This will probably the last major update to Nep before I finish my next character, but there are a lot of improvements in here! which should bring the character much closer to how I imagined it when I started this project.

FTilt:

  • Reworked. Is now a two stage attack in normal form, that can be canceled into Down or Up Tilt on the first hit, doing Up Tilt this way will change it's properties to a weaker but faster more combo-oriented version of the move that brings you and your opponent into the air. Down tilt is also slightly different when performed this way & both cancels can technically be used in CPU form, although the timing for that is very strict.
  • + Normal Form version angle adjusted for better comboey... comboness?

UTilt:
  • + Startup reduced from 13 frames to 12 frames.
  • + Endlag reduced from 14 frames to 13 frames.
  • - Total Damage reduced by 1.
  • Physics adjusted to be snappier, this shouldn't effect actual gameplay stuff too much.

DTilt:
  • - Startup increased from 5 frames to 6 frames.
  • - Endlag increased from 6 frames to 8 frames.
This move felt a little too fast for how useful it is, and given I'm overall buffing meter gain and movement. a slight nerf should be fine.

UStrong:
  • - Startup reduced to 16 frames.

FSpecial:
  • Critical Edge's dash now moves at an angle, like it actually does in her home series.
  • Critical Edge's angle has been changed from 80 to 60, to match better with the animation.

DSpecial:
  • - Startup increased from 16 frames to 18, as it still feels a bit too hard to react to at full charge.

USpecial:
  • + Startup reduced by 1 frame, again.

Misc:
  • + Normal Form dash physics adjusted, you can actually dashdance in normal form now!
  • + EXE Meter gain on hit increased slightly.
  • Normal Form Nair, Dash, Dodge, and both form's Parry & Taunt animations adjusted.
  • Added an intro, and a small amount of dialog to go with it.
  • A very small update to dialog in general.
  • Made some small tweaks to Nep's A.I, although it's still more artificial stupidity than intelligence...
  • Adjusted the volume of some sounds.
  • Adjusted the hitpause of FAir & UAir.
  • Added a few more color pallets, this was mostly an excuse to add a gold skin. and honestly I don't think most of the new colours look good anyway but more choices is good!
  • Purple Heart's name now shows instead of Neptune's on the victory screen if you win while transformed... even though they're technically the same person.
  • Fixed issues with dialog box length.
  • Fixed an issue certain colors would not display correctly on the win screen. although sadly Purple Heart's victory side bar is still incorrect.
  • Fixed an issue where Forward Air's Third Stage could not be accessed with the right stick or strong buttons in any way.
  • Fixed an issue where EX Down Strong would still take meter when activated with charge.
  • Fixed an issue where an very pointless hidden feature would activate on 0 damage hitboxes.

Special Thanks to peeps on the Extended Workshop and Official Rivals discord servers for answering my coding questions, even though I was half awake and wrote the questions so badly I ended up asking the entirely wrong questions and didn't use any of the advice. But they did try to help and they seem cool, so... sorry for wasting y'alls time but thanks for being kind anyway!.

Random Misc Update, just a few bug fixes and full transform music toggle

  • Fspecial startup reduced by 4 frames.
  • HDD bonus meter gain slightly increased.
  • Fixed a bug with Fspecial not giving jumps back.
  • Fixed a bug with Dspecial applying correct behavior on hit.
  • Added a toggle for the full transformation music
    "Will Be Venus, from Megadimension Neptunia VII"
    accessable by either pressing parry and taunt during round start, or using the cheat in the training mode Munophone.

  • Now generates a psuedo-platform on in the air in normal form like Forward Special.
FSpecial:
  • Now also restores Walljump on successful hit.
  • Increased Base Knockback from 7.5 to 9.5.
  • Knockback Scaling decreased from 0.25 to 0.15.
  • Multihits *hopefully* made more consistent.
DSpecial:
  • Now generates a psuedo-platform on in the air in normal form like Forward Special.
UStrong:
  • Multihits *hopefully* made more consistent.
EX Finishers:
  • Can now also be triggered with the parry button during startup.
  • EX FStrong Horizontal Speed increased from 4.2 to 5.2.
  • EX UStrong angle adjusted.

Normal Form Attributes:

  • Max Fall Speed decreased from 10 to 8.
  • Double Jump Height reduced from 10.5 to 9.5, hopefully this feels better for doing combos.
  • Initial Dash Time decreased 15f from to 14f
  • Initial Dash increased from 5.85 to 5.87

CPU Form Attributes:
  • Initial Dash increased from 8 to 8.2

Down Tilt:
  • Close Hitbox width Increased from 25 to 35
  • Close Hitbox lifetime Increased from 1f to 2f

Forward Tilt:
  • CPU Form version now has a consistent 12 armor instead of starting at 10 and increasing invisibly.

Dash Attack:
  • Normal Form: 3rd hitbox now has the same angle as the rest of the hits.
  • Normal Form: The speed of the dash has been slightly increased.
  • CPU Form: The speed of the dash has been very slightly decreased.

Down Strong:
  • Now correctly increases in hitbox size and damage in CPU form.

Victory Slash:
  • Now stops when parried.
  • Also now goes off ledge.

Up Special:
  • Startup decreased from 11f to 10f.

Other:
EXE Gauge loss on death formula altered, making its loss a bit more consistent across different levels of gauge.
EXE Gauge on hit very slightly increased.
Abyss Rune A now actually increases the air_max_speed stat as advertised.
Removed the weird jank armor breaking code from Up Tilt, as that wasn't even meant to be in the final version.
Fixed a bug where Cross Combo (NSpecial) would throw armored opponents around in random directions.
