Version 1.5.1

Hotfix
Fixed a bug where depending on the location, the mod would be unable to create a Spore Zone.
This also led to corpses being spawned on the location any time the zone was supposed to be created, as well as the spore zone overlay.
Not only will this no longer happen, but now, corpses as well as the overlay will ONLY trigger after the Spore Zone has successfully been created, thus preventing any issues if it's not possible.

New Mechanic: Ground Zero
This thrilling new mechanic adds an extra layer of challenge to the mod.
In each Spore Zone, a random section of the floor will now have a visible crack. This is Ground Zero.
To destroy a Spore Zone, you must not only possess a bomb but also locate this crack and strategically plant the bomb there.
If you're an Admin or playing in Debug Mode, you're exempt from the Ground Zero challenge.
Lastly, if you find the new mechanic too bothersome, you have the option to disable it.

Customizable Explosion Timer
You can now configure the time it takes for the bomb to explode.
There are also sound effects for the fuse and explosion.
This feature is currently purely aesthetic and won't impact gameplay.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed a bug where Admins/Debug Mode users had the option to destroy a Spore Zone even if one was not there.
  • Fixed a bug where the Spore Overlay would continue outside of Spore Zones.
  • Fixed an issue where Players sometimes would continue to cough while outside Spore Zones.

New Loot Mechanic
You can now define your own custom loot table to be spawned in the corpses found in spore zones!
Use the new sandbox option to define which items can spawn, their spawn chance and amount.

This custom loot, along with a Cordyceps fungus, will spawn ONLY to the first Player to enter a Spore Zone.
Call it a reward so to speak. First come, first serve.

Infection Rework
Previously, there was an issue where Players would die in 10 minutes when exposed to Cordyceps Spore Zones, regardless of the Infection Time settings, without getting infected.

This problem is now fixed. The new system works like this: The time it takes for a Player to become infected and eventually die is based on both the Infection Time settings, and their current infection level when they enter a Spore Zone.

For example, if you have 50/100 infection and the Infection Time is set to 20 minutes, you'll become fully infected and die in 10 minutes.
If your infection level is 0/100, you'll die in the expected 20 minutes.

Animated Overlay Effect
The Spore Overlay has undergone a significant transformation. It now comprises numerous images rendered in different positions and opacities. You have the flexibility to switch between static, transitional, animated, or a combination of these overlay modes.

Dynamic Spread
Introduced a dynamic mechanism for controlling the spread of Spore Zones. You can now set a specific start day for Spore Zones to begin spawning. Additionally, there's an option to increase the chance of Spore Zone spawns by a specified percentage each day. Alternatively, you can maintain the mod as it was prior to this update, with a fixed X% chance of Spore Zones spawning from the game's outset.

Changes
  • Sickness from staying in a Spore Zone for more than a few moments will now remain. This is part of the bug fix mentioned below, to counter people attempting to exploit the system to get rid of any sickness they might have.
  • Spore Zones can now be destroyed with "Aerosol Bomb" and "Molotov".
  • Improved the code to be more robust.

Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the Spore Overlay not rendering if you loaded a game while inside a Spore Zone and wearing a gas mask.
  • Fixed exploit where you could get rid of existing sickness by entering and leaving a Spore Zone.

Smooth Overlay Effect
Instead of instantly popping on / off, the spore overlay effect will now appear / disappear smoothly over time.
I am honestly so hyped about having been able to do this mechanic because I can apply this in MANY mods lol

Solved an issue where the overlay would take a significant time to show up upon entering a brand new spore zone.

Spore Effect
This was immensely difficult to make, but here you go! I love you this much 💖
A special effect of spores and some dust will now appear on your screen as soon as you step into a spore zone.

Create Spore Zones
You can now create a spore zone in any building, so long as you are an Admin (In Multiplayer), or have Debug Mode on (In Singleplayer).
To do that, simply right click anywhere inside the building to open the context menu, hover over "Spore Zone", and select "Create Spore Zone".
Notice that, for now at least, no bodies will spawn if you create a spore zone like this.

Destroy Spore Zones
You can also destroy any spore zone, so long as you have a pipe bomb in your inventory.
This requirement will be ignored if you are an Admin (In Multiplayer), or have Debug Mode on (In Singleplayer).
Assuming you meet the requirement, to destroy a spore zone, simply right click anywhere inside the building to open the context menu.
Hover over "Spore Zone", and select "Destroy Spore Zone". This action will take some time to complete.
