This is a big one!

The important stuff:
- the Mental Barrier effect has been reworked. It still gives block at the end of your turn and decreases by 1, but additionally it is decreased by 1 for every point of attack damage you take. This makes your mental barrier fragile and in need of protection. But if you can protect it, it's an incredibly strong effect.
This change allowed me to be a little more generous with the Mental Barrier values, without making it a permanent full-blocking defense. Also, most effects that can stack your Mental Barrier require you to work for it.

- 'Hush' card has been redesigned. It is no longer a skill, and no longer gives you any block. Instead, it's an Exhaust and Draw engine card that requires you to work to start it. By itself, it's a card that, when you draw it, exhausts itself and draws you two cards. This is very similar to '0-cost skill: Draw 2 cards, Exhaust'. Where it gets funky is that Hush is actually a Power, and if you manage to get it into your hand and into play, it will generate a Hush in your deck each turn. In other words, find a way to play it and it will provide draw and exhausted cards for the rest of combat.
The impetus for the rework was that there was too much overlap with the card 'Layered Defense', and I wanted something a little bit less straightforward.

- 'Ruthless Study' card has been redesigned. It was originally a power that drew you a card each turn and exhausted the top of your deck. With the new 'Hush' card already providing a very similar effect, it felt a bit of a waste to leave Ruthless Study as is. Instead, I've turned it into a new way to generate Mental Barrier. It is a 0-cost skill that says 'Whenever you draw a card this turn, gain 2(3) Mental Barrier'. Finally you can draw all the cards and survive!

- 'Bloom' card has been redesigned. Originally, it drew 2 cards and put a card from your discard on top of your deck. The new version instead discards 2 cards from the top of your deck and you choose 1 to add to your hand. It functions similarly to the old version, but gives a bit more control over the current turn instead of the next.

- 'Withdraw' card has been redesigned. Originally it gave you some amount of Mental Barrier X times. But I found that it only takes 1 monster turn with Ignorance to turn this into 'gain infinite block per turn'. So instead, it is now a 3 cost skill that simly gives 18(24) Mental Barrier, and exhausts. And of course it draws you a card when drawn, because it's with draw. Good to get the Barrier train rolling, but can no longer you infinite value.

- 'Dream Journal' relic has been tweaked. It not only upgrades a random card when you rest, but also gives you +2 max hp. To compensate, the Somnambulant lost some starting max hp. Sleep well!

The smaller stuff:
- 'Reject' card upgrade changed. It no longer exhausts when upgraded, but the block-per-nightmare value stays the same. I like how a card upgrade can change the way you play with it.
- 'Layered Defense' card changed. Now you get two copies of it even without the upgrade. The upgrade increases the Mental Barrier amount you get from 4 to 5.
- 'Racing Thoughts' card upgrade changed. Previously it increased by 9 damage when drawn, but this scaled too hard. Now increases by 7.
- 'Muscle Memory' got buffed slightly, giving you 3(4) strength, up from 2(3). Because the Somnambulant does not have many attacks that particularly scale with strength, a little bit faster strength scaling is ok.
- 'Horrific Thought' card got changed slightly. Now it draws you 3(4) cards, up from 2(3), but shuffles 2 nightmares into your draw pile instead of 1. This is makes it slightly scarier in the long term, and slightly more impactful in the short term.
- 'Sleepyhead' card upgrade got nerfed slightly, giving an enemy 3(4) strength down instead of 3(5). 5 was excessive, and not needed.

And 2 bug fixes:
- The card text on 'Inspiration' got mixed up when you had it in hand.
- 'Repression+' now correctly works when you have exactly 1 card in your draw pile.

1.8:

Bug fixes:
- Made sure that you get an orb slot whenever you pick up 'Memoirs of Another' relic, the same way Prismatic Shard does it. Now you can actually play orb cards you pick up!

Gameplay:
- Nerfed 'Glued Mask' relic. Now, in addition to making your Nightmares uplayable, it adds 2 Nightmares to your draw pile. Better bring some Nightmare removal!
- Reworked 'Relive' card. Before, it was an attack that did medium damage and shuffled 1(2) copies of the next played card into your draw pile. The damage part felt superfluous, so doubled down on the copy creation. It is now a skill that shuffles 2(3) copies of the next played card into your draw pile, and gives you a Nightmare.
- Nerfed 'Ignorance' card. When played, you can no longer draw cards until end of turn, similar to Bullet Time and Battle Trance. You can still generate all the energy you want, but it is going to be more difficult to find cards to spend it on.
- Nerfed 'Pour it out' card. It now always does 2 damage per card previously played, instead of 2(3 when upgraded), and the unupgraded version is Ethereal. This makes it a little harder to use at base level, and upgrading only makes it less cumbersome, instead of making it stronger.

Googly Eyes:
- added them to the class relics where appropriate.
- added them to a few more cards.

1.7

Bug fixes:
- fixed many buff/debuff stacking issues (Leech Fears, Ignorance, Cower and a few more)

Gameplay:
- Reworked Plated Armor implementation on the Somnambulant. I wasn't happy thematically with the two plated armor cards in the class (Withdraw and Layered Defense), so I added a new buff called 'Mental Barrier'. Similar to Metallicize and Plated Armor, it gives you block at the end of your turn. But, like Poison, it decreases at the end of the round. The two cards using Plated Armor now give Mental Barrier, as well as the relic Private Pocket. Previously it gave you 3 block whenever you exhaust a card, now it gives you 1 Mental Barrier.
- Reworked 'Happy Thoughts' card. Previously, it gave an enemy 1(2) Weak and 1(2) Dreams in your discard pile for 0 energy. However, this was functionally very similar to 'Blink', which for 0 energy gave you 1(2) dreams in your discard pile. I liked Blink's simplicity, so Happy Thoughts got changed: it applies 2(3) Weak to an enemy, and you discard a card from your hand. This synergizes with Dreams without supplying you with them, and it can save you from status or nightmare death. In a pinch, it also discards a crucial Ethereal card before it exhausts. Seems quite happy to me.
- Downgraded 'Cipher's Pen' relic from the Boss pool to the Rare pool. Upgrading all Dreams and Nightmares didn't feel impactful enough for a boss relic since I removed the cost reduction on upgrade.
- Added a new relic to the boss pool: 'Broken Timepiece'. This relic gives you 3 strength whenever a Dream is exhausted. So if you are willing to give up the unpredictable power of Dream cards, you get some quick damage scaling instead!

Update: 16 Apr, 2019 @ 8:38am

1.6

Bug fixes:
- Dreams will no longer create cards with 'Special' rarity (such as other Dreams)

Gameplay:
- New uncommon relic added: Memoirs of Another. Similar to Dream Catcher, this relic gets you a choice of cards when you rest. The choices, however, are always 1 Red, 1 Green and 1 Blue card. When you also have a Dream Catcher, its effects are modified.
- Nerfed 'Time Compression' card to 18 damage. Its damage was a little too high for a card that can refund its own energy cost.
- Nerfed 'Trauma' card to 13(17) damage. It was a little too effective for early game damage.
- Nerfed 'Sleepyhead' card to -3(-5) strength. It may still be too effective.

Update: 15 Apr, 2019 @ 12:26pm

1.5

bug fixes:
- different card types now use the correct card shape
- Dream+ card text is correctly updating, instead of reverting to the unupgraded text

Update: 14 Apr, 2019 @ 11:16am

1.4

Gameplay:
- Changed Dementing Veil relic: is now a Shop relic with the effect 'At the end of your turn, exhaust all cards in hand'
- Added Glued Mask relic to the Boss relic pool. It has the effect 'At the start of your turn gain 1 energy. Nightmares are unplayable.'
- Nerfed Lose Form card: When not upgraded, it plays and exhausts a random card from your discard pile at the start of each turn. When upgraded, it plays and exhausts a card of your choice from your discard pile. Previously, it always allowed you to choose the card, and upgrading it reduced its cost to 2. This was a bit too strong.
- Nerfed Bloom card: now draws 1 card instead of 2.
- Nerfed Relive card: now creates 1(2) copies of a card, instead of 2(3).

Bug fixes:
- Fixed a bug that happened when you played a Dream for free (i.e. from the discard pile with Lose Form, or from the top of deck with Mayhem). It used to create one card too many that went straight into the discard pile.

Update: 14 Apr, 2019 @ 1:47am

1.3

Bug fixes:
- fixed a crash that occurred when playing Night Haunts

Gameplay:
- nerfed Horrific Thought. Now draws 2(3) cards instead of 3(4). Was a little strong for a common, esspecially when your Nightmares have become pretty decent cards to draw.

Update: 13 Apr, 2019 @ 3:47pm

1.2:

Gameplay:
- Changed starting relic 'Dream Journal': now it only upgrades a random card whenever you rest at a campfire (used to be whenever you entered a campfire).
- Lowered damage of 'Pour it out' so that it has a lower damage floor. Now does 2(3) damage per card previously played, instead of 3(4).
- Changed 'Darkening Mind' upgrade: instead of increasing strength gain by 1, now decreases in cost from 1 to 0. It scaled a little too fast for my liking, and should now require some more effort.

UI:
- Fixed the tooltips for Dream and Nightmare cards.
- Added Googly Eyes to character selection screen
