Update: 8 Oct, 2021 @ 3:04pm

Aspero were missing a Royal Favor Value. I figured it was calculated by pawn value to make more skilled pawns worth more. I guess not. That's fixed now.

Royal Favor Value set. Currently the same as base human, which they were balanced against.

Update: 14 Sep, 2021 @ 2:50am

I was incorrect about inheritance. Humans don't inherit from AnimalThingBase, they inherit from basepawn. Reverted the last change. All a case of noticing what I thought was an error an hour before bed and trying to fix it quickly. Sorry

Update: 14 Sep, 2021 @ 2:33am

Did you know humans have 50% toxic resistance by default? I didn't.

  • Modified Aspero Toxic resistance from 0.5 to 0.25 to make them about 50% better at resisting it.

Update: 12 Sep, 2021 @ 1:03am

  • Slightly buffed tail base hp from 15 to 17 to help offset some behavior that makes them slightly more likely to be hit than their size would indicate.
  • Made horns more likely to scar since it isn't really living tissue and should not regenerate quite as readily as skin does.
  • Horns should now properly respect facing direction if one is lost. For example if an aspero only has a left horn and faces east, it will properly appear behind the head instead of in front.
  • One (hopefully last) stubborn backstory missing error that soldier pawndefs still had a miniscule chance of getting should now be fixed.

Update: 30 Aug, 2021 @ 8:18pm

The no shuffled backstory error should be fixed now. Nemonian of the Alien Races discord made solving the issue a lot quicker.

Added 2 new backstories the boring childhood and adulthood. Was originally used to help narrow down the cause of the no shuffled backstory issue, but ended up liking them.

Update: 24 Aug, 2021 @ 5:13pm

* Added tongues to match vanilla features.

* Corrected an error that was preventing Aspero pawns from spawning in outlander and pirate factions, since I fixed that this morning, and if I have to update for tongues I may as well include it.

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WARNING: This update may potentially shuffle bionics in existing saves since Aspero don't use the vanilla body. if it does you can use dev mode and the add and remove hediff buttons to put them back where they belong.

If you have Character Editor that can also correct the bionics with a more user friendly interface.

Update: 23 Aug, 2021 @ 7:54pm

Made adjustments to some natural attacks while working on submitting a CE patch to the CE folks.
* The old head attack now uses the Aspero's horns, and inflicts stab damage.

Damage from Aspero natural attacks should now more consistently indicate what made the wound.

Added Artificial horns to replace damaged or destroyed horns since they now have a proper function.

Update: 14 Aug, 2021 @ 2:58pm

  • Updated the mod title card to Benji's wonderful new one!
  • Removed an old texture backup folder that snuck in when I was fixing the female bodies.

Update: 12 Aug, 2021 @ 5:27pm

Hugely outdated female sprites were not implemented in the XML to be playable, but I found some other mods just check to see if textures are present then allow them to be used anyway ignoring the XML.

Because I didn't want to break people's saves by simply removing the sprites, I fixed up and updated the female sprites to have all the features of the normally usable ones. You still need something like character editor to see them though, since they don't match Aspero lore.

When fixing the above issue I noticed the 4th horn addon had their sprites reversed (right horn sprite was tied to the left horn and vice versa) so I fixed that while I was at it.

tl;dr

  • Female sprites no longer broken, still not normally accessible though.
  • Cosmetic fix to the large horns.

Update: 9 Aug, 2021 @ 3:38am

Scarification was added last patch. Seemed to be limiting to only the body during testing. Of course once I upload I get an example of it floating above the head sprite. Scarification is gone again for now.
