Version 1.8.1 - Patch Notes (Overview)
  • Temporarily disabled Flying Brooms on the Genesis map. You can continue to fly your brooms on all the other maps, and Genesis will be re-enabled in the next patch.

Update: 14 Oct, 2019 @ 9:01pm

Version 1.8 - Patch Notes

New Item: Wizard Hat Skin
  • Witches have a hat, it's time the Wizards had one too!

Updated: Skeleton Costume
  • Completely overhauled from the ground up! The new code runs much, much better, and is highly optimized.
  • The old skeleton model has been replaced by the nice high-res skeleton from ATLAS!
  • Armor can be worn with the skeleton without causing weird graphical glitches, and the costume can stay on between deaths and server restarts.

Updated: The Great Pumpkin
  • Fixed a compatibility issue with "Awesome Spyglass" that prevented the spyglass from working near The Great Pumpkin.
  • The inventory activation range now scales with the size of the The Great Pumpkin, so that it's inventory is easy to access even if the structure is made large.
  • The music radius no longer scales with the size of The Great Pumpkin, as this is a server INI setting. You can now make The Great Pumpkin huge without playing music to half the map. =)
  • Items can now be crafted in The Great Pumpkin even if the music is silenced.

Updated: Graveyard Spawns
  • Grave Guardians have been updated with the new high-res ATLAS skeleton!
  • Graveyards will now spawn 50% less often by default (configurable in the INI settings). As a result, the odds of getting better loot have increased (can be edited or disabled, and is highly configurable, in the INI settings). The current defaults are now:
    • Tier 1: 45% chance.
    • Tier 2: 30% chance.
    • Tier 3: 15% chance.
    • Tier 4: 6% chance.
    • Tier 5: 3% chance.
    • Tier 6: 1% chance.
  • Fixed an edge-case where the graveyard mist would spawn, but without tombstones.
  • Remember: You can use the "Skelenomicon" to toggle graveyard spawns off/on for you, so that you can farm graveyards whenever you feel like it, without having them spawn all the time.

Updated: Flying Brooms
  • Flying Brooms will no longer take off when you mount them. Much like Snow Owls and Griffins, they will stay on the ground until you choose to take flight.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented Flying Brooms from being placed/summoned near enemy foundations.
  • Brooms will now properly retain their Glow Bug colors when re-entering render range.
  • GlowBug color names on the multiuse wheel are now properly formatted.
  • GlowBug light source will now shine even if the player is not looking directly at the broom.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the "BroomDisableMountedWeapons" and "BroomDisableMountedFishing" INI options from being independent of each other. Will now work as expected.
  • Increased the wind sound effects while flying by 50%.

Updated: General Bugfixes / Optimization
  • Reduced the mod download size by 40%.
  • Refined textures, updated LODs on materials, and re-balanced sound volumes.
  • Fixed a handful of exploits, you naughty monkeys.

Update: 17 Oct, 2018 @ 2:38am

Version 1.7 - Patch Notes
  • Overhauled Graveyards!
    • Now spawn with a very small delay between placing each gravestone, which prevents small lag spikes that would normally happen when trying to spawn several structures all at once. This optimization allows for much smoother gameplay.
    • The number of item sets for the gravestones can now be set. For example, if you wanted the graveyards to always generate 3 sets of loot:
      GraveyardNumberOfLootSets=3
    • You can also decide how often you want graveyards (or any future special event structures) to spawn, with the following INI setting:
      SpecialEventsSpawnMultiplier=1.0
    • Lastly, you can define how far away graveyards must be from other strucutures in order to spawn:
      GraveyardStructurePreventionRange=5000.0
    • New Item: The Skelenomicon! When used, this item allows the player to opt-out of graveyard spawns if they don't want them spawning near themselves. The server will remember their choice, so it only has to be used once. If the player ever wishes to re-enable graveyard spawns, simply read from the Skelenomicon again to re-awaken the dead. =)
    • Graveyards have also had their mist expanded/thickened, and scary music has been added, to increase the scare/fun factor.
  • Overhauled Grave Guardians!
    • Will no longer spawn when the gravestone enters stasis (previously unintended, causing overspawns).
    • Updated AI: When spawning, the skeleton seeks revenge for whoever disturbed it's grave, and will focus all attacks on that player alone.
    • Will self-destruct if unable to kill the player within X seconds. This variable is INI configurable:
      GraveyardSkeletonLifetimeSeconds=60.0
    • Additionally, the skeletons damage input/output can be adjusted so that the creatures are as strong or as weak as you prefer:
      GraveyardSkeletonDamageOutputMultiplier=1.0
      GraveyardSkeletonDamageReceivedMultiplier=1.0
    • Skeletons now "break" when killed, and colapse into a pile of bones!
    • Can be harvested with hand-held weapons for Keratin after being killed.
  • Sound Overhaul!
    • All of the sound effects should now have proper attenuation settings, meaning that they fade out as you get further away.
    • All sounds should be adjustable via the Music or Sound Effects channels in the game's menu.
    • Skeleton attack sounds have been shortened, and kept to a minimum.
    • The Flying Brooms will now play a faint "rushing wind" sound when sprinting during flight, and a small "rushing water" sound when flying over water. These sounds will change volume based on how fast you're currently going.
    • The Great Pumpkin's "Fear Evolved" music is now quieter.
  • Minor Changes
    • The Flying Brooms no longer do the white sparkly explosion when placed. Instead, they play a simple thatch sound (less annoying).
    • The Flying Brooms have had their crafting costs increased (still Wood/Thatch/Fiber), to make those mounts more rare, and less likely for players to litter them all over the map.
    • The Great Pumpkin (crafting station) now has a "ADMIN: Make Public" option in the multiuse wheel. This option will lock/unlock the structure to allow non-tribe members to use it, if server admins want to block the engram and build a single crafting station in a common area, for example.
  • New Decoration: Evil Pumpkin
    • Found in the crafting station.

Update: 7 Oct, 2018 @ 12:21am

Minor bugfixes:

  • The "BroomDisableFlying" INI setting has been fixed, and works correctly.
  • The gravestone additional item sets INI settings will now work, and correctly generated loot beyond the "survivor" tier if you want it.

A big thanks to the admins on the Primal Instinct PvE cluster for their bug reports (Grumbo, Mark, etc)!

Update: 5 Oct, 2018 @ 10:54pm

Version 1.6 - Patch Notes
  • Procedurally generated Graveyards are here!
    • They spawn on any reasonably flat landscape terrain (not in water, in caves, or ontop of large boulders, etc).
    • Graveyards contain 1-6 random gravestones, surrounded by a cloud of spooky mist.
    • Each grave can be looted! Sometimes they're empty, sometimes they have loot, and sometimes the dead don't like being robbed... >:}
    • Graveyards won't spawn next to another gravestone. Be sure to clear all the stones, or move to a new area, if looking for more graveyards.
    • All graveyards/gravestones/etc will automatically destroy themselves when they go into stasis (when they leave your render range), which leaves the map nice and clean.
    • By default, the gravestones have a 50% chance to contain low-level "survivor" items (berries, stone tools, arrows, etc). However, if you want more powerful items on your server, there are INI config options that allow you to balance loot however you'd like, between 6 different "tiers" of loot. These tiers include the "survivor" items (T1), multiple loot beacons (T2-T5), and ocean loot crates (T6). You can even disable the default "survivor" items if you want.
    • In addition, there are INI settings which allow server admins to configure the percentage chance that any random grave will contain loot, as well as the percentage chance that any grave is occupied.
  • New Flying Broom Option: Ground only!
    • By default, Flying Brooms will fly on every map except Aberration. On Aberration, the broom will be restricted to ground-only travel by default.
    • The "Ground Only" option can be forced in the INI settings, if you want to restrict other maps to only ground travel, or want to allow flying on Aberration. =)
  • New INI Config Options:
    [ARKHallowsEve]
    BroomDisableFlight=FALSE
    GraveyardsEnabled=TRUE
    GraveyardLootSetWeightT1=1.0
    GraveyardLootSetWeightT2=0.0
    GraveyardLootSetWeightT3=0.0
    GraveyardLootSetWeightT4=0.0
    GraveyardLootSetWeightT5=0.0
    GraveyardLootSetWeightT6=0.0
    GraveyardLootPercentChance=50.0
    GraveyardSkeletonPercentChance=75.0
    The above values are the defaults. With these, you can balance the brooms however you like!

    One note about loot set "weights": Those values can be almost any number. "Weights" are used to decide which outcomes are more likely than others. So if T1 is rated at 1.0, and T2 is rated at 2.0, then T2 is twice as likely to occur than T1. The same would be true if they were waited as 10.0 and 20.0 -- the actual number doesn't matter, only their relative sizes. Please feel free to post down in the comments if you have any questions about this. =)

Version 1.5 - Patch Notes
  • Overhauled the Flying Brooms!
    • Crash when mounting the brooms has been fixed!
    • Updated the brooms with better textures and models.
    • When you dismount, the brooms will attract Glowbugs that will flutter around your broom, and illuminate it for you. Useful for finding your broom at night!
    • Glowbug colors can customized in the broom's multiuse wheel, or disabled entirely if you don't want to give away your position.
    • You can now pick up your broom from within the broom's multiuse wheel, and return it to your inventory!
    • Brooms will now automatically fall straight down and land when a player dismounts, preventing cases of brooms being stuck in the air.
    • Brooms now respond to whistles, and can follow you. (Because they're magic, and they love you!)
  • Updated the Pumpkin decorations with correct level-of-detail settings. They should no longer flicker or go black. =D
  • Updated the Carvable Pumpkin icon to include a paintbrush, to better distinguish it from regular pumpkins that can't be painted.
  • General optimizations and stream-lining, to keep the mod size and server CPU requirements low.
  • Flying Broom INI Config Options:
    [ARKHallowsEve]
    BroomMaxFlySpeed=1200.0
    BroomMaxWalkSpeed=800.0
    BroomRunSpeedMultiplier=3.5
    BroomFollowSpeed=500.0
    BroomDisableMountedWeapons=FALSE
    BroomDisableMountedFishing=FALSE
    BroomDamageReductionMultiplier=0.9
    The above values are the defaults. With these, you can balance the brooms however you like!

Update: 1 Dec, 2017 @ 8:11pm

Version 1.4 - Patch Notes
  • New Flying Broom: The Thunderstrike X83!
  • Flying Brooms now correctly show their names and name-plate UI's in the correct location (directly over the broom).
  • Flying Brooms now have sounds and particle effects when destroyed, instead of silently disappearing.
  • Flying Brooms can now fly up and down in place, just like a Tapejara!
  • Both Flying Broom's are now unlocked as engrams, so that players can override their crafting costs, disable them, or change the level at which you unlock them.

    Cumulus 9000
    OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName=" EngramEntry_ARKHallowEve_FlyingBroom_C ",EngramHidden=false,EngramPointsCost=0,EngramLevelRequirement=1,RemoveEngramPreReq=false)

    Thunderstrike X83
    OverrideNamedEngramEntries=(EngramClassName=" EngramEntry_ARKHallowEve_FlyingBroom_ThunderstrikeX83_C ",EngramHidden=false,EngramPointsCost=0,EngramLevelRequirement=1,RemoveEngramPreReq=false)

  • New Flying Broom INI Config Options:
    BroomMaxFlySpeed=1200.0
    BroomMaxWalkSpeed=800.0
    BroomRunSpeedMultiplier=3.5
    BroomFollowSpeed=500.0
    BroomDisableMountedWeapons=FALSE
    BroomDisableMountedFishing=FALSE
    BroomRepairMultiplier=0.2
    BroomDamageReductionMultiplier=0.9
    The above values are the defaults. With these, you can balance the brooms however you like.

    Note: The "repair" functionality has been removed temporarily, but the brooms now have a default 90% damage reduction to make up for this while the repair functionality is overhauled. You can change this built-in damage reduction with the "BroomDamageReductionMultiplier" INI option.

Update: 25 Oct, 2017 @ 2:18am

Version 1.3 - Patch Notes
  • New Decorations: Mutated Spiders and Centipedes!
    • Each spawns with a random set of colors!
    • Can be spawned on ground, floors, and even walls!
    • Plays spawning and idle animations when placed.
    • Can be resized like the other decorations.

  • New Item: Pumpkin Lamp Post!
    • A brightly lit pumpkin on top of a metal light post.
    • Light is fully adjustable. You can manually set the brightness and range of the light source.
    • Can be toggled on/off.
    • Does not require power.
    • Does not have annoying flare when looking directly at it.
    • Can be resized like the other decorations.

  • General Updates/Improvements:
    • All items can now be manually demolished by admins in the item's menu, even if the server admin is not in the player's tribe. The command "admincheat destroymytarget" will not destroy decorations, because the structures have no collision (for PvP balance).
    • Updated the Flying Broom's collision and dismounting settings.
    • The Flying Broom will no longer fly if the player is 100% encumbered, to prevent farming exploits.
    • Reduced the duration of "Trick-or-Treat" buffs by 50%. Buffs now last 30 minutes.
    • Reduced the insulation buff from "Fireball" candy to 100, down from 200, for general game-balance reasons.
    • Optimized/updated various textures.

Update: 20 Oct, 2017 @ 9:48pm
