Changelog

- Armies now consume food unless raiding. Different stances have more/less consumption!
- Armies will passively spread culture
- Fixed intentional bug that forced infantry to act like cav to flank (made redundant by new Battle AI, was also causing issues with infantry not being recruited enough)
- Fixed incorrect/extreme values in army template
- Raiding will have a big debuff to the culture of the raiding party. Turns out raping and pillaging isn't the best way to promote your culture!
- Morale increased globally, fatigue morale penalty decreased slightly: benefits levies mostly due to their lower base morale, to stop them from routing simply from being tired
- Terrain effects reworked, so speed isn't so brutally penalised, while adding more nuanced effects, like debuff to acceleration when in forest

Battle AI improvements

- AI will use width of battle line more effectively
- AI will look to rear attack you, as well as flank you
- upcoming: improved attacking reinforcement behavior, overhauled physics and combat system

Update (chariots)

Fixed issue where chariots had the mass of elephants, but the hitpoints of cavalry

Increased hitpoints, decreased mass considerably

Update: Unit Quality, Unit Size

unit sizes reduced by half, back to original AE values to increase pathfinding, decrease lag

further tweaking of army composition by AI to avoid overvaluing missile units

MAJOR UPDATE:

CDIR Unit Quality Tables Overhaul (how the AI ranks units available to recruit)

- fixed many bugged and incorrect entries that were causing weird armies to spawn

- fixed AOR units having way too low Quality in the tables, thus barely recruited

- fixed Roman roster where too many principes were being recruited


Result:

- armies will include a lot more variety, the player will see more units being used, in an appropriate manner. With the new battle AI, this will make the player have to fight very balanced and well built armies, properly beefed up by AOR units when necessary

Battle Entities (speed, acceleration, turning, unit mass)

Fixed bug where dismounted units had the same mass and speed as cavalry

Unit Balancing

- reduced inflated stats for steppe cavalry, that was making them the most skilled units in the game

Unit Spacing and Formations

- fixed issue where all units had disciplined tight formations: we accentuated difference between barbarian units, and civilized units

- increased variation in spacing among the units


Result:

- differences between unit rosters have been further accentuated! barbarian factions won't be as cohesive, but will swarm around formations with numbers

- civilised factions, Rome among all, will feel far different in the unit's fighting style and formation when compared to barbarian factions

- militia units will feel and look the part, same as levies, skirmishers, light units etc
