fixed
-microwave and coffee machine are no longer physical (the sprites wouldnt move with them)
-the hallway paintings shouldnt fall down (fr this time)
-changed a majority of the static props so that they cant be picked up with the physgun
-reduced numportals by a bit (yay fps!)
-added a playerclip to the front door
-i realized that the rain particles werent actually showing up, im trying to ensure they get packed into the map :steamsad: (although this time i may have gotten it right, somehow the filesize went up 100mb)



back to working on a new project..

hey yall, been a hot minute since i did anything with this map. i have a new update that i've been working on for a bit. im not sure how this will affect the addons discoverability, im not entirely sure how the gmod workshop works, this update might not even be seen by a lot of people but eh who cares.

i've been trying to make another project based off of a real life location, but i've found that i have a harder time with staying focused and enjoying it rather than when im making my own fictional map with no restrictions and have full creativity.

i do know that this addon has made it to the front page of all time popular maps which is fucking insane. it doesnt even feel real seeing my map on the same page with something as big and popular as gm_bigcity.

as for the people who are experiencing missing textures, theres either 2 reasons its happening: i either didnt pack everything correctly, which wouldnt make sense because some people dont have any erros, or you have conflicting addons that change materials/shaders. I will still do my absolute best to make sure everything that can be packed into the map, is.

if you guys have ANY suggestions for literally anything, i'll think about adding it into the map, but no promises.

-optimization (technically made it worse by adding more to the map, but i further optimized some rooms)
-texture inside the vent upstairs
-spawn location downstairs no longer clipped in chair
-the hallway paintings should no longer fall off the walls (thanks MagnumForce)

-the ceiling fans now spin (its a subtle change, but its pleasant)
-the vent layout is a bit longer now to fit the windowsill thing downstairs
-improved the light quality under the stairs
-backyard trees (bigger and now move with the wind)

-front yard + street (its very hard to see since its raining hard, and im not sure why i put so much detail into it, but its cool ig)

this is most likely the last update im gonna put out for this map, i'll still of course fix bugs

- optimization
- made the main downstairs room a bit larger so it wasnt so cramped
- dimmed the lights in the pool room
- fixed a spawnpoint stuck inside of a trashcan
- fixed pallet location in the boiler room
- fixed a physics prop not being able to be picked up with physgun (????)
- added music to the jukebox (you have to use it first)
- changed the door texture in the garage
- added a greenhouse (accessible through the garage)
- added a walk-in closet to the downstairs bedroom
- also added a vent connecting it and the stairway
- real-time reflections in the poolroom (its actually just a mirror under the floor giving off the illusion. unfortunately this made the bathroom mirror not work at all, i tried everything i could to fix it but the source engine is just a pos)
- nO RIGHT BOOT
- added some missing sounds (should make the map feel a lot more atmospheric)
- moved some stuff in the laundry room
- added a skybox
- added backyard (not accessible, just for decoration)
- i hate mirrors so much sometimes
- AMBIENT OCCLUSION! (I HAD NO IDEA YOU COULD EVEN ADD IT)
- tweaked the tonemap just a bit
- added more things to the garage
- soundscapes
- even more cubemaps with higher resolution

Update: 29 Jan @ 5:10pm

- changed the pantry light (you can also turn it on and off now)
- added missing ai nodes to pantry
- added invisible ladders to the pantry for prophunt lovers
- changed all doors to be a tiny bit faster
- ???
- added a spawn to the kitchen
- moved some stuff around in the garage
- fixed missing brush on the garage door
- added a bicycle to the garage
- why tf is there a left boot model buT NOT A RIGHT ONE
- added some books to the bookcase in the kitchen
- added poptart box in the kitchen (the map will NEVER be the same...)
- added clips around doors to make it harder to get stuck on them
- dining room chairs are physical
- adjusted the volume and range of some sounds
- added a painting next to the pantry
- i didnt like how the vent looked in the downstairs bathroom, so i replaced them with a non-solid vent instead
- the toothbrush in there is physical now as well
- repositioned some spawns downstairs to feel more natural
- added wooden mounts to the guitars downstairs
- added trophy to the shelf in the poolroom
- added trophy to the shelf in the upstairs hallway
- removed unused fog
- tidied up the ai nodes
- changed the car model because someone was not happy with it lmao

- added a bunch of invisible ladders to get on top of stuff for the prophunt lovers

- thought about adding a fishtank
