I am looking for a way to do the outside, allow some ability to use when burning
yes_commander 8 Nov, 2019 @ 3:54pm
Should this be preventing Chosen attacks also? I just had a burning Hunter one-shot my skirmisher when I was expecting a different sequence of events. >.> I do have some Chosen-specific mods, so I realize there may be a conflict going on, but I'm curious if the ini for this will allow me to add Chosen attacks to the disable list (if they're not in already).

@Latis
Really late reply, but by default most enemies don't have the ability to Hunker Down. There is a mod that was recently released that adds the ability to all units that can take cover, though.

good mod, but my enemies i set on fire just run across the screen and don't hunker down to stop thje fire. They just die

@Charmed
Is it possible to make an exception? Celatids (from mod) when burning are buggy.
Is it possible pls?

Great idea, will try.
Personally I`d make fire also have a chance to make a guy automatically go into Hunker Down mode (to put the fire out) or to a lesser chance, panic then go into Hunker Down. Nobody unless in some kind of completely fireproof suit should just be able to ignore it and fight on. Fire has a huge psychlogical effect as well as physical.

Is there a WotC mod that adds Hunker Down for Aliens? They just run around when they're on fire.

has anyone come across a mod that conflicts with this and stops it working? I just had a burning sectoid shoot at me...

@Bad ratings
Maybe give some feedback as to what you dislike?
I'm sure the mod author would be interested in knowing why.

I can only guess that it might be due to either being OP or due to melee units doing their thing while on fire. But that's just a wild guess based on two comments.

Now throw in the ADVENT armories flamethrowers...
Oh and I won't groan in disgust when I roll up dragon rounds, yay.

@=[NK]= Col. Jack O'Neil Not really at the moment. Are you sure it isn't an option already in their configs?

Is there any chance in the sweet baby jesus world you could make a mod for long war 2 that disables this?? So that they can shoot but with a debuff

Funny story about faceless: When I just started to play LW2 when it came out I tried to burn a bunch of civilians with the Technical flamethrower (because I knew they were faceless via savescum) and when the soldier threw the inferno at them they ran to safety before they were hit and took no damage. And then they (now that I think it was only one and one Advent officer that did took damage) changed to the real form. I don't know if this has anything to do with the trigger though.

Fun fact: I remember this encounter not because a bunch of medicore soldiers managed to overcome a heavy force but because when the civilian-faceless ran away he did Dr.Zoidberg "woop woop woop" sound clip :D

think you should disable the Chryssalid's slash by default. specially since i think vanilla actually DID prevent them from slashing if they're on fire. not sure why they can slash on fire now.
Charmed  [author] 6 Sep, 2017 @ 10:40pm
Also, apparently Chosen were already mostly resistant to burning disables (for their psi and such) so no worries on that front. Losing their weapon standard fire isn't as big a deal as I thought.
Charmed  [author] 6 Sep, 2017 @ 10:38pm
It doesn't affect Chryssalid's by default, but you can add it if you want to the XComGame.ini, the SHOOTS_TO_DISABLE list. This won't work for every ability, but it does for Chryssalid's basic slash. The name of the ability is "ChryssalidSlash".

Other abilities this mod can currently be used to disable, since I was curious, include...

-ChangeForm Faceless change form (no idea what this would do if disabled by burning, but it's interesting enough to try, hmm)
-ScythingClaws
-HunkerDown (if you hate stop drop and roll?)
-Evac
-Revive
-SwordSlice (Ranger, but but will give this ability immunity to disorient aside from the aim)
-TriggerDamagedTeleport (Avatar, but will give this ability immunity to disorient)
-TriggerSuperposition (Codex cloning, but will give this ability immunity to disorient)
-SpawnChryssalid (cocoon)
Arkhangel 6 Sep, 2017 @ 6:41pm
this also prevent Chryssalids from slashing while on fire? had that happen in the Chosen Hunter's base.
teh1archon 5 Sep, 2017 @ 1:53pm
@Thahat ,that's why.
Aliens without this mod [awomanofintegrity.files.wordpress.com]
Thahat 5 Sep, 2017 @ 1:44pm
good mod! i was wondering why some aliens who were blatantly on fire were shooting at me instead of rolling around or running for water.
Gliese581 5 Sep, 2017 @ 1:24pm
Dragon Rounds better than ever?
teh1archon 5 Sep, 2017 @ 1:07pm
If there was a competition for mods' pictures this would be a finalist for sure.
Swords 5 Sep, 2017 @ 1:07pm
These tweaks you're doing freaking rock.
Datadagger 5 Sep, 2017 @ 12:31pm
I like this a lot more here than in LW2 because purifiers are a thing in WotC
