Is this mod broken?

I am getting an issue when I increase the squad size to 6. If I get back from a mission and I am able to promote a player or upgrade weapon, when I try to upgrade the weapon, I get a message that I cant, though it tells me I can. When I try to promote the player, the game freezes then eventually bombs out. However, I can still promote and upgrade the weapon of one of my original 4 players.

Putting this out there for anyone whom might be in the same situation. The III tier isn't working for me, but the IV does. So I can get an 8 man team, but not a 7 man team. In the select screen on 6 spots are displayed. For the 8 man team it shows the correct number (8) of spots.

If you have WOTC but are playing a non-WOTC game, you must unsubscribe from the WOTC version of this mod. It should then work. (This worked for me)

I can confirm that this mod works perfectly if you don't have wotc

Disappointgly, doesn't appear to work consistently. In the squad selection screen, I see the upgraded size, but if I try to change or edit the squad members, the UI gets all messed up. It stops displaying 7 selection boxes and only displays 4 and the 4 it displays don't map to the squad member displayed.

@LucMGamer: Try "Robojumber's Squad Select". You'll need to disable the UI code in this mod using Mod Config Menu.

i need some help. i could still only choose 6 ops in the mission setup screen but then i had 7 ops in the mission like i should have so it's just a matter of not displaying it in the mission setup screen. really liking this mod tho

Btw, just because it isn't working for YOU, doesn't mean it isn't going to work for everyone, it works both ways.

A Gamer: Most likely there is a conflict with another mod, or Steam hasn't actually downloaded the mod yet. Try starting it with the alternative launcher [github.com].

just because it works for you doesn`t mean that it works for everyone.

Do these mods work in multiplayer?

I installed this and xcom forgot to bring my squad on gatecrasher. 10/10 ign

@r_haarstad: There is an option to disable the changes to the layout screen. Use 'Mod Config Menu' to change it.

In case anyone has the same problem I did: the squad equipment screen boxes are off center, this mod seems to conflict with any other mod that affects that screen too. I had to get rid of my "Squad Cohesion" and "What enemies are on the upcoming mission (can't remember the title)" before the boxes would align properly, but this mod is worth the two uninstalls.

Does this require a new game?

Alright so I read down through some of the messages from other people about how it wasnt working. I unsubscribed to your WotC version (the original before you changed it) and now they're showing up. So ignore my previous comment.

@BlueRaja Are the Squad Size 3 and 4 upgrades supposed to show before you have unlocked them? because they are not showing for me at the moment, hopefully they will once I unlock them.

It is working for me, but after i purchased squad upgrade 4, everytime i make a change in my team it bugs and shows me only 4 soldiers

This mod is not working. I unsubsrived from the previous version, and then subscibed to this one. Is there some conlict between the two having subscribed to both, or because I play both Base game and then Wotc?

and LWtoolbox was the culprit for the CTD on pressing the arrow keys (when i was trying to scroll the soldier panels)

nevermind. looks like i missed seeing the horizontal scrollbar (especially since it wasn't below the soldier info but embedded)

Anyone know a reason why the upgrades won't appear? I unsubscribed from the wotc version like is mentioned below, but I'm not able to get the upgrades. Tried starting a fresh save as well as going from an old one.

hmmm...well, i must say your GTS upgrades show up fine. Likewise the MCM-legacy screen shows your mod's options all fine and dandy.
Except, in squad loadout i don't see the 7th soldier in the background on autofill.

tried disabling the "ultrawide" mod - didn't fix the CTD when attempting to get 7th soldier slot visible
I'm running longwar toolbox, which i assume doesn't have it's own "larger squads" upgrades?

I don't have any error messages on my new game. The mod seems to be working fine :)

I unsubscribed from your updated version and subscribed to the legacy version. It didn't work on my saved game though. An error message popped up each time I loaded saying I was missing a mod and the game may not work. I ignored the message and played on. Saved. Reloaded, ignoring the message again and just kept doing this until I conquered the game. Yay me!

I've started a new game without changing any setings and hey presto - the Legacy version works.

No worries BlueRaja - I'm grateful for your mod and probably wont get WotC until I get a better pc/laptop to play it on. Likely matching a lot of other peoples position too ;)

That was the issue for me, The WOTC mod was still subscribed (but not selected). After unsubscribing to the WOTC mod it works fine again. Thanks for the help.

Yup that is it they both show up but you can't be subscribed to both

There should not be any error messages if you unsubscribed from the old mod and subscribed to this one, because they both use the same mod-ID (possibly also a mistake because that means people who want to play both legacy and WotC can't subscribe to both mods simultaneously. If I could do it over I think I would have just created a new mod for WotC)

After BlueRaja updated the original mod to WotC compatability, it failed to work in everyones saved games. That was a mistake and other mod authors have also made it. Lesson learnt no doubt. In future I hope modders will copy, update and rename with a new mod listing ;)

I can vouch however that this mod (Legacy) does work and I have other mods working with it. Credit to BlueRaja for making a great mod.

Anyone having a problem with the mod I suggest checks the troubleshooting forums. I personally did nothing more than unsubscribe from the updated mod and subscribe to this (new) mod then start a new game. My old saved game I still managed to complete too - I just ignored the error messages on loading :)

well it still doesnt work for me and i dont own WOTC, and i dont intent to either, but for some reason unstead of me having the upgrades i seem to already start the game with a squad size of 6, i have no other mod that adds a squad size of 6and i have no access to upgrades, this mod has officially on drugs.

It's probably something on our end. For me it worked for my save games then I started war of the chosen but went back to normal xcom 2 since most mods were not working that's when it stopped working for me. I've tried deleting the mods and redownloading and deleted config files verifying cache but didn't help I'd rather not do a clean install.

What sort of setup could cause this, is it something on our end we can fix?

I tried to look into all the reports of this mod not working tonight, but I couldn't reproduce them. When I subscribe, I correctly see the new upgrades in a new game.

If someone can send me a save file where the issue is reproduced I'll look into it, but I strongly suspect it's a setup issue.

My game isn't crashing, there's just no upgrade squad size 3 & 4 in the GTS in existing and new game files

edit: "in the GTS". But Xcom no longer has an issue with loading the save file, so there's no missing content - at least not your content (Grimy's loot box mod doesn't work as well). Again, this is with the other version, this one crashes.

Well what do you mean classic? I do not own any of the dlc content, but of course have a legal copy of the game in steam and it was "updated" after WotC came out.
And yes, I use about 24 mods, everything was fine until 08.31., and since your mod crashes the game (this version). The rest works fine, the game starts and works with the other mod (which I was subbed and which is now the dlc-version), but after the update I can no longer find the new option is the GTS.

Are you sure it's this mod causing the crash? Right now I am not able to launch the classic XCOM 2 version at all, even with all mods disabled.

My game failed to start with this mod. It starts with the WotC edition but there're no new options to increase size. This one freezes the game before main menu. So 0 out of 2 for me =/
