Update: 25 Jul, 2015 @ 7:12pm

Barbarian units in Encampments should now heal 10% of their maximum hitpoints (as opposed to a flat 10 hp) per turn. This should resolve a rather silly error in Vanilla where Encamped Barbarian units healed to full each turn.

Because Vanilla cities only have 25 hp, I have lowered (raised?) the damage threshold for capturing a city from 12.5% to 25% in Vanilla only. Once a city does not heal up past that threshold, it will be captured to Barbarians at the change of turn.

I have completely rewritten the unit spawn algorithm so that it records spawn selections and only re-evaluates those choices upon technological advancement. There should be substantial performance improvements on the Barbarian turn in situations where the Barbarians hold many cities.

I have added references to the Community Balance Patch DLL, City-State Diplomacy Mod, JFD's Germans mod, and Leuigi's Barbarian Inmersion mod. These references (not dependancies!) should ensure that Barbarians Evolved loads last. City capture will ONLY be disabled if you are using City-State Diplomacy.

If you're very sneaky you will find a reference to the upcoming Barbarians Evolved - Civilization mod.

Update: 21 Jul, 2015 @ 4:05am

I have found an alternative to the missing methods, and Barbarians will once again try to capture cities in vanilla Civilization 5.

Barbarians seem reluctant to attack cities in vanilla, and i'm not entirely sure why.

Update: 20 Jul, 2015 @ 7:12pm

References to Cargo Ships and Caravans have been moved from XML to Lua where checks against DLC can be performed before invoking unit types that may not exist.

Update: 20 Jul, 2015 @ 4:57pm

Due to missing methods, Barbarians will be unable to capture cities in Vanilla. They will still found cities periodically.

Update: 20 Jul, 2015 @ 4:18pm

Removed a reference to Barbarian Horseman, which might have caused some unexpected compatibility issues. The Barbarian Horseman is introduced in the Brave New World expansion pack.
