Hey Rushin Russian! Thank you for putting in the hard work on the back end to keep my map going strong. That is awesome to see it still being enjoyed :) Cheers man!

Neat! I'm just awaiting for their reply. Unless you want to join our own discord server and discuss with them for further details

Honestly I wouldn't know. If they feature a custom theater that supports that many players and the game is accepting it without issues then it should be fine. This doesn't really depend on the map. If there are more players than the number of available spawn points, the rest might spawn in a wrong location (though it happens exclusively to the bots, I think?) or they'd share a spawn point with another player which is pretty much a non-issue (this is more likely but needs testing). I could still just extend the player count support of my maps from 16 up to 20 and recompile them if you folks request this, though everything will probably work well enough as is.

I was just wondering if that's really possible. That excessive player count was the admins' preference and I'm enquiring on behalf of them who are in charge of an 19-player coop server (I'm not one of those admin btw) since they are too busy or probably didn't catch up with the latest Workshop releases for this game.

=F|A=Izygowie: the map originally featured 8 player spawns per objective, I've extended it to 12, then to 16 just to be safe. Now you made me realize that 19-player coop servers exists; even 32-player ones do. I can push for 20 spawns per objective, but does it make sense to do so? The map is far too small, narrow and linear for such extreme player counts.
Izygowie 19 Feb, 2020 @ 11:31am
So it can only support up to 16 players only? What about around 18-19 players?
Rushin  [author] 18 Feb, 2020 @ 4:10am
UPD Feb 18, 2020: Extended support for up to 48 bots and/or 16 players.

UPD Feb 13, 2020: more polishing + included missing decals.

The reason Jingle Bells were playing is because you were still subscribed to the other version(s) of winter_rescue on workshop that is/are in VPK format - it was loading the sounds from there. I have now packaged the sounds (along with map voting image and other stuff) into aof_mapdata.vpk (file id 1989120573), which is now a required item.

I've just pushed an update that slightly adjusts cache F and prevents bots from triggering the IED explosives. I've also uploaded three other of my edits that I've been working on for a while, feel free to check them out as well. Thank you for testing this upload!

Okay, we're currently on your map. It's running good, Jingle Bells is playing and the bots seem to know the neighborhood pretty good, they're not getting stuck or lost. Everything looks good so far.
Good Job.

I owe you an apology.
I have a different version of the map on my server. I probably switched when this was having issues but had forgotten I did so.
Sorry about the bad intel. I should have checked the id number before posting.
The version I'm currently running is 1380517277 winter_rescuefix. I believe it's just the .vpk file with the other files included.
I would prefer having the normal file structure if possible so I will upload your version again and try it out.

But I do appreciate all the work you and every modder take the time to do.
I tried to learn how to mod the game and realized pretty quick it was way beyond my skill set. So people like myself would be stuck with the vanilla game if it weren't for you and the others.

Some regulars and I were on the map on my server a few days ago and it seemed fine then.
Bing was crooning out the Jingle Bells, the bots seemed okay and the map looked normal.
Regarding the bots: I only have 10 bots on my 16 slot server so I don't know if that would affect their navigation since there are less bots spawning in fewer spawn points.
We'll check it out again sometime soon and I'll report back if anything seems abnormal. Or if it's improved over the last time we were on it.

Thanks. I've just pushed another update with more improvements (changelog in the description above). Jingle bells still don't work but soon they will, along with the map voting image. I only did a basic test of the map though; please report issues if you find any. I'd also love to know if the map does "feel" better now overall (with improved spawn points and bot navigation).

The work you're doing is appreciated.

Map updated. It will now properly work with the newest version of Insurgency. I've also massively improved bot navigation, so they no longer will get stuck or suicide all the time.

I have this version installed on my server.
The background view since the 5/4 update seems like a bad acid trip in negative format.
Gameplay seems normal but trying to focus on bots with the background terrain morphing in black and white is a bit much.
That damn update broke a lot of maps and mods. Is this something that can be fixed? Or do I have to scrap this map too?
