Fixed a bug where tamed Shadow Creatures would not carry over to the caves or upon loading into a game.

The Nightmare also has a limit of 4 Shadow Creature followers now, along with the penalty of giving them the wrong item being removed.

Tamed Shadow Creatures will now also be attacked by other creatures, allowing you to use them as tanks

Never really asked for but a Rework is here!

The biggest issue I saw with the original character was it felt that it had too many crucial features. I think a shadow creature pet AND night vision was just too much for a character that I did actually intend to be balanced. This rework aimed to fix that by giving the Nightmare a complete rework of how it handles its shadowy pets.

Taming Shadow Creatures - Originally, the Nightmare had a Terrorbeak that would follow them around, and was aimed to be their main source of damage. Sadly, that single Terrorbeak is completely gone and replaced with a new mechanic. The Nightmare is now able to give shadow creatures Nightmare Fuel to tame them and bring them to his side. These shadow creatures will then follow you around and aid you in battles. Giving them the wrong item (Or attacking them when tamed) may put you in a really bad position though so I'd suggest to avoid that.

The Nightmare prefers the Dark - Similar to the original Sanity Swap mechanic where the Nightmare will lose sanity during the day, and gain it during night. Dusk will also give the Nightmare a small sanity boost, along with Caves being an ideal place for this guy due to their dark atmosphere.

Night Vision - It is no more! I am sorry if you liked that feature though I think a lot would agree that it was a buggy mess that I think made the character way too OP. I'm honestly not sure why I originally added it to the character in the first place, so It is removed now. The characters main focus is on taming Shadow Creatures.

Along with these new features, there is a slight change to the characters health, hunger, and sanity. It has been a long time since I've worked on a Don't Starve mod so I do hope it functions correctly without too many issues ahaha. Really sorry guys about the massive delay in this update. I've been somewhat busy and also truthfully... had no motivation to go through the horrible debugging process xD

But! I've fixed the issue with the Night vision not working after death finally so that should be all fine now.

The only other problem I wasn't able to fix is the random nightmare creature somewhere on the map that causes the game to crash when interacted with. I'll likely fix it eventually but the issue mainly is with debugging it, since it would require me to actually search the entire map for it and likely spend many hours constantly running across the map looking for this creature to test a simple change (Debugging is horrible)
So I'm sorry about not fixing it though hopefully it's not such a big issue that it ruins the mod for you.

I also would like to say quickly that Thank you guys very much for supporting my mod! I never would of thought when I first released it that it'd be one of the most popular Don't Starve mods on the workshop... truthfully I'm not sure why you guys like the mod so much xD. But again Thank you

(I'm sorry about the delay of updates guys... been busy.)

- Fixed Issue with NightVision not working after leaving a cave

- NightVision now works within caves

- Fixed Issue with your pet not always respawning after death

- Pet will now respawn 30 seconds after death, even if you are a ghost

- Decreased amount of nightmare fuel your pet gives you on death to 1

- 50% chance of pet dropping nightmare fuel on death

- Fixed issue with you not being able to sleep or open up presents if pet was nearby

Fixed client problems so clients can use night vision and the terrorbeak will respawn after death.

Night vision disables during the day and dusk.
