Anytime.. enjoy!
WC_qUIck_RCP is no longer necessary as stated by the "LW2" description.
;)
Hecate 22. feb. 2022 kl. 10:15
So I installed WC_qUIck_LW2 and your file and the ranks icons are beautifully coloured. I'll look into the config files to get the same result for the Intelligence Officer and the Combat Engineer which are not directly part of the Proficiency Class. Again, thanks a lot !
Hecate 22. feb. 2022 kl. 9:29
Thanks a lot for providing that file. I'll install it. Should I replace WC_qUIck_LW2 instead of WC_qUIck_RCP ?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 21. feb. 2022 kl. 7:36
In the meantime, once you have done what i suggested below... here's a fix to XComGame.INT file to install in the Proficiency Class/Localization folder (#1265143828); for custom ranks.

There might be other ways to fix each of their Class Icons too.. a bit more complex. But that would have to wait until next week at least.

@Hecate
Since 2017, a lot of other Mods have flooded the XC2+WC workshop. Some of which are intrusive to default codes (Firaxis) and would require various "fixes" to be compatible with my stuff. Even their method(s) can interfere with regular stability. I'm not here to respond to *THEIR* flaws.
The only solution i found to create a generally stable version is WC_qUIck_LW2; it could replace this for you.

PS; I do use "Proficiency Classes" and it works fine -- but you'd also need to install the *AML* launcher mod to selectively activate specific assets or edit some config files in other mods as well.

Good luck.
Hecate 20. feb. 2022 kl. 8:44
Sooo...went through the comments, and adding these to newer classes seems way more complicated than a few edit swaps. Thanks anyways !
Hecate 20. feb. 2022 kl. 8:26
Thanks a lot for creating this mod ! Do These colored icons work with custom classes (for instance the Proficiency Class) or only with the default classes ? Or could they with an Ini modification ?

Watch some video on this topic, for example by the link, and you will understand what I'm talking about.

It's not about taste, it's about the right use of color. In design, as in any industry, there are certain rules, and if you break them, the result will be less good.
And yes, it was constructive criticism with suggested ways to solve problems.
ZiggyTouyeul 12. okt. 2021 kl. 18:17
@Zyxpsilon I find the color for your icons to be perfect for my taste and the reason why I installed your great mod, thanks again for this !
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 12. okt. 2021 kl. 17:44
As with anything "artsy".. it's all about perception and taste, specially for colors and shades.
Some like these choices, others prefer alternatives.
Just had to settle on personal variations while still respecting people's opinions, after the facts.

Ps; Someone else has created similar custom Icons but mostly are Cyan only, btw.
Иваныч 12. okt. 2021 kl. 16:21
The color of the icons is too bright, does not fit into the style of the game. You need to learn the general concepts about color: brightness, saturation, lightness.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. feb. 2021 kl. 16:11
Not really.
Vroke 5. feb. 2021 kl. 13:05
I don't have any of the DLC - would that make a difference?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 4. feb. 2021 kl. 11:35
Really strange but sad. No idea how to fix this -- sorry.
Vroke 4. feb. 2021 kl. 9:02
I changed my graphics settings to exactly what is in the image and still nothing.

The odd thing is that the mod for original XCom 2 *worked* on this computer a few years ago.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 3. feb. 2021 kl. 21:34
Alright (Vroke).. i would have an indirect solution that might solve the issue.

1) Let your GTX-1060 card spare some virtual memory for the extensive amount of custom GFX elements my SwappImg/Extension must process.
2) The most reasonable way is to redefine your graphics option(s) with lower values or discard some extra features.
3) Nothing to worry about since 95% of the changes aren't visually "bad" while other components should work more effectively.

Grab this image of *MY* graphics menu (for a RTX-2060, btw) & compare with your current choices ingame.

If that doesn't help enough to at least generate the Rank Icons too on your PC setup.. there's really nothing else i can do.

Lemme know how it goes.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 1. feb. 2021 kl. 23:56
First verify step...
Both mods are correctly installed/registered in the Memory stack as they should;
WC_qUIck == #1133862047
SwappImg == #694875779

That tells me -- possibly, the flaw might come from external conflicts with Hardware limits. Video card or your D:/Program Files/.. accessing. In both cases i really can't do anything to help or fix.

But ... i'll continue with some other (more complex) tests related to the component(s) phase -- be patient.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 1. feb. 2021 kl. 23:20
Gimme a few hours/days.. i'll get back to you.
Vroke 1. feb. 2021 kl. 19:34
Here it is:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/rmvo2rgjrfo6t0v/Launch.zip?dl=0

I have a few mods running now, but nothing should be interfering.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 1. feb. 2021 kl. 19:25
Then.. the only way for me to determine was goes wrong is to examine a freshly generated Launch.LOG file.

1) Boot the game, Load a Save, Go to the Barracks to just display your list of current Soldiers... then exit the game.
2) That would create a direct analysis of the necessary runtime facts.
3) Go to Win10/User/Documents/MyGames/XCOM2 War of the Chosen/XComGame/Logs folder to get the "Launch.log" file.
4) Zip it & Post it here from some online server/host.

I'll take a look.
Vroke 1. feb. 2021 kl. 19:14
For what it's worth, I tried booting up regular XC2 with the original qUIck_RCP mod and have the same issue.
Vroke 1. feb. 2021 kl. 18:59
I tried booting up with only those two mods (this one and SwappImg) up, and it had the same issue.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 1. feb. 2021 kl. 18:48
1) SwappImg was initially coded for XC2... but WotC functions are compatible with it as is. The (!) sign is just some incode warning step that can be ignored.

2) **IF** you still have my qUIck_RCP mod (for XCom2) active -- it must be un-installed while this WC version is also hooked at runtime. Otherwise, i can only speculate that another Mod is conflicting with the Ranking process or blocks the Array stack when my WebHelper component tries to reset the "img:///UILibrary_Common.rank_" flow cycle.
Vroke 1. feb. 2021 kl. 17:15
I have tested it a few times, and the *ranks* are the only icons not getting colored.
Vroke 1. feb. 2021 kl. 16:57
I'm subscribed to this mod, but the effects don't show up in-game. Is there anything I need to do? I am subbed to the SwappImg mod that is linked (though the launcher has a yellow exclamation point in a circle in the WotC launcher).
tastiger841 5. maj 2020 kl. 23:11
I see, not a big deal. Cheers
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2020 kl. 20:11
Simply because the necessary fixes & other GFX assets are already pre-built within "qUIck_LWoTC". Which is probably why you had an indirect conflict of Class-Icons. ;)
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2020 kl. 20:09
Ok!
Well ... you shouldn't have to use this "WC_qUIck_RCP" mod at all when installing the LWoTC version, btw.
In fact, it's highly recommended **NOT** to have both active at the same time as written up in that other Mod description.
The basic technical reasons are far beyond the scope of this discussion.
tastiger841 5. maj 2020 kl. 19:01
Thank you, thank you. The other mod is the WC_qUIck_LW2.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2020 kl. 17:57
Curious.. what is that "Other Mod" you mentionned?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2020 kl. 17:55
Default Icons being the Vanilla Cyan? If sooo.. those are pre-built as custom Texture2d assets and archived in a UPK library.
Further more.. my SwappIMG coded-tool needs to replace some of the Vanilla elements with mine (ranks & other symbols). But, lucky you -- the Classes are processed via INI file instructions.
Thus .. a possible way to prevent such an indirect "swap" method for **JUST** the 4 Class Icons would require editing the XComClassData.INI.

Simply put a semi-column ( ; ) in front of these four lines to "comment" them out as inactive...
IconImage=img:///qUIck_RCPWC_UILibrary.class_ranger
IconImage=img:///qUIck_RCPWC_UILibrary.class_sharpshooter
IconImage=img:///qUIck_RCPWC_UILibrary.class_grenadier
IconImage=img:///qUIck_RCPWC_UILibrary.class_specialist

Done!
tastiger841 5. maj 2020 kl. 17:12
Just the 4 class icons.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. maj 2020 kl. 8:09
Do you mean their class-names like "Specialist + Ranger +Sharpshooter + Grenadier" & the Factions?
tastiger841 5. maj 2020 kl. 4:19
Love the mods you have created.

How do I restore the 4 classes color to default so I can differential them from your other mod, which has the same color as this one?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 29. apr. 2020 kl. 8:26
No! The only other mod that should replace this set of features will (soon) be WC_qUIck_LW2 which i'm currently working on.
For rapid hints.. check out its Xcom2 version (qUIck_LW2 without the WC prefix) in my library.
Sir Alexx 29. apr. 2020 kl. 1:38
Does this work with long war of the chosen ?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 10. okt. 2018 kl. 8:02
Quick'n'Easy TLP update..

For those wanting to have Central & Lily own custom class Icons when playing within Legacy/Archives -- all is required is to replace the XComClassData.INI file found into the Config mod-folder (located in #1133862047 of the Steam-Workshop directory) with *THIS* one... (( https://www.dropbox.com/s/h0kvtz4mklcfgef/XComClassData.ini?dl=0 ))

No real absolute need for me to re-compile a new version just for that tiny change. Besides, the newest SDK framework has proven to be quite unstable at this point. Unless Firaxis repairs it.. looks i won't be touching my tricky Mods for fine-tuning attempts anytime soon. :)
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 21. juli 2018 kl. 5:23
Probably.. yes.
Even the newest RankUp Icons should fallback to my colored versions if @vhs stuff hooks to the same naming convention of the vanilla code.
花兔 21. juli 2018 kl. 3:24
Compatible with
[WOTC] LEB的PsiRebalance?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 5. juli 2018 kl. 20:25
Sorry.. no can do!
Unless the ABA classes could supply their own custom GFX files. Not even sure if the author of that Mod would be willing to create a special set of files to ADD extra UPK variations which also would require supplemental code hooks to his assets.
p6kocka 5. juli 2018 kl. 7:58
@Zyxpsilon
Thank you for your mods. IS it possible to make it compatible with ABA classes? I would like to see your beautiful icons in this mod. I know, it´s probably not, but I just ask...
Maybe make some ini edits or so.. :D thank you
ShunBrokuSatsu 22. mar. 2018 kl. 12:51
ahh ok. well if it's something you actually have to recompile it for then I'll just wait for you to update it whenever you can, no biggie. Not really the end of the world if the class icons aren't color coded, they are just helpful when used in conjunction with the quick soldier info mod during tactical to more quickly help me find the soldier I am looking for.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2018 kl. 12:31
Oh.. that!
I had made some for the "real" other LW2 before WotC was released... so there might be a relatively simple way to integrate those for that new Perk Pack. But.. people would have to do a few small manual edits into a tricky INI file while adding a custom UPK. Won't recompile the script though.
I'll look into it and run a few tests before calling it effective. Be patient.
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 22. mar. 2018 kl. 9:23
Which mod is that?
ShunBrokuSatsu 22. mar. 2018 kl. 8:56
Hey Zyxplosion, someone just released LW2 classes for WotC. Do you think you might add support to add colors for those classes? Is it something that I can just edit in the ini?
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 20. feb. 2018 kl. 12:21
It's NOT this mod's fault.
花兔 20. feb. 2018 kl. 10:31
Complete the first Mission Objective.
Can't quit the game.
crashed
Zyxpsilon  [ophavsmand] 20. feb. 2018 kl. 7:44
@大魔王 ... My mod can't really "crash" any games when there are extra custom classes. It only applies new Icons (of Vanilla ranks and classes) to regular soldiers & doesn't touch anything else.
