Release 2: Resistance Update
Fall in, everyone. They aren’t going down without a fight, so neither will we.

Additions
  • Masked citizens - back by popular demand!
    • Wear the same gas masks that the player can wear, rendering them immune to airborne contagion.
    • Come in citizen, rebel, and medic variants.
    • Will drop their gas masks on death.
  • Armored infected
    • These fortunate (comparatively speaking) zombies were clad in high-impact plating before their turning, making them slightly slower but more resistant to bullets to the torso and head.
    • Infected Combine possess such armor by default, and there is a seperate category of Custom Infected models with armor.
  • Extended third-party support
    • JMod chemical resistance gear is now able to prevent infection from BA2 sources.
    • Respirators are effective for mitigating contagion, but won't prevent infection from barrels or direct damage from air waste. Gas masks can block anything.
  • Zombie target swapping behavior: zombies will sometimes switch targets if they pass by one who is closer to them than their current target.
  • Maximum distance setting for the Horde Spawner, useful on large maps.
  • Alternative attack setting that makes zombies swipe their targets, similarly to BA1's zombies.
  • Enhanced navigation code: zombies will try to avoid water, and lag is significantly reduced over long distances.

Tweaks
  • Infected Combine split into Combine and Metropolice variants; combine use the new armor system
  • Zombies can now bust open func_door_rotating, allowing them to open doors on maps such as rp_southside
  • A message now appears when a zombie is manually spawned on a map without a navmesh
  • Option to disable gib bloodstains
  • Command to delete air waste and gas clouds, executable under Miscellaneous
  • Gas masks now muffle CHAN_VOICE sounds originating from their wearer
  • Modified gas mask breathing sounds to have stronger lowpass
  • Increased time before Zambo's warning from 2 seconds to 5 seconds
  • Reduced headshot damage multiplier to 3x from 4x
  • Horde Spawner zombies delete themselves if they get stuck within 2 seconds of spawning
  • Zombies no longer attack props/doors if they have a direct line of sight with their target, making them stop attacking the object immediately if they come out from behind the cover
  • Resized spawnmenu zombie icons
  • Increased contrast of Horde Spawner and Air Waste icons
  • Removed several running animations that were too jittery
  • Cheaples now replace 1% of Infected Citizens instead of being part of their model list
  • Zombies with a severed arm are easier to escape grabs from
  • Increased the length of crawling stun animation
  • Increased Horde Spawner spawn staggering interval, reducing performance impact
  • A certain easter egg can now be activated year round instead of just during May

Fixes
  • Fixed a Lua error involving zombie search radius
  • Fixed a Lua error when destroying the head of a Custom Infected without a head bone in its model
  • Fixed contagion bypassing gasmasks
  • Gas mask filters now constantly set their own size to the correct quantity, hopefully fixing issues when reloading saves containing them
  • Zombie stun now lasts the proper duration
  • Fixed zombies sometimes playing their water death sound before they take fatal drowning damage

  • Complete VJ Base support
  • Spawner zombie types are now toggleable by checkboxes instead of a list
  • Zombies can now be killed with pulse rifle balls
  • Added convars for prop damage and limbshot damage multipliers
  • Added console command equivalents for gasmask chat commands

Tweaks
  • Changed name of internal team used for killfeed workaround to avoid confusion
  • Chat notifications are given when the user chooses to generate a navmesh with the prompt
  • Moved filter reserve HUD text to reduce clipping on small monitors
  • Renamed Cosmetic options section to Customs
  • Renamed Horde Spawner options section to Spawners

Fixes
  • Fixed zombie deaths not being detected in Horde gamemode
  • Fixed doors reappearing instantly when ba2_zom_doorrespawn is 0 (whoops)
  • Added blank NPC methods to reduce cross-addon errors
  • Fixed NPCs not dropping their weapons when killed by infection

Hotfix 0A
  • Zombies no longer call OnNPCKilled on death, fixing lots of cross-compatibility problems
  • Improved trace detection for zombie object breaking
  • Zombies spawned by spawnmenu no longer play the rise animation
  • Buckshot headshots are more likely to dismember on a fatal hit
