***Update 4.0.7***
Savegame compatible - Yes

  • Fixed Dithmarschen's missing port

  • Added some Ruthenian localised naming, also fixed a small handful of French and English localised names I did when I was waaay too tired at one point. (Sorry, didn't have time to add any new Germanic localised naming, yet, I'm planning on setting some time aside soon.)

***Update 4.0.6***
Savegame compatible - Yes
(Note: I still intend to address most of the bug reports/suggestions received eventually, but for now I'm just fixing the most crucial ones as I've been rather busy of late)

  • Fixed a stupid mistake making Tir na nGael and Ynys y Cedyrn formation decisions still being visible after their formation.

  • Moved capital position of Waterford by request... it was perhaps a few km off before ;) Also fixed port position of Aberdeen while I was at it.

  • Fixed the history files for the Low Countries between 1475 and 1580... I didn't realise how bad they were, oops!

***Update 4.0.5***
Savegame compatible - Yes
(Note: I still intend to address most of the bug reports/suggestions received eventually, but for now I'm just fixing the most crucial ones as I've been rather busy of late)

  • Adjusted details of forming Tir na gCelteach, and also made it slightly easier to see. I have a plan here now, which will accompany 5.0

  • Slightly adjusted potential and allow details for the two new Celtic union tags

  • Minor change to climates in Northern America. AI will hopefully begin colonising Hudson Bay as intended now

  • Increases bonus to fishing along the Grand Bank by 50%, to match the lesser vanilla local trade good bonuses

  • Fixed a potential (But very unlikely) exploit

  • Added some more detail to/rebalanced slightly some of Beyond Typus's new events and decisions

  • Fixed a handful of rare missing localisations and errors in text

  • Fixed a few more province name mistakes/ambiguities

  • Added a tad more localised naming for Norway (thanks to deserk)

  • Fixed some more localised naming in North America

  • Fixed another minor position mistake

  • Fixed some minor internal messiness that probably wasn't doing any harm, but also doesn't hurt anything being cleaner

***Update 4.0.4***
Savegame compatible - Yes
(Note: I still intend to address most of the bug reports/suggestions received eventually, but for now I'm just fixing the most crucial ones as I've been rather busy of late)

  • Fixed a few stray localised naming mistakes and oversights

  • Fixed a minor oversight causing Canadian culture to emerge slower than intended in provinces with fur, but faster than intended with fish

  • Fixed a small handful of minor positions errors

  • Further adjusted reformation dates & details, also fixed a minor mistake that didn't cause any problems, but prevented some minor improvements I made from occuring properly.

  • Added some OWN specific localised naming in Scandinavia & around the North Sea. Also added some Norse localised naming for a few provinces in North America (Thanks to deserk!). In 5.0, I'll also be adding some more Norse naming for colonial countries.

  • Changes/improved/added some more Brythonic localised naming. 90% + of Britain should now have Welsh localised naming, also using it for Breton & Cornish, because Cetlic solidarity...

  • Added a few missing Gaelic localisations in Britain (Scotland)

  • Changed Gwynedd's trade good from fish to wool

  • Removed the Ottoman core on Ararat

  • Added an effect to the Ottoman's "move capital to Constantinople" decision, which gives them claims on all of Anatolia. With all the new detail in 4.0, they don't seem to care as much as they should about conquering everything.

***Update 4.0.3***
Savegame compatible - Yes
(Note: I still intend to address most of the bug reports/suggestions received eventually, but for now I'm just fixing the most crucial ones as I've been rather busy of late)

  • Fixed the port position of St. Pierre et Miquelon (was formerly not located in St. P & M, oops. At least *I* am the one who noticed this before it was reported, yay!)

  • Fixed the position of ships in the Straits of Lombok

  • Fixed the 2 Derbent/Derbend issue when the region (E Caucasian Mountains) is owned by a Slavic culture

  • Fixed the 2 Bukres issue when the region (Wallachia) is owned by a Turkish culture

  • Fixed the 2 Yelets issue

  • Further adjustments to Catholic Reform Desire mechanics, trying to get it "just right".

  • Changed Transylvania's culture to Romanian. They should now be able to form Romania as intended, though they still do not get automatic claims, as that isn't present in vanilla and I don't have time to adjust those files today.

  • Lowered cost to boost militarisation in Prussia. The many new provinces were causing a faster decay of militarisation than intended and I couldn't quickly find a better way to slow decay.

  • Tonnes of new/better localisation flavour in Brittany. I am doing a Breton playthrough and I was getting tired of playing a weak France =p. Advisor names, army names, fleet names, regnal numbers, leader names, dynastic names, localised naming, etc. etc. etc. are somewhat improved (read, no longer French, but Breton, with a few Welsh & Cornish in Britain). Leader, heir, and consort information is also improved for 1444-1457 starts. More planned for later (event/mission for France to annex Brittany, a few new events/decisions, perhaps some other fun stuff)

  • Further adjusted some of the formation and potential details for the two new Celtic formables. I expect I'll do a bit more work and details with them (and the original TngC from BtP) in the near future.

  • Few typo-s and misspellings fixed in localisations

  • Might have forgotten something? Shouldn't be anything earth shattering, in any case.

Update: 19 Dec, 2016 @ 12:58am

***Update 4.0.2***
Savegame compatible - Yes

  • Fixed several incorrect or incomplete localisations and descriptions.

  • Added a great deal more localised naming, especially for Brythonic cultures in Western Europe and European cultures in North America.

  • Removed a few pedantic localised naming changes in Scandinavia, and generally tried to clean up and streamline localised naming for Norse cultures.

  • Further adjusted Imperial Authority and Reform Desire numbers in an effort to improve the timing, dynamicism, and realism of the Reformation and Counter Reformation events which was previously skewed by all the new Catholic and HRE tags.

  • Few minor changes, such as corrected capital name for a few uncolonised North American provinces, better criteria for a few specific missions, etc.

Update: 17 Dec, 2016 @ 12:28am

***Update 4.0.1***
Savegame compatible - Yes

  • Halved fort upkeep (With new provinces, but the same development, manpower in Beyond Typus is generally higher compared to taxes and production. For example, a 4-4-1 province in vanilla may become 3 1-1-1 provinces in BT. This means that more forts are needed to cover the provinces, but there is less income to pay for them. Hopefully halving the cost to upkeep forts resolves this issue.

  • Changed 1444 culture of Amastris to Pontic from Turkish (A good argument for this was made in comments)

  • Fixed a handful of balance adjustments and events that had minor mistakes in them.

  • Republics may now hold more provinces before incuring a penalty to republican tradition, to account for the greater number of provinces available to the (mostly/all European) large republics. This was suggested ages ago in BtPLClassic, but I only recently realised what the suggester intended.

  • Tweaked Reform Desire and Imperial Authority numbers to account for all the new Catholic and HRE provinces added by BtP, please let me know how it works in game!

Update: 14 Dec, 2016 @ 12:00am

***Update 4.0.0***
Savegame compatible - *No*
(Not the most succinct, but I'm not convinced anyone actually reads these)
-Continued overhaul work, including:[/list]

  • Revisit of Scandinavia
All the new development in Scandinavia in 1.19 allows for a much better map while retaining development levels and balance, so I revisited the area and merged the best of the new 1.19 Paradox version and the old BtP version
  • Revisit of Albania
As Scandinavia above, more detail, simply to not be outdone by vanilla =p
  • NW Africa (~Morocco)
Roughly the modern borders of Morocco are completed, ~28 provinces, up from ~20.
  • Levant
Including Sinai, ~28 provinces, up from ~17.
  • Anatolia
~63 provinces, up from ~31, stretching to just short of the eastern border of the Byzantine Empire at its peak (around 75%-80% of modern Turkey).
  • California
The unfinished area of eastern California (in modern terms, New Mexico, Arizona, Colorado, etc.) are being finished, as well as a handful of border areas in Mexico. The Unmodded American Southwest wasn't nearly so lacking as the rest of my overhauled North America, so the region will only be receiving ~10 new provinces, compared to the drastic overhauls elsewhere, this could be considered more an "adjustment".

-Rebalancing of development to match 1.19 vanilla levels
Intended to maintain game/country balance. Huzzah for a few countries (Burgundy, Poland, German minors, etc.) who didn't previously get much extra dev, sorry to a few other countries (Lithuania, Great Horde, Brittany, Moldovia, etc.) who lost some of their extra dev.

Now, with ~half dozen mild and intentional exceptions, all independant countries with more than 20 dev either have identical development to vanilla, or have (a) new vassal(s) totaling the same total development as is now lacking from the owner. Junior partners' in personal unions and vassals' dev have been adjusted in some cases, but total vassal dev for the owner remains identical, as well. Finally, the 8 Great Powers should now be identical to an unmodded game.

-Area/region overhaul
Adjustments to all overhauled areas and regions to take into account the newly smaller area criteria in 1.19. While the unmodded game has between 2-5 provinces per area, we are increasing this to 2-6, due the generally smaller province size and generally larger number of provinces.

-Handful of new/adjusted events and decisions to encourage/allow (but not *force*) historical development
Highlights include a development effect to the event moving Spain's capital to Madrid, lowered dev bonus from the Turkish decision to move the capital to Constantinople, but higher starting development for the former capital of the Roman Empire, a few decisions affecting Centres of Trade, and a decision to "merge" Swedish and (the new) Gotlander culture, if Sweden is independant and owns Gotlander provinces.

-Celtic culture split, seperating Gaelic and Brythonic peoples
The two Celtic subgroups, Gaelic and Brythonic, are about as different from one another as Portuguese and Venetian, English and Swedish, or Czech and Russian, to put it in terms more familiar with a majority of people. While essentially part of the same cultural background, the subgroups of all 4 diverged wildy from their cousins before the end of the Classical period, so like the other groups (Italic, Germanic, and Slavic, respectively) the Celtic group in now split in two (as opposed to 3/4, like the other, larger, groups).

-Two new tags, Ynys y Cedyrn & Tir na nGael
Accompanying the new Celtic culture split are two new formable culture union tags, currently tentatively named Tír na nGael and Albion (other options include Fenia or Tyrnagael, and Ynys y Cedyrn or Prydain). These represent kingdom level replacements for the old empire level alt-history formable Tír na gCelteach in BtP, which is tentatively being repurposed into a late-game GBR alternative, but that situation may be revisited in the near future.

-Miscellania
Various fixes, bug crushing, details added, etc. too numerous to list and too minor for most people to care.

***Update 3.0.1***
Savegame compatible - Yes

  • Borders adjusted around Hohenzollern
  • Fixed Clandeboye showing no_ruler in the startup screen, and not having the right ruler in game (I forgot to finish the file)
  • Fixed text placement for a few provinces
  • Implemented some ai weights based on ruler personalities for new events and decisions
  • Refined some event triggers, ai decision weights etc.
  • Changed the triggers and MTTH for a few Métis events, and also fixed a bug where Métis culture was appearing rarely in places it shouldn't
  • Rather dramatically changed the requirements to form Tír na gCelteach to make it more dynamic (despite plans to remove it soon)
  • Also implemented a nice boost to capital dev if one is able to found the (now harder to found) Tír na gCelteach.
