Fun, Experimental, And Fine-Tuned
This patch aims to add more casual content to Rudra while also introducing an experimental change to DSPECIAL.
I've also taken community feedback and made some adjustments to further balance the character.
Compatibility
Compatibility with other workshop mods has been a popular request. With this patch, Rudra is now compatible with:
  • Nintendo Wii (Stage by ATalksToSelf)
  • Miiverse (Stages By Flophawk / Dakota / etc.)
  • Mt. Dedede Stadium (Stage by Smiley and Hyuponia)
  • Boxing Ring (Stage by Dors)
  • Kirby (Character by Spamite)
I'll add more compatibility in the future.
Experimental
  • DSPECIAL no longer has solid collision. (In a future patch, the collision will return, but only for Rudra.)
  • DSPECIAL can now reflect projectiles. (Workshop characters code projectiles weirdly, so it isn't perfect at the moment.)
  • DSPECIAL has less cooldown time. (200 -> 100)
  • DSPECIAL's collision detection is no longer exact. (Instead, its just a full rectangle.)
Gameplay
  • Reduced USPECIAL's travelling hitbox size. (100,100) -> (80,80)
  • Reduced FSPECIAL's startup. (16 -> 12)
  • Substantially increased DM FSPECIAL's falling speed.
  • Reduced FSTRONG's base knockback during the falling and landing portion. (9 -> 8)
  • Reduced FSTRONG's rising hitbox width. (60 -> 40)
  • Pushed FSTRONG's rising hitbox forward. (5 -> 10)
  • Reduced the width and height of FSTRONG's falling hitbox by half. (60,105) -> (30,52.5)
  • Reduced the width of FSTRONG's landing hitbox. (112 -> 82)
  • DM FSTRONG now has less hits (4 -> 2) and is much faster.
  • BAIR's startup has been increased (8 -> 12) and recieved animation changes for more readability.
  • BAIR's sourspot is now identical to Zetterburn's FAIR sourspot in stats, excluding the width and height.  (angle: 140 -> 361, bkb: 4 -> 6, kbs: .55 -> .25 , hps: .2 -> .25)
  • BAIR sourspot's width and height have been increased. (25,35) -> (35,55)
  • DAIR's angle and base knockback have been reduced. (280 / 6) -> (270 / 5)
  • Changed the angle of DM FSTRONG's Empowered DAIR. (300 -> 280 why did i make it 300)
  • JAB's first hit now has less base knockback. (4 -> 2)
  • Increased DATTACK's spike hitbox height and reduced its base knockback. (26 / 5.5) -> (36 / 5)
  • Adjusted the position of DATTACK's sourspot. (36,-53) -> (37,-63)
  • When hit by the first part of DATTACK, opponents now perform the spinhurt animation. (It's just a visual change.)
Practice Mode Menu
  • Added Lukaru to the credits section.

Gameplay
  • Reduced DM FSPECIAL's overall damage. (25 -> 15)
Misc
  • Fixed some result screen bugs with Rudra's last alt.
  • Added patchnotes in game. (whoops)
For those unaware, we're unable to patch our characters again until after Genesis. The DM FSPECIAL thing was actually an oversight on my end. I didn't want the move to deal that much damage at ALL, so I ended up contacting everyone I could to see if I could roll out this patch. SBS, an Esports manager for Aether Studios, gave me permission to post it.

Misc
  • Commented out two lines in post_draw.gml that were causing visual glitches against Sheriff Charlie.
  • Made some changes to init_shader.gml to fix a visual bug with some of Rudra's alts.

v1.2

Genesis!
This patch aims to address several of Rudra's more problematic areas balance-wise while tackling some nasty bugs. We've also brought along some fun additions for all players to enjoy.
Gameplay
  • Fixed some wonky interactions where Rudra could infect himself with his own dark matter in mirror matches. This was never intended, so it was removed.
  • Fixed a bug where certain attacks would teleport armored opponents. This was especially noticeable with certain dark matter moves.
  • The dark matter variant of NSPECIAL will no longer send armored opponents into pratfall/pratland.
  • Slightly adjusted how Rudra transitions into dark matter attacks.
  • Fixed a bug where Rudra could perform multiple DM FSTRONG attacks back to back on infected opponents in multiplayer matches.
  • Removed the regular galaxy effect from a DM strong's initial hit. this will still occur if you're using the DSTRONG spike tech, however. It serves its purpose as a visual indicator.
  • Rudra's spikes are no longer crouch cancellable.
  • You can now hold the strong button / strong stick to cancel into the final hit of Rudra's forward air. In addition, tilt stick inputs for the fair cancel are now more lenient.
  • You can now hold the strong button / strong stick to cancel into the held variant of Rudra's down air. In addition, you can also input it with tilt stick.
  • DM NSPECIAL now pops airborne opponents upwards.
  • Fixed a bug where Rudra's three other seasonal alts (besides the Christmas one) wouldn't display rune particles.
  • Added a few hsp restrictions to FSTRONG. This is meant to fix a bug where Rudra can travel off ledges after hitting someone. (Excluding when its charged in the air.)
  • Removed the initial DI multipliers from FSTRONG.
  • Made FSTRONG's initial hit techable.
  • Reduced the height of FSTRONG's landing hitbox (64 -> 50)
  • prat_land_time (special fall landing lag) has been increased. (3 -> 16)
  • NSPECIAL's projectile now refreshes lifetime on parry.
  • DM USTRONG's final hit is now techable on the ground.
  • NSPECIAL can no longer trigger Rudra's custom galaxy.
  • BAIR's sourspot angle has been adjusted to be higher. (140 -> 110)
  • BAIR's sourspot damage has been reduced by 1 (7 -> 6)
  • FSTRONG's total damage has been reduced by 2. (12~14 -> 10~12)
  • DM FSTRONG is now faster in duration, and the finisher hitboxes become lower in damage.
  • DSTRONG's damage has been reduced. (11 -> 9)
  • In combination with the above change, reduced DM DSTRONG's total damage to 16. (22 -> 16)
  • USTRONG has new VFX and SFX when charging. Its knockback has also been adjusted. (8 BKB & 1.1 KBG -> 7 BKB & 1 KBG)
  • DM USTRONG's base knockback has been reduced. (9 -> 8)
Practice Mode Menu
New additions have been made to Rudra's menu, alongside some adjusted tutorial mode text.
  • Added a new "changelog" option to the menu that lets you view patch notes in game.
  • There's now a fifth additional menu song, being the "last stock" variant of the Stars Of Aether stage theme.
  • You can now keep Menu Visual Type 2 on screen with the menu closed by selecting "Menu Visual Type 2 Persist".
Misc
  • Abyss Rune K wasn't working for some stupid reason. It's fixed now.
  • Fixed a rare bug where Rudra's airdodge could become extremely offset from your actual position.
  • Adjusted Rudra's synced variables to hopefully make the secret alt less buggy online.
  • Three new alts have been added - being an alt for Krispy and two Genesis alts.
  • Thanks to Karu, Rudra's CPU will now make you cry. (Seriously, thanks Karu!!)
  • Several other bugfixes have been made to improve your gameplay experience.
