Note: all the little small updates prior to this one were part of the same update - I've just been fine tweaking it to get everything perfect. This one should now be the final one for a long time.

==Retail Workshop Fix Release==

General

  • Recompiled the entire map set using Black Mesa's new, enhanced compile settings. The original retail workshop release of OaRU actually used the old mod BSPs, so didn't benefit from any of Black Mesa's retail improvements. Now you can enjoy much nicer lighting - particularly with the inclusion of Ambient Occlusion! This will also fix the texture errors and weird transitions.
  • Rebuilt all transitions between BMS stock maps and OaRU maps from scratch (A->A1, A2->B, B->B1, B2->C). This was the main brunt of the work involved in this fix, and the reason why it took so long. I used the current retail version mapsrc, and redid all my modifications to these maps - meaning that downloading OaRU no longer means you end up stuck with an outdated version of the stock On a Rail maps!
  • Fixed the broken aspects of the retail workshop release. This includes:
    • Broken textures
    • Missing models
    • Non-functional sounds
    • AI!
  • Replaced a few old mod assets with the nicer looking, new retail ones. Includes some textures and models in places.
  • Added some entity logic to each new map which should provide a fix to the missing sound/music issues.
  • On B1 and B2, converted a significant amount of brushwork to props - in order to allow the maps to compile properly on the retail engine. This was the other major workload. This will also improve performance and also hopefully reduce instances of the world vertex error (where the world sometimes randomly flicks in and out of existence).
  • Shipping OaRU mapsrc with the mod now. Players can now modify the OaRU maps how they see fit! Note: if you start making general fixes/balance changes or whatnot to OaRU, it may be better to coordinate or send it to me , so we can avoid people posting multiple versions of OaRU on the workshop. That isn't really what I want. Just wanted to give players/modders the chance to do what they like with my work, especially given us on the BMS team actually ship our real mapsrc now too.[/list]
