Prime Counter Update

  • New experimental counterplay addition. Dealing a 10% or more damage to Kaboom while he is in primal state will cause his bomb to explode immediately. This explosion will deal 10% bonus damage to Kaboom but will be harmless to opponents. In addition, Kaboom will be launched lightly upwards and will have an extra long recovery in which opponents should be able to follow up with an easy combo attack.
  • Impacts from moving bombs should no longer act like windboxes. They are hitboxes with reduced hitstun multiplier.
  • A new sound has been added to the prime state of Kaboom's bombs. This new sfx should help Kaboom players and opponents register when the prime state has begun.

1/14/2023 Hotfix

  • Kaboom (and his allies) regain control over skull bombs when parried.
  • When an enemy parries Kaboom, his fuse will magically gain 2 seconds and it will not count down during parry stun.
  • Dstrong : Reduced endlag, now landing the primary hitbox guarantees a connection with the mine.
  • Dstrong Mine : Super jump and Super High Ustrong now require holding down upon activation. This allows Kaboom to jump off the mine without triggering it.
  • Tilts after parried Jabs will now parry stun Kaboom
  • Fstrong : Endlag slightly reduced
  • Ustrong: Prime Ustrong explosions now have a knockback angle of 90 instead of 45.

  • Fstrong : Added hit VFX. Increased knockback scaling
  • Ustrong : Increased knockback angle from 65 to 85 of final hit.
  • Dspecial : Changes to SFX and VFX
  • Fair : Changes to VFX
  • Bair : Changes to VFX
  • Uair : Changes to VFX, increased landing lag, fixed explosion position for Prime hits.
  • Dair : Changes to VFX, increased landing lag
  • Nair : Hitbox adjusted to better match attack visual
  • Dattack : No longer abruptly ends upon hitting an enemy
  • Bomb Explosion: Slightly reduced base knockback, slightly increased knockback scaling

The Gamefeel Update by Delta Parallax and ArtistOfSeer.

This is a huge update and I couldn't have done it on my own. With the help of Delta Parallax and ArtistOfSeer Kaboom has received the largest update ever.

The Changes
  • Turn down the hitpause! Pretty much every attack got a significant reduction in hitpause. Kaboom was riddled with too high of hitpause values so these were first to go.
  • NEW Fair: Updated sprite animation. Gamefeel changes to frame data. Generally much quicker and less clunky
  • NEW Bair: Updated sprite animation. Gamefeel changes to frame data. Generally much quicker and less clunky
  • NEW Uair: Updated sprite animation. Gamefeel changes to frame data.
  • NEW Nair: Updated sprite animation. Gamefeel changes to frame data. Better connects between hits.
  • NEW Dair: Complete rework! Now a downward meteor attack with the bomb.
  • NEW Ftilt: Complete rework! Now a long range poke with the bomb.
    Dattack: Hitbox angle changed from 45 to 75. Changes to frame data to make it easier to catch DI for combos.
