minor fix in close quarter14.
updates will continue as normal.

you will notice how the roofs always remain when the whole house is destroyed, mainly seen a lot in close quarter15 in the middle of the town, well, when in (F2) mode and highlighting a model (house) and then in the properties window seen to the right of your screen and scrolling down to (impregnability) there you will see disabled, harmless and full. I won't set the model (house) to disabled so it can then be destroyed as it always results in the destroyed pieces floating but not falling to the ground so I always set the model to (harmless) and oddly enough they still destroy but not how they will when set to (disabled) so naturally I set it to harmless. (check info in mod (paragraph 2).

Update: 3 Nov, 2022 @ 10:01pm

all mini maps have been updated.

new map added, close quarter15 with a mission file. as per there is the endless waves (unlimited wave script) for both sides (allies and germans) but this time I have included a limited wave script so only a limited amount of troops (for both sides) will spawn into the game every 50secs. you can change this delay time yourself and also the amount of loops per 50secs to. I have scripted in (7 loops) but you can change this yourself although I have never gone over ten loops.

if you want to use only endless waves then while in (F3) mode then pressing key (6) will bring up the triggers box (right side) and in there see endless waves and right clicking on endless waves (either faction)and scrolling to (on). for switching off the limited wave (loop script) then same procedure again, right clicking on allie or german loop and scrolling to (off). the loop script I will over slow time be adding into the other mission files to.

also, important to remember is when switching endless waves or loop scripts to on or off well, this cannot be done on the fly when in-game. only before starting a game. same for changing difficulty settings. while in (F3) mode the difficulty settings can be tweaked by pressing (F7) and making your changes in there before you begin simulation via (F1).

updates for all maps and mission files are ongoing.

Update: 29 Oct, 2022 @ 7:57pm

all 14 maps now have new mini maps included.

new map added called close quarter 14 with 2 mission files included.
general tidy up on most maps while all mission files have been tweaked.
updates will continue as normal.

to change size of mini map when in-game (F1) then pressing ctrl-m and once the mini map options window appears then see (size) and there you can tweak the size of the mini map seen at top left corner of your play screen (F1). to close the mini map options window then either again pressing ctrl-m or clicking on the close symbol (+) at the top right corner of window.

scripting information:
to change the amount of time it takes for (both sides) to spawn into the game then while in (F3) then pressing key (6) and see (triggers) at the top box then look for endless_waves and in there there is the endless_germans and endless_allies, well, clicking on either will then grant you the option to change the amount of time it takes for each side to spawn into the game by hovering down to (commands) and there you will see (delay) and there type in your values, such as (30secs delay) for the germans as I prefer they to come in quite quickly on each spawn so they slowly over whelming the map like ants scattering and (60secs delay) for the endless_allies as I prefer the slower spawn so then it is more challenging.

all mission files have been redone.
also over slow time they will be further tweaked while adding other scripting to.
all 12 playable maps are still under slow build development so updates will continue as normal.

all mission files show as v1, v2. (v for valour)

installing close quarter map bundle:
click subscribe then when download finishes start Gates of Hell in editor mode. switch to (F1) then hit esc and head to mods and 'Activate' close quarter, click 'Apply' then open the Gates of Hell level editor and head to either (F2) or (F3) mode and then click on load (top right of your screen) and then scrolling down to (single) and in there are the 12 maps titled as, close.quarter1, close.quarter2, close.quarter3 etc.

important:
When your mini map (top left) begins to fill and there is plenty of ai on the ground and you begin to experience the terrible lag. switch to (F3) mode and press (key-6) then in the box seen to the top right of your screen (triggers) look for endless.waves and right clicking on either endless.germans, endless.russians, or endless.allie (depending on loaded mission file) endless.allie is (usa/eng) anyway, after right clicking then scrolling down to (off) then whatever nation you switched off will then stop spawning into the game. This I would paramountly advise for gamers with lower end rigs to use this option as any terrible lag can cause the game to freeze in an instant resulting in a potential crash?

performance:
tweaking dead ai body count on the virtual battlefield can improve game play performance greatly so when (not in play) and while in (F3) then pressing (F9) and the (mission properties) box will appear and then scrolling down to (entity manager) tick the box next to it then see (count) there you can change the amount of dead ai body count seen on the virtual battlefield when pressing (v) in-game in (F1).

also while pressing azimuth (not sure of this) but somebody in discord mentioned rotation may be a part of the function and map_orientation, well, from my testing this seems to change the overall dead ai body count (layout) as seen on the virtual battlefield when in-game, so pressing (v) when in-game will then show silhouettes of the dead ai body count. both azimuth and map_orientation are separate from the (entity manager) where the dead ai body (count) is tweaked.

here is a great mod which I use a lot for my machine, https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2526531460 the mod is made mainly for those (like me) who have low end gaming rigs so any performance issues then give the mod a shot. it helps dearly especially, when wanting to boost the graphics during simulated play (F1) and capturing important screenshots in high settings. keep in mind, to read the description on the authors profile page as it explains important information on how to use the mod.

also switching off grass settings while in-game can also increase game play performance to. this is done while in (F1) mode and then pressing (esc) on your keyboard (top left) and then scrolling to options - video - scrolling down to (grass) and checking off the box.

difficulty settings:
while in (F3) mode then pressing (F7) will then grant you the option to change your difficulty settings seen at the top of the box then when desired settings have been set then see the change made on your screen top left. difficulty settings can only be tweaked before hitting start in (F1)

tip:
to change light source for overall lighting difference to the map then when in (F1) (F2) or (F3) then press (F6) and the weather parameters window will pop up and see the right panel, parameters, at the very top of the list click on directory 'light' and then underneath 'direction' press the button at the far end '...' and then clicking on the little + inside the green circle and so move the cross and change the overall lighting.
