Published v.272

*Darklite

- Version bump for multiplayer.
- Implemented a number of new test skills.

1. Wrath of Thorns.
Based on the Wood Wraith enemy skill, this skill shoots thorny projectiles. High damage output, these are highly spammable. Be cautious though as each cast also harms the caster (helps stop players treating it like a "noobcannon" hopefully).

2. A different ground spike skill.
Based on the Wood Wraith enemy skill. Modified so that is shoots out in random directions. Each tier increases the amount of "paths."

3. Dark Intervention.
Summons Wraiths (2-3) to aid the caster. They will appear after a damaging AoE. The ability cannot be recast until the wraiths have died, thus it is impossible to try to cheat the skill by summoning them at different skill levels (a known exploit for some implementations of summons).

4. Bats.
The same as used by the Witches in Act 3. Debatable whether or not this suits the class. Might be used as a filler skill, might not be.

5. Tentacle summon.
Massive WIP, but this skill will summon a ring of attacking tentacles for a short duration around the player. I will still need to create some custom tentacle units as these have terrible health (10-30hp?) making them useless in the long term.

Please note, not all the skills are listed in the tree. A lot of them are only available via application from GUTS for testing purposes. The final tree will change greatly from what we currently have.

Still no reason to play the class, but we are getting *even further* along.

*Darklite

- Version bump for multiplayer.
- Implemented a number of new 1 rank test skills.

1. Bone Needles.
Found this skill whilst looking through the Monster\Tutura skills. Very much the same as the Necromancer Bone Needles from Synergies. An aimed missile skill.

2. Bone Spikes.
Found this skill whilst looking through the Monster\Tutura skills. Shoots spikes originating from the ground. Will look into some more. Seen in Synergies before (Necromancer again).

3. Ground Slam.
A stomping attack that causes a forward AoE. Seen in the Troll skills.

4. Stone Shards.
Similar to an AoE introduced in the previous update, however this one is forward-directional instead of a local-circular AoE.

- Fixed up a few dependencies on the skills from the last update (file paths again).

Still no reason to play the class, but we are getting much further along.

Published v.257

*Darklite

- Version bump for multiplayer.
- Began Implementation of some new skills. Too early in development to decide exactly how they shall work, but we are slowly making progress towards something halfway playable.

Update: 4 Aug, 2013 @ 2:52am

Published v.254

*Darklite

- Fully implemented a summon skill on tab 3. This will summon a nicely cloned monster complete with skills and so on. There are 15 versions of the monster (one for each rank) each with slightly better HP than the last. As tier bonuses the monster will unlock new skills and and give the better ones a higher priority.

Summons will last indefinitely, though resummoning any rank of the monster will kill off the previous copy preventing exploitation.

Published v.249

*Darklite

- Mostly completed the Aura skill on tab 3. Added all ranks in.
- Implemented "Close the Wounds" - A HP recharging skill. This will lower your max mana whilst buffing health regen.
- Malevolence mana cost lowered.

Published v.244

*Noxmer:
- Edits to the Missile skill, there was an issue with the armor debuff scaling.

Essentially, During a multiplayer test I saw that the "-x armor per hit" number appeared to change depending on what map/dungeon we were running. The rank up bonuses were even going down instead of up in some cases.

I traced it down to a graph flag in the Effect, and set it to be independant. Long story short, the "-x armor per hit" is now correctly hardcoded. I will adjust the numbers as seen fit.

Honestly, I am surprised none of you picked up on (or mentioned) this!

- Adjusted those messy bundles of bones to no longer proc. It was noted that it was too easy to apply mana on-hit to these and create an endless supply of skills. Will look at again after more testing.

*Darklite:
- Managed to break the male file during the test builds, fixed again ;)

Sorry for any poor grammar up there, it's been a long day.

Published v.239

*Updates to the Darklite class:

- Changed appearance options.
- Numerous mild tweaks under-the-hood.

Still no point in playing the class yet.

Main point of update was to bump the version number for multiplayer reasons.
- I too would like to play MP here and there :P

Update: 22 Jun, 2013 @ 2:27am

Published v.226

*Updates to the Darklite class:

- Added Two-Handed Mastery passive (full 15 ranks).
- Added Armor Mastery passive (full 15 ranks).
- Changed animation for Poison Local AoE skill (first tree).
- Added Pull (Berserker chain) to Poison AoE to make investment more appealing.

Still no point in playing the class yet.

Update: 16 Jun, 2013 @ 5:25am

Published v.222

*Update to starter missile skill (Noxmer):
- Lowered mana cost scale, as the jump from rank 1 to 2 was too steep (4 - 10 mana). Being a spammable skill, this would eat your mana very quickly at low levels. Looking into possibly lowering damage output to compensate but would rather keep it as is.

I have found myself a reasonable method of rapidly play-testing my class ingame thanks to Synergies. The levelling dungeon throws the player against many elite and hero mobs from the get-go, whilst rapidly levelling the class and dropping large amounts of loot.

I will be using this to assist in balancing from now on due to the lack of feedback on skill cost/damage.

No further updates to the Darklite class for now.

Update: 7 Jun, 2013 @ 4:17am

Published v.219

*Update to Maelstrom (Noxmer)

- Sneaky little layout file (pull) was still pointing at a vanilla layout. Changed to the correct unique path.

*Updates to Darklite skills (still not playable)

- Current 4-5 skills have 15 ranks, though they contain placeholder text and all have the same image.
- Skills do not yet have tier bonuses except for Mana Missile (name will change). MM gains more projectiles as bonuses.
