V5.1.0 Update Log

New Characters: Xiahou Lan.

Titles and Illustrations: Xiahou Lan now has original illustrations by 暴力色彩.

This character is made as a thank you to our major donor who has been supporting us since the beginning. The character and illustration design of Xiahou Lan referenced an ancient 3K game called “the biography of Zhao Yun”. In the game Xiahou Lan is said to be the student of Zuo Ci, thus making his design very fantasy-like.

Major thanks to the author of Puzzle Illustration Kim again, some more illustrations are updated:

Characters w/o unique armour/model: Gongsun Gong, Gongsun Kang, Dong Xi.

Characters with unique armour/model: Wu Yi, Xiahou Ba, Zhang Song, Dong Cheng, Liu Pan.

Xiahou Lan also has a new title.

Models: Xiahou Lan has an exquisite model that matches her art.

Armours: Xiahou Lan has an unique armour.

Abilities: Xiahou Lan has an ability tree that is completely unique:

Xiahou Lan’s tree only has 7 nodes and the lineup of the nodes is that of a Great Dipper. Each of the nodes can be upgraded twice and you are rewarded a battle ability once you upgrade a node to level 3 (except for the first node).

If you play with normal skill points the maximum battle abilities you may get is 3, and if you are playing with extras, the maximum you may get will be 4; thus of the total of 6 possible battle abilities you can only choose a combination of some.

Each node also has different bonuses that are either battle related or politics related so you can choose how you want to develop Xiahou Lan.

Events: you may only obtain Xiahou Lan by events and there are three possible events. Xiahou Lan can be referred by Zhao Yun (about 5% chance), by Zuo Ci (about 20% chance), and if you do not have either of them you may trigger an event (about 1% chance) that will make you choose an answer based on a story and if you successfully choose 4 correct answers you may also obtain him.


Bug Fixes and Balance Adjustment:

General Seal now provides an extra 12 charge bonus.

Maiden of Qiang now provides an extra 12% decrease in Qiang units’ upkeep cost.

Heavenly Spear now offers 5% attack speed rather than charge bonus and it also becomes a personal item for Ma Chao.

Phoenix Halberd now provides an extra 6 personal morale.

Fierce Tiger Blade can cause fear now.

Since damage resistance can not be negative, greatly increased the damage resistance debuff of Xu Rong’s ability Will of the Tiger.

Largely increased the movement speed debuff of Guo Jia’s ability Divine Ploy.

Cancelled the number of using limits of Tao Qian’s ability Hero of the People.

Cao Cao’s ability Evasive Maneuvers does not affect himself anymore.

Fixed the problem that some of Xun You’s abilities do not show in battle.

Fixed the problem that Li Dian has a female voice on the map.

Fixed the problem that Lady Hua Man’s name does not show.



Other Notices:

Since the new official Nanman models use different skeletons and numbers currently they cannot be exported properly; thus sadly we cannot make Nanman models for now.

The next update will be an update on Dong Zhuo faction.

New Characters: Lady Hua Man and Ma Zhong are created. Lady Hua Man is placed under the commend of Lady Zhurong and Ma Zhong is placed under Liu Yan in both 190 and 194 campaign.

Titles and Illustrations: Lady Huang Yueying, Lady Hua Man, Ma Zhong, Meng You and Dailai now have original illustrations by 暴力色彩.

暴力色彩 also repainted Guan Suo so that his facial structure looks more comfortable.

Major thanks to the author of Puzzle Illustration Kim. Most characters in Puzzle Illustration now have quality illustrations with high resolution. In response to this update, around 50 characters in Wu now have updated illustration as well. Since swapping the illustrations of character with unique armour and model require the change of both, they will be updated slower than those without. Here’s the list of characters who now have updated illustrations:

Zhao Guoda has a new illustration now; this illustration comes from our member NQ.

Lady Hua Man and Ma Zhong both have titles, and the titles of Dailai and Meng You have new effects.

Models: Lady Huang Yueying has an exquisite model that matches her art, and Lady Guan Feng’s model is readjusted so that it also matches her new art. Lady Hua Man, Ma Zhong, Dailai and Meng You all have unique models assigned to them.

Weapons: Lady Hua Man has a new unique weapon

Armours: Lady Hua Man and Ma Zhong have unique armours.

Abilities: Ma Zhong has a new ability tree that comes with two unique abilities. Lady Hua Man, Meng You and Dailai have two new abilities assigned to them through their titles.

Some of the unique ability icons have slight modification.

A large number of ability now have unique ability icons and the generals that have them are:

Guo Jia, Liu Hong, Gongsun Zan, Gongsun Yue, Gao Shun, Cao’s family, Shen Pei, Yan Liang, Ju Shou, Lu Su, Sima Yi, Xu Rong, Pan Feng, Ma Chao

Some characters also have some new abilities that come with unique ability icons:

Dian Wei, Zhou Yu, Pang De, Ju Shou, Xiahou Yuan, Xu You, Xun Yu

All of the icons mentioned above are the work of our member MVP.

Lady Hua Man have also two unique ability icons.

Bug fixes and balance changes:

Li Ru and Xun You now have their unique abilities that were created before the Nanman DLC again.

Fixed the problem that Lu Meng’s title has very low stat bonus.

Fixed the problem with Hundred Lis’s model.

Fixed the problem that Lady Yuan Anyang and Lady Hua Lanli have their child illustration shown incorrectly in the 182 campaign.

Fixed the problem that Lady Ma Yunlu does not have bodyguards in historical mode.

Fixed the problem with some English translations so that they are more accurate.

Fixed the problem that Yuan Shang has the wrong class.

Fixed the problem that Liao Hua’s illustration does not show correctly.

Fixed the problem that the abilities of Gao Shun and Zhao Guoda don’t show in battle.

Fixed the problem that the debut event of Wen Pin does not working properly.

Fixed the problem that Wei Yan cannot unlock the summoning ability when he is equipped with Hua Tuo.

Lady Zhao Yu now starts with a silver tier elephant in her inventory.

The unique weapons of Pan Feng and Xing Daorong can no longer dropped in battle anymore.

Since the new DLC movement speed on the water cannot be buffed anymore; thus the trait Valiant Tiger and Huang Quan’s title now provides movement speed in campaign.

Zhou Yu’s ability the ripples of perspective has been rolled back to the vanilla version.

The ability that comes with Ancient Heptachord has been reworked: it is now an active ability that reduces fire resistance and armour.

Lu Xun’s ability Wind and Fire now reduces fire resistance rather than morale.

Shen Pei’s ability Rockfall has slightly increased explosion range.

Pei Yuanshao’s ability Conviction has slightly increased movement speed.


Other notices:

Many characters are added as the unique characters for the faction, including Lady Hua Man, Dailai, Meng You, Yan Liang, Wen Chou, Lady Zhao Yu and Zhao Guoda.

Due to the time constraint of this update, some of the planned content of this update was cut short such as the exquisite models for the characters with new original art. These contents will move forward to the next update.

The next update is going to be a special update as it will focus on one special character. This update will be made as a thank you to a sponsor who’s been anonymously Wu for a long time.

This update will be the last bug fix update. Unless major bug comes out, all other minor bugs will be fixed when next normal update is up. Next update will be about Nanman,
