some insights of how to tackle bigger fish. This guide will be nothing too impressive.

The first thing that this game tells you to do, and the only thing it does tell you, is to press the space bar and consuming energy to catch bigger fish

Pressing space bar reduces line tension by half while it's held but doesn't teach you to actally reel the fish in. You are literally just draining away your energy while not even reeling in the fish. Of course you will get the fish at the end because the fish will eventually tire out but we're not intrested in a prolonged war of attrition

It's like the devs have no intention of actually teaching you to tackle fish and just want you to expend as much energy as possible

Not sure but from what I skimmed from the tutorial, using energy drink by pressing shift while tackling a fish only restores 25% energy but while not tackling a fish you restore 100%.

• If the INNER meter fills up, you get a small exclamation mark warning for like 1 second and if that fills up, that means that your line tension is too high and will cause a break
  
• If the OUTER meter fills up, that means that you released too much line and you run out of line and cause a break

When you snag a medium/large fish, the line tension immedietly gets put into the yellow/red range if you are holding the left-mouse button which is a clear indicator that you will be doing some tackling

Step-by-Step Tackling Process:

• If the tension is too high, the inner bar is reading orange/red, then release the left-mouse button. This will cause your reel to feed out line and lessen the tension. Note that you can't just feed line forever because if you feed too much line then the fish can escape because your rod has a maximum line capacity; I mentioned that this is another way to break your line, shown by outer meter reaching the top of the gauge. Sometimes you have to be a bit liberal with releasing your left-mouse button and sometimes more agressive but there are times when you clearly don't have the set up for the job and have to let the fish go or maybe you just need more practice
  
• Tactifully pull your rod back by moving your mouse to the top of your screen WHILE holding on to the left-mouse button; This puts your rod in a curved posture. Remmeber to release your left-mouse button if the tension suddenly gets too high. If line tension allows it, then move your mouse to the bottom of the screen WHILE still holding the left-mouse button; Your rod will now be in a strait posture. You will slowly reel in the fish and you just gained a bit of line because you were reeling in the line when moving from a curved rod posture to a strait rod posture.
  
• It's still a battle of attrition from here, repeat previous step, but at least you aren't going total wallet warrior style while fighing a virtual fish.

If you still don't understand what these steps are trying to immitate then watch a youtube video on a angler fishing a big catch. Notice that the fisherman's rod is always curved and that they only reel in when going form a curved-rod posture into a strait-rod posture and then from a strait-rod posture they slowly pull on the fish and that puts the rod back into the curved-rod posture.

Game is really laggy and it takes like 5 seconds for the tutorial missions to progress/highlight the next step

The devs of the game programmed it so that you cannot repair the current fishing rod you are using. You can obviously see the problem from here; If you have only one fishing rod, haven't bought another one, then you can't repair the current fishing rod. However, when you have two fishing rods, select and equip the one that you don't want to repair, now you can select and repair the one you want to repair. TL;DR you can't repair the fishing rod you are currently using

• If you level up a rod, after selecting a bonus, your rod will instalty repair to 100%
  
• If reeling in a easy fish, you can just move your mouse all the way up to the top of the screen and left click to reel the fish in faster

• Using a energy drink while tackling a fish only restores 25% energy as opposed to outside a tackling session which restores 100%
  
• Want to get a little bit more distance on your cast? Using auto-cast, after the auto-cast, move your mouse all the way to the bottom of the screen. This rod posture minimizes drag on the wire and gives you a little bit more distance
  
• Want to perform a bit better in the Fish Soup Mini-game? Simply move to the maps that have no silver cost. There may be some overlap but if your moving from the Europe to the US or the Nile then the fish are bound to be different
  
• Don't over invest gold/silver into the starter rod, as your level increases you will unlock blinker rods which require blinkers and then some other rod type which requires bait
  
• Is the game too slow? Do you want another rod? Notice that there is a big '+' symbol on the bottom left-hand side of the screen which is a slot for another rod. The way to unlock the slot is by performing the required when you click on the '+' symbol. Notice that it is an achievement based unlock system. You can find your achievements by going into PDA>Achievements>Choosing a achievement you want to achieve; Notice that the border determines the rank of the achivement
