I can have cube droppers in the floor :D, they don't work, but they're still there

Ah. File editing. Should've guessed. Still veery cool though :)

On a side note you can increase the length of a timer on pedestal buttons like this, and delete the 'manditory observation room' if it takes your fancy

Sometimes this can confuse PuzzleMaker a lot, and you might have difficulty if you decide to move it.

Once you know it is the right one look for:

}
"Item"
{
"Index" "5"
"Type" "ITEM_LASER_EMITTER_CENTER"
"Deletable" "1"
"VoxelPos" "0 5 0"
"LocalPos" "0 0 0"
"Angles" "0 0 0"
"ITEM_PROPERTY_CONNECTION_COUNT" "0"
"ITEM_PROPERTY_START_ENABLED" "1"
"Facing" "0 0 0"
"ConnectionVisiblity" "0"

Some numbers may be different. the bit you're interested in is "Angles"
the numbers "0 0 0" relate to the individual angles of the element. (they may be different depending on where you placed

The first number deals with the object's rotation on the x axis, the second deals with the y axis and the third deals with the z axis, if you placed on a wall this should be 90/180/-180/-90/0

PuzzleMaker likes increments of 45, when you have changed a number save the file and reopen the map in creator to see if you changed the right value

OK I suggest you build an empty room with whatever element you want to angle.

It'll make it easier to find for now.

Save it as whatever you want, it doesn't matter really.

Locate C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Portal 2\portal2\puzzles\[long number string] (you might not have (x86)

Inside that folder will be a file with a long number as it's name and .p2c as it's extension, the most recent one will be the map you just made.

Open it in Notepad (or equivalent text editor) and look for this:

"portal2_puzzle"
{
"AppID" "644"
"Version" "14"
"FileID" "0x0000000000000000"
"Timestamp_Created" "0x00000000505A30E3"
"Timestamp_Modified" "0x00000000505A30E3"
"CompileTime" "15.000000"
"Coop" "0"
"Title" "[your chamber's title]"
"Description" "(Provide a description of your creation)"
"PreviewDirty" "1"
"ChamberSize" "8 6 4"
"Voxels"

to make sure you got the right one.

Directions would be nice...

You can angle puzzle elements AND you make great puzzles? You must be some kind of wizard! :P
Lumina Rose  [author] 19 Sep, 2012 @ 2:06pm
or directions on how to do it
