Version 2.2.0: The Abyss Rune Update
  • Implemented all 15 Abyss Runes
  • All FTILT launch angles have been made 10 degrees steeper
  • NAIR final hit knockback growth increased from 0.45 to 0.5
  • NAIR base hitpause reduced to 0 and hitpause growth increased from 0.01 to 0.10
  • NAIR animation touched up slightly
  • BAIR sweetspot now moves struck rivals upwards by two pixels on-hit
  • UAIR spritework and hitboxes redone to be easier on the eyes
  • DAIR projectile no longer erroneously collides with platforms on the frame it's created
  • DAIR projectile now inflicts exactly 45f of hitpause on-hit, regardless of the opponent's damage

Version 2.0.0 is here!

This long-overdue update addresses many long-standing issues with the character, and integrates many of the balance changes first introduced in DuskRD's fork of the character.

The purpose of this update is to reign in Annoying Dog's outrageous movement and stage control while still allowing him to have some fun movement tools, as well as granting new utility to some of Annoying Dog's less useful moves. These changes all work towards making the character's kit more rounded and less over-centralized on a few key moves.

  • Run speed reduced from 7.5 to 7.25
  • Ground friction reduced from 0.6 to 0.5
  • Moonwalk acceleration increased from 1.6 to 1.7
  • Wavedash duration increased from 5f to 7f
  • Waveland friction increased from 0.01 to 0.25
  • Max jump speed, max double jump speed, and max air speed all reduced from 6.0 to 5.75
  • —Dash Attack cancelled jumps are not affected by these changes
  • Air acceleration reduced from 0.3 to 0.25
  • Air friction increased from 0.09 to 0.1
  • JAB projectile knockback angle changed from 125 to 120
  • NAIR's on-hit vertical velocity boost decreased from -1.0 to -0.5
  • NAIR's weak hits now have an SDI multiplier of 0.0 and cannot be teched

  • UAIR bomb projectile gravity increased, making it travel through it's arc faster
  • Consequently, UAIR bomb detonation time reduced from 32f to 26f
  • —UAIR bomb detonates when it reaches a vertical speed of 10, which it now reaches 8 frames faster than before
  • UAIR bomb horizontal velocity is now 1.5x Annoying Dog's velocity (plus a base forwards speed of 1.5)
  • DAIR sprites redone; Annoying Dog no longer says "NANI?!" during windup, and the Gaster Blaster will begin glowing for 10f before firing the laser
  • DAIR startup increased from 25f to 30f
  • DAIR ending lag increased from 20f to 30f
  • DAIR discarded Gaster Blaster projectile now spawns 20f after firing the laser instead of 15f
  • BAIR sweetspot changed from a spike to a semi-spike (launch angle changed from 270 to 155)
  • BAIR sweetspot has an SDI multiplier of 0.0 and is untechable
  • Greater Dog remains in-play for 500f instead of 1,000f
  • Greater Dog cooldown time no longer halved if Greater Dog falls off the stage
  • Greater Dog now automatically leaves if Annoying Dog is KO'ed
  • Greater Dog charge time doubled from 1,500f to 3,000f
  • —Each hit of NAIR takes 20f off of the timer (100f for all 5 hits)
  • —Each hit of FAIR takes 35f off of the timer (105f for all 3 hits)
  • —Each NSPECIAL projectile takes 200f off of the timer
  • —All other attacks take 100f off of the charge timer
  • FSPECIAL explodes 7 frames faster if an opponent is hit by the attack before cancelling it
  • FSPECIAL only incurs 5f of ending lag if an opponent is hit by the attack before cancelling it
  • FSPECIAL explosion sweetspot damage increased from 11 to 13
  • FSPECIAL explosion sweetspot knockback scaling increased from 0.7 to 0.9
  • Cancelling USPECIAL with the jump buttons while Annoying Dog still has a double jump will use the double jump
  • Cancelling USPECIAL after hitting an opponent will reduce ending lag from 20f to 8f
