Necro-post! FART!
gordon861 10. okt. 2022 kl. 1:18
Not sure this MOD is even needed (or even works still) now as the default Earth no longer has uranium on it.
Volg 9. okt. 2022 kl. 17:11
a bit late on the comment section, but... Pair this with a mod that makes ice only spawn on planets with an atmosphere, thus forcing you back down to the planets, and you have a great cycle to make a long game more interesting.
Nep-Nep 5. feb. 2021 kl. 21:14
Ik I'm over a year late to respond, Splitsie, but what I meant was "you fixed something that was a controversial change to vanilla planets made by Keen" lol. My apologies.
MoonLiteNite 24. dec. 2019 kl. 17:50
My first world i had downloaded this map. Just reading and maybe an hour of youtube videos and i saw how OP Uranium was. Was a great mod, glad the devs made this be the norm!
Katarina [WolfCraft Industries] 22. sep. 2019 kl. 16:01
and i must say, before that patch it was a really great experience because you were only able to generate power by using solar panels. so you really had to watch your power consumption
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 22. sep. 2019 kl. 14:50
Only controversial to some, for me was a very welcome addition since it was something I'd been doing to the game for 2 years before that patch came out :)
Nep-Nep 22. sep. 2019 kl. 2:36
Congratulations. You made something that became a controversial change to vanilla planets by Keen.
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 4. apr. 2019 kl. 15:26
Yes, gold is on the planet. As this is an older version of the ore map you will almost certainly find it in the same area you've found silver though it may be deeper
Silver-Eagle 2. apr. 2019 kl. 20:33
Is there gold on this planet? Since the latest game update more blocks are using gold.
I know that there is not any platinum based upon the series.
Have found everything besides gold on this planet.
derFuchsi 24. mar. 2019 kl. 3:08
You are a visionary :). This setup is now standard for survival. Just bought the game at release and found out that most ship tutorials are useless now because they mostly use small reactors.
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 17. mar. 2019 kl. 18:38
You're welcome, I'd been meaning to do it so was grateful for the reminder :)
Lucius Julius Cornelia 17. mar. 2019 kl. 16:31
Wow, wasn't expecting such a quick response! World works perfectly now, thank you! Keep up the great work on the series, by the way. Been following since episode one!
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 17. mar. 2019 kl. 16:11
Should be fixed now, there was a missing definition in the planet file for windspeed that I added in and at least in my test, it worked to fix the turbines in a world created with the old broken version :)

One thing to note (for those unaware), unless you're playing on a scenario that already used this planet (like my Survival, Maybe start) there's not any advantage to this planet any more since uranium has been removed from planets by default now :)
Lucius Julius Cornelia 17. mar. 2019 kl. 15:43
Has anyone had any trouble using wind turbines on this planet? I've had a save I've been working on for a while now, and I'd like to include wind turbines, but for some reason, my wind clearance says none, even after going through all the standard work arounds.
Katarina [WolfCraft Industries] 21. sep. 2018 kl. 8:29
the idea with editing the deep ores mod might be a good idea, i just need to figure out how to do it because i never modded in SE. and if that doesnt work, i will play normaly with the deep ores mod but i wont mine uranium then :)
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 21. sep. 2018 kl. 6:09
Sadly I don't think they'll work together as I suspect they both overwrite the same information. Whichever one is last (I think) in the load order will be the one used. To change that you'd have to modify the deep ores mod itself to get rid of uranium on the earth like planet - that change would be easier than adding the deep ores function to this mod
Katarina [WolfCraft Industries] 21. sep. 2018 kl. 5:26
anyone knows how to use this planet with the deep ores mod? i spawned this planet in with all the mods but it seems like that the deep ores mod doesnt work with this planet because the ores are not deep in the ground, they have normal spawn hight
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 4. aug. 2018 kl. 17:05
Off the top of my head I can't recall, but you should be able to find them through keen's original guide for making planet mods https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=566387835
Dieselholic 4. aug. 2018 kl. 13:41
Sorry to be such a pain, but could you point me in the direction of these files? This doesn't seem too bad.
Six 4. aug. 2018 kl. 13:29
I am sometimes mostly sort-of serious, usually.
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 3. aug. 2018 kl. 22:20
The way I did it here was to modify the planet's definitions and replaced all references to uranium with iron, so it should be relatively easy to do.
Dieselholic 3. aug. 2018 kl. 19:21
Splitsie, is there a fairly easy way i can take a modded planet and take the uranium off of it as you have done here?
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 31. juli 2018 kl. 15:07
I think you might be mistaking a joke name for something serious...
Six 30. juli 2018 kl. 19:30
Right... like the perpetual machine fallacy. You can't get anything remotely close to 100% input = 100% output. In otherwords, you need fossil fuels (big time) to manufacture the various solar cell components, naturally occuring mineral ores (some of which are found deeper underground, not to mention the plastics (all hydrocarbons). In otherwords, it wouldn't happen.

Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 19. maj 2018 kl. 15:08
You'll need to use the survival maybe scenario, or what's probably better is to use the planetary installations mod to add some bases to your current game (you'll need to install it and one of several packs that are available that add bases)
WovNyx 19. maj 2018 kl. 2:18
How can I encounter random enemies like your videos? I made planet as in discription. but found no enemy base while playing about a month.
Th232r 10. maj 2018 kl. 18:16
Uranium is renewable, like your precious photons.. it's created by stars... cheers :)
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 25. apr. 2018 kl. 3:17
No worries, hopefully you can get it working nicely :)
Sgt.Morrigahngaming 25. apr. 2018 kl. 2:55
ok :D then it have to be the mods that remove the respawn ships .. I've tested another server ( not mine ) that have no mods, but scripts available .. and atleast I have no lag while running scripts :)

Thanks for the fast reply mate... looking forward for your next video btw :D
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 25. apr. 2018 kl. 1:47
Since all I did was replace all the uranium with iron I wouldn't have thought it would have any impact at all...
Sgt.Morrigahngaming 25. apr. 2018 kl. 1:15
Splitsie, do you know how this will act out on a mp server??
I'm running this mod, bundled with a small mod that remove all repsawn ships except the planetary lander .. (that's the only 2 mods we have ) and we are experiencing insane lag, rubberbanding and such .. also bundled with rotor spazzing out when controlled by scripts like Isy's Solar, or Vector Thrust and more...
I've tested a few servers with no mods on, and they seem, so far, fine with scripts... but sadly not ours that is running this mod. I so would love to keep it, as no uranium made it a tad more challenging :D
Blackvertigo1 28. mar. 2018 kl. 9:52
Physics engine won't allow water because of broken engine status.

err. Miner Wars engne.
STRIKER 28. mar. 2018 kl. 2:17
actually the ice lakes are supposed to be water but trying to do that with the game's physics engine is challenging to it is technically hot enough to sustain life and water and i will agree with Blackvertigo that most uranium is deep, in the solid earth core in fact, as for the survival aspect, i'd like to ask, since most civilisation would be able to use the wind, the rivers, géothermia, plantlife and fossils for fuel, while in space engineers there is only the nuclear reactor, are you basically planning on going at this hard mode or use another energy source.

i don't really play survival, i much prefer creating tanks, war vessels and civilian stuff in creative but i am curious
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 27. mar. 2018 kl. 16:57
I've added gordon861s very helpful instructions to the description and also put a bit more info on other ways you can get the planet into your own game.

As to whether the planet is cold? All the surface water is frozen so I guess it's fitting :P
To me that's irrelevant though as I removed the uranium for the sake of gameplay and I'll sacrifice most things in a game for better gameplay (in this case it's just a play style I wanted to try).
Blackvertigo1 27. mar. 2018 kl. 15:24
I think he's getting at -minable- Uranium, or Uranium deposits MUCH deeper than normal.
STRIKER 22. mar. 2018 kl. 3:50
you do realize a planet with no Uranium would be could as all hell, you do realize the Uranium Toll is the main source of heat for the planet Core
Gammel-Gandalf 17. mar. 2018 kl. 10:26
Yeah, thx I found both, before writing.
Though I didn`t realize your link is a more simple load.
Got it running now.

And Actually I thought about that Step by step instruction, added up there.
It will get hard to find in the comments later on.

Thx, again.
gordon861 17. mar. 2018 kl. 9:34
I posted step-by-step instructions to use the SEeditor in this thread further down (Nov'17), but there is also the link to a Solar System that is totally stock except for using this earthlike planet.
Gammel-Gandalf 17. mar. 2018 kl. 9:08
Just a thought before I try and paste this into a new world.
Could you add the steps for it into the description ?

Might lessen the confused comments. ;)
gordon861 17. mar. 2018 kl. 2:20
@Chaoskin - There is a post further down (from November 2017) explaining how to swap this planet over in the Solar System start, and a link to one already done.
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 15. mar. 2018 kl. 23:54
You're exactly right gordon861, you need to add this as a separate planet in creative mode, it doesn't replace the vanilla earth planet :)
gordon861 15. mar. 2018 kl. 10:58
It should just be a planet with no mineable Uranium below the surface. I think someone mentioned a rock on the surface.

I loaded this planet into a solar system map and didn't find any uranium ore.
Chaoskid 15. mar. 2018 kl. 10:13
is this a mod or a world im stell finding uranium in my world
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 19. feb. 2018 kl. 16:34
That sounds about right, and I completely agree with you on the uranium. So much more fun to have a real power challenge :)
Kevstra 19. feb. 2018 kl. 11:57
Apparently the solar panels only check for an obstacle within 100m.

https://forum.keenswh.com/threads/solar-panels-get-full-power-output-at-night-side-of-moon-planet-has-savefile.7378454/

I just need to make my tower shorter. Thanks for the Earth Renewables! Survival is more fun when power is a struggle and Uranium is OP. Cheers!
Kevstra 19. feb. 2018 kl. 11:51
Shoot! Any way to fix it? Seems to work fine on another survival world I'm playing... Perhaps just because I've built my solar panels really high off the ground? It's sorta killin' my immersion. :(

Love your videos by the way Splitsie. :)
Splitsie  [ophavsmand] 18. feb. 2018 kl. 20:14
That's a known issue with the solar panels, planet voxels that are too far away (the ones on the other side of the planet) won't block the light from getting through. The voxels directly underneath you don't block light from that direction as they only block one way :(
Kevstra 18. feb. 2018 kl. 20:04
Must be an issue with the update then and not the mod.

I'm also finding for some reason that the solar panels are generating full power in the black of night!
