Glad you got it working. I'll be here if you need any more tech support.
GUNZ MAN 17 Oct, 2024 @ 4:59pm
hey so idk what i did but its working for me now. im using the red revamp mod along with choose spawn location. I took a look in my files and read but never moved anything
GUNZ MAN 17 Oct, 2024 @ 4:16pm
alright you got me there lol
how do i do that simple task?
Usernamehere  [author] 17 Oct, 2024 @ 1:01pm
Can you check your game's log files? It seems unlikely that anything would be wrong with the addons without a mod conflict but who knows.
GUNZ MAN 17 Oct, 2024 @ 12:11pm
I was using the choose spawn location with it with nothing else
Usernamehere  [author] 17 Oct, 2024 @ 9:57am
It's all good. So the first thing that comes to mind is that it might be a mod conflict, are you playing with a long mod list?
GUNZ MAN 17 Oct, 2024 @ 8:34am
Yes they are downloaded and enabled when selecting the mods on the mods menu.
Sorry for the late reply
Usernamehere  [author] 16 Oct, 2024 @ 5:33pm
Working on these issues right now. For GUNZ MAN it's possible that the mods didn't download or unpack correctly, but if they're downloaded and enabled and missing from the game then we have a different issue on our hands.
Sontag 16 Oct, 2024 @ 5:14pm
I've been having this issue as well. For me the long sword and ODST are missing from the production list in every city. Also missing from the list are jets and XCOM units. I was the same problem last week with every UNSC unit but I deleted all the game and mod files and reinstalled and now the hogs and scorpion are showing for me.
Usernamehere  [author] 16 Oct, 2024 @ 10:22am
Missing? From where?
GUNZ MAN 16 Oct, 2024 @ 8:22am
The unsc mod its self works and i dont have any issues with it. The add on mods for that civ such as scorpion, spartan and warthog are just missing
Usernamehere  [author] 15 Oct, 2024 @ 6:36pm
As long as both mods are enabled simultaneously it should work. Can you tell what's going wrong?
GUNZ MAN 15 Oct, 2024 @ 5:13pm
Hey im just now getting around to finding this. Im having trouble using the addon units for UNSC and was wondering if you had any idea as to what im doing wrong
Usernamehere  [author] 12 Oct, 2024 @ 8:40pm
I sent you a friend request. Happy to help you change the color.
Sontag 12 Oct, 2024 @ 7:04pm
Sorry for the delayed reply, if you have the time i'd like to learn how to modify the right files.
Usernamehere  [author] 22 Aug, 2024 @ 9:37pm
Yes, but it'd require modifying the mod files. I'll walk you through it if you'd like.
Sontag 22 Aug, 2024 @ 9:31pm
Is there something I can edit to change the color of the border? I'm always losing track of my borders in forests.
Usernamehere  [author] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 2:34pm
If you have a software to edit .dds files outright you can add your own icons to the icon sheet. You could either overlay your images over the default ones, or add new ones in new slots and change the code of the mod accordingly.
Madgadget [LAG] 21 Jan, 2024 @ 12:24pm
yeah I figured out how to change the png files to .dds- however, can I add the images into the icon packs somehow?
Usernamehere  [author] 20 Jan, 2024 @ 6:18pm
You could always pick up a photo editing software that has the capacity to convert .png files to .dds files - like Paint.net which is the one I use for all my mods. Changing a file extension manually through renaming doesn't usually have the desired effect.

If you're thinking of an official customization option inside the game or the mod, no I don't think so. But there's nothing wrong with changing the mod files directly.
Madgadget [LAG] 20 Jan, 2024 @ 4:03pm
Is there a way to replace the art used for loading screens and the civilization leader art? Besides just, downloading a png and renaming it as a .dds file

Sorry about the fact that it took about a week - I fixed the issue you specified, but then found more things I wanted to fix or improve and so worked on a much bigger patch for both the UNSC and the Covenant, which had many similar issues with them. Version 5 of both the UNSC and the Covenant have now been released, and I can confidently say that the qualities of both mods have been improved across the board.
Usernamehere  [author] 7 Oct, 2023 @ 2:08pm
Oh hey great news - turns out the Covenant has the same exact issue as the UNSC mod, which I just fixed. Looks like the Covenant will be getting a Version 5 today too.
Usernamehere  [author] 7 Oct, 2023 @ 11:39am
Also it turns out that's a known issue right in the Known Bugs section, but it's been so long that I forgot that I already knew about it. Either way, I'm getting Version 5 together now, and it will no longer be an issue in that version.
Usernamehere  [author] 7 Oct, 2023 @ 11:00am
I have found and fixed the issue. I'm also going to throw in a couple of quality-of-life improvements and changes to the mod as well for the next version, so just give me a few hours or so and I'll release Version 5 of the mod.
Usernamehere  [author] 7 Oct, 2023 @ 10:27am
I'll look into that right now. Which version of the mod are you using?
=L33T 720= 6 Oct, 2023 @ 11:46pm
There's a error on the mod
if another player or AI it's controlling the UNSC and you go to "Victory Progress" or the cultural influence screen, the game sends a error message window and the UNSC icon becomes a red square
Usernamehere  [author] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 3:12pm
In that case, I doubt that's the mod's fault. The game should not be referencing the UNSC's diplomatic response code to choose a response for a vanilla game leader. The fact that it is has nothing to do with the mod, and it's clearly an issue with the vanilla game itself, not the mod.

Civ V can be a little screwy like that sometimes, honestly. Had a similar issue with diplomatic responses before, only it was reversed - the modded Civ would use default generic responses instead of the ones I wrote for it, even though my custom responses are all coded and set to have a 500% chance of being chosen over the other options.
Madgadget [LAG] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 2:22pm
I'm playing as the UNSC, and I was talking to Alexander
Usernamehere  [author] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 12:48pm
Are you playing as the UNSC? What was the other Civ you were talking to?
Madgadget [LAG] 21 Feb, 2022 @ 12:26pm
Hey, so I had another question but this time regarding a bug I've had for a bit. Whenever I interact with another civ, e.g.- returning a unit, telling them to stop spying on me- They mention my nation instead of their own. Like saying, "Thank you for returning this unit, the UNSC will forever be grateful". Was just wondering if this is know/already has a fix?
Usernamehere  [author] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 8:51pm
That's actually quite a common opinion. I share it - that's why I'm not interested in Civ 6. Civ V is better in every way.
Florida Man 19 Feb, 2022 @ 8:05pm
Ngl, I think Civ 6 is inferior to 5 but that's just my opinion
Madgadget [LAG] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 5:21pm
That's fair. Thanks for the swift response though!
Usernamehere  [author] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 5:13pm
Unfortunately not. I'm not interested in playing Civ 6, let alone making any mods for it. My apologies.
Madgadget [LAG] 19 Feb, 2022 @ 5:12pm
HI there! Do you plan on bringing this mod to Civ 6? Love the mod so I wanted to know if there were any plans for it to be ported. Thanks in advance!
Usernamehere  [author] 6 Feb, 2022 @ 1:38pm
I appreciate it.

You have a good day too.
scottusa1 6 Feb, 2022 @ 1:37pm
I guess that's a fair statement. Fair enough considering New Mombasa is the only city we ever see on Earth. Again, it up to you. This is your mod, not mine. Still looks great though.

Have a good day. Laters.
Usernamehere  [author] 6 Feb, 2022 @ 9:41am
I didn't know that. You learn something new every day, I appreciate it.

However for these mods I often believe it's better to have things that are easily recognizable, rather than things that are technically correct. New Mombasa is the most iconic and memorable UNSC city in the games but how many Halo fans actually know that Sydney is the UNSC's true capital and headquarters? I didn't until just now, after all.
scottusa1 5 Feb, 2022 @ 10:50pm
If you ever update this mod, I'd suggest changing the Capital city to Sydney. That's where the UNSC HQ is located in lore.Other than that, this mod looks great.
Snip3s 31 Jul, 2021 @ 12:09am
Fair
Usernamehere  [author] 30 Jul, 2021 @ 11:07pm
Yeah, I wish I could have the unit models in too.

Problem is, I haven't learned how yet. It would take ages to learn and master and it would be a pain the whole way, even after I learned how to do it.

That said, I'm not ruling it out in the future, but for now I'd prefer to make mods using my existing skills now rather than invest a ton of time and headaches into learning a new skill.
Snip3s 30 Jul, 2021 @ 9:42pm
Its a pity you dont have the models for the Civ that would make this mod 10 stars in my book.
Usernamehere  [author] 11 Jul, 2021 @ 12:13pm
Halo is a great franchise though, it definitely deserves a good amount of representation in the Civ V workshop :D
TheGreatUnknown 11 Jul, 2021 @ 10:03am
not asking you too but just geeking out a little
Usernamehere  [author] 10 Jul, 2021 @ 10:38pm
In the future I might make Tartarus - The Brutes and maybe 343 Guilty Spark - The Forerunners (just Sentinels, really) so the possibility for more Halo civs is out there.

Life's not been kind to me recently though so I've not had a lot of time to work on Civ V mods at all. It's definitely a possibility though for me to make some more Civ V mods.
TheGreatUnknown 10 Jul, 2021 @ 9:18pm
but this is a great mod im going to set up a late game in a bit and just play with the units

but now i want so much more halo civs
margaret parangosky

Usernamehere  [author] 10 Jul, 2021 @ 8:54pm
Yeah, starting in the Information Era is fun in its own right but starting in the Ancient Era also has its fun perks
TheGreatUnknown 10 Jul, 2021 @ 8:52pm
yeah but i also like the early game lol makes me feel invested in the late game when i get there
Usernamehere  [author] 10 Jul, 2021 @ 8:39pm
I prefer to think of it as just turning the science/tech tree system off. After all, it's possible to disable other aspects of the game if you want.
