I don't like this game, and don't think it's worth the 8GB it requires. I'd rather commit that 8GB to Sid Meier's Civilization 5 with the Brave New World expansion pack.

Hi, Chrisy15

Have you lost interest in the Civ VI modding and now waiting for Firaxis to finally release Civ VII so as to switch to it? :2018thebesteye:
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 4. jan. 2023 kl. 9:27
I will laugh if you do that tho
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 4. jan. 2023 kl. 9:27
And yes, this does mean you're allowed to make a mod with removes Busan from Japan's list

Updated to fix the error. In case this sudden moment of activity gives the wrong impression, I have no interest in updating this mod with new content nor maintaining it beyond small fixes like that if the moment is convenient. If someone wishes to add colony names for newly added civs or leaders then the architecture provided by the mod should mean that making mods which depend on this mod to add new cities to the table is a trivial process, and I leave the burden of that job to them.

FYI: Inserting the following lines into C15_ColonyNames_Text.xml solved the problem:
<Row Tag="LOC_CITY_NAME_ALEXANDRIA_GEDROSIA" Language="en_US">
<Text>Alexandria Gedrosia</Text>
</Row>
pauloel7 4. jan. 2023 kl. 8:59
Indeed, that was the one Macedonian city name NOT previously defined by Firaxis.
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 4. jan. 2023 kl. 8:40
I presumably mistakenly believed that such a city name was already defined by the Macedon DLC, so to fix it you'd just have to write a text definition for it yourself in the same manner as how the rest of the names are defined
pauloel7 4. jan. 2023 kl. 8:31
Any fix on the "LOC_CITY_NAME_ALEXANDRIA_GEDROSIA" case?
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 4. jan. 2023 kl. 8:28
Lots of civs get to have colonies that they simply owned rather than settled. Hold that.
Gerand Darthmore 3. jan. 2023 kl. 20:33
This mod causes founding cites of Japan to be named Pusan... that is unhistorical as Japan never founded Busan. please fix
pauloel7 29. dec. 2022 kl. 14:27
Something is wrong with this one city name: "LOC_CITY_NAME_ALEXANDRIA_GEDROSIA"
See screenshot at https://ibb.co/ZX9VmfK .

Does it support NFP?

In my play through, there's a Spain city with the city name LOC_ROSETTA_ENNA. I dunno if it's this mod or the other mod, but just want to point it out here.

Love it thank you!

10/10, I live in Middlesex county NJ and my first city on America was called Perth Amboy

Many issues in that log, none clearly linked to Songhai; foreign key fails on CCN don't make sense since the CCN table doesn't use foreign key references for this exact reason, so maybe some other mod is creating the table incorrectly and giving it foreign key restraints or else you're using some kind of outdated version.

Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 12. mar. 2018 kl. 16:31
How's it incompatible? If there just aren't colony names for Songhai, then that's just because Chimp didn't write any in; if there's specific errors, then I'll need details of them in order to do anything about it...
bchevy04 12. mar. 2018 kl. 16:25
This mod seems to be incompatible with CIVITAS Songhai (but not any other modded civ). Any explanation as to why?
Southialist 25. feb. 2018 kl. 9:49
Does this work with YNAEMP?
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2018 kl. 3:30
@Chillie The Lua should acommodate for reconquering Cities, and should reset their names; unless you're talking about returning in a trade deal or something, in which case I might have to go hunting for a new Event...
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2018 kl. 3:26
Updated for Rise and Fall
Maëlys 26. jan. 2018 kl. 11:33
I have not crashed so far, but I have noticed a problem. When you take a civ's capital, the capital moves to another city, possibly to another continent, and so the capital when returned changes names to a colonial. Just a slight error but ruins the realism sometimes.
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 12. okt. 2017 kl. 9:21
Issue regarding the failing of FOREIGN KEY constraints on C15_ColonyCityNames resolved by removing said constraints: please be aware that this has led to the CREATE TABLE statement being altered, and as such any instance of the CREATE statement you have in your Mod(s) should be updated similarly. Both Triggers are unchanged.
CMDR Sheploo 12. okt. 2017 kl. 4:17
The user reported to me a complete game crash. Database.log reported foreign key failure at looking up the Civ, not a city name. Modding.log pointed out your SQL failing to release save point and the LUA failing to apply loaded components.
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 11. okt. 2017 kl. 23:30
Please see the part where I specifically request that if anyone finds a missing name, that they specify which it is so that I may deal with it...
CMDR Sheploo 11. okt. 2017 kl. 18:23
Some people are reporting foreign key errors with Macedon/Persia DLC. You might want to consider updating the SQL portion so all DLC Civs have the WHERE EXISTS tags.

awesome !
FriedBasketballEater 7. okt. 2017 kl. 8:36
Thanks alot!

This is something I've been waiting on for a long time.
Library of Alexandria 7. okt. 2017 kl. 0:00
@Chrisy15 Ah. Thanks.
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 6. okt. 2017 kl. 22:15
All civs have at least some colonies, although obviously some have a longer list to choose from than others. In addition, there is currently internal support for both JFD's Italy and JFD's Belgium.
Library of Alexandria 6. okt. 2017 kl. 18:18
Can we get the full list of colonial civs?

Thanks.
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 4. okt. 2017 kl. 8:28
Well now that'd be spoiling :p Just know that it's qtaf and Catlad is a legend for both coming up with it and researching it...
ruiza829 4. okt. 2017 kl. 5:07
Does Rosetta write all of the city-names out in the language of the civ you are playing as? "Nueva York" for Spain instead of New York?
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 3. okt. 2017 kl. 13:59
Updated with some mod support, some DLC support, and some typo fixes!
SeelingCat  [ophavsmand] 2. okt. 2017 kl. 20:50
@Konlord 44 - Some civs (China, Japan, Arabia, Persia, and Brazil I think) do have those sort of names in their lists.
CMDR Sheploo 2. okt. 2017 kl. 14:54
Great idea! Keep up the good work
Konlord 44 2. okt. 2017 kl. 13:04
Also I have an idea, Civs who didn't have or (had a little) colonies should have some of their old cities named as "new"
Konlord 44 2. okt. 2017 kl. 12:54
That's a cool idea, especially because i like settle oversea colonies
Dankski likes canoes 2. okt. 2017 kl. 5:54
ahh sorry, I just misunderstood xD
Chrisy15  [ophavsmand] 2. okt. 2017 kl. 3:54
I know Poland did colonisation; Poland's got a colony list. The point is that Polish cities aren't used in Non-DLC civs' lists, meaning that if you don't have the Poland DLC you don't have missing names in England's list.
Dankski likes canoes 2. okt. 2017 kl. 3:52
Cool idea btw
Dankski likes canoes 2. okt. 2017 kl. 3:52
Poland did do some colonisation... do your research ma dud ;)
Proxima04 1. okt. 2017 kl. 19:52
I like the idea!
