@Pita Bread Sorry this is so late in coming, but I updated this mod using a readme file adding today's date as an addendum. Nothing was changed. It worked back in 2017 exactly how it still works today. So whatever you guys were doing, it wasn't this mod.

I tried creating a new coop campaign with this mod since Prophet & Warlock patch and can't seem to get game going. Says incompatible with other player. We are both running same mods and deleted all other mods until we found the culprit. :/

Isnt there a way to also nerf TK so to maintain parity? I havent looked at the mechanics of TK yet, so I dont know how they afford anything, but I'm sure somehow it could be altered as a companion mod.

Ana, TK needs to be nerfed for this mod to be balanced for Mortal Empires. It seems like Radious team is looking into a fix for their generic 40% increased upkeep mod, but still waiting. Let me know if you plan to incorporate a TK nerf or not. Thanks!

Is this mod balanced for Tomb Kings since they have no upkeep costs? Or would they have a big advantage over other nations?

Excelent, all appears to be working for SFO too. I prefer higher upkeep because I prefer smaller scale battles and smaller scales in general towards mid and late game. Also makes garrisons more important and defense stronger, all making legendary more palatable.

The two differences between my mod and the Radious 40% mod is that this one adds a 10% per Lord addition. Also, the player is at 40% while the Ai is at 30%. This mod is much harder than the Radious mod I linked above.

For those of you who don't like my extra 10% upkeep per lord and want only an upkeep per unit increase, there's a new Submod for Radious that only has Upkeep for units at 40%. I'll link it in my description above.

Im using Radious new version.with a custom version of my harder 'Even" More Upkeep mod that also reduces movement to 80% globally for all Lords. Works great.

Since this mod works so well to lower the available cash in mid and late games, I've made one that's even harder. The 'EVEN' More Upkeep! mod for Vortex and Mortal Empires that increases upkeep for units and Lords EVEN more than the last mod. 50% for the palyer, 25% for the AI and 12% per Lord. Have fun.

It's pretty close to the actual mod description. I've playtested several campaigns with it. With 5 lords you should be getting taxed at 40% more upkeep. I have 10 lords and my upkeep additional tax was 90%. So its working great.

thanks for example, i see now. In my game, Informations from top of Ui shows more 12% additional upkeep when i got 5 lords. i think this is my problems, i will go check out that. Just like u say, probly someone else modifiers conflict yours.

Ellyrian Reavers that cost 100 upkeep in Radious (check the building browser that gives unmodified unit upkeep) cost me 140. It's actually 131, because I have a lord and a faction leader that gives me a little bonus for recruitment. So the 40% is working.

Unmodded, my total unit upkeep was 11,846. Modded it was 19,982.

One of my Lords unmodded army upkeep was 1080. Modded it was 1912.

Thats with 10 Lords. Each Lord you add ads 10% more to the unmodded cost of a unit.

These costs do not factor in that almost all 10 of my Lords are using skills that reduce the upkeep of their armies. For example, one of my lords has 3 different skills that adjust upkeep by 48%. A few of my Lords do not.

So all in all, if none of my Lords had upkeep skills, I might be looking at close to 40% more upkeep than I have.

why i see there was only 3% additional upkeep per lord/army on the top of ui. i using this mod with radious, though every single unit that increased upkeep but seem not work well on additional army :D

This mod makes Radious mode complete. I really enjoy Radious, but the FS spam is annyoing. With more upkeep it's nearly perfect.

I'd be happy to see another version with a slightly increased amount. Something like 10% to 12% sounds appealling to me. But yeah, tier upkeeps is really where some perfect magic could happen.

Thanks for the feedback. @Erebus, the mod's numbers are correct, and reflected abstractly in the campaign by some voodoo magic, but it works. Stuff costs more and is nearly close to the numbers I used for the entries in the data.pack.
@Boi, I might release another mod that increases the upkeep for the player a little more, because I seem to be taking advantage of the unit upkeep cost reduction skills for Lords and thats giving me an advantage, and also increase the overall Lords penalty from 10% to 12% to make it a little harder to field so many offensive campaign armies. That will be a different mod, this one seems to be balanced well so no changes here. But I cant modify tier unit costs atm. I'll look into it.

Just an idea. I think it would be really cool if you could raise the price and upkeep even more of only elite units for the races. Like to make them even rare. Anyways. Thx for the mod

When I recruit another lord, the tooltip says it will increase upkeep costs by 2%; however, I did the math and it actually does work out to the 10% described. Is this an error on my end, or is the tooltip still set to display 2%?

Thank you! Glad you like it. I love hearing more feedback from players on how they like or dislike this mod. For me, I started by dropping this mod into a Very Hard Difficulty Radious late game and it dramatically altered my upkeep. I then tested it with a new game and found that it made it a little harder because I couldnt afford all the armies I used to and ended up getting off to a slower start. I erred on the side of caution so if anything, I think it's not hard enough, but before I make judgements on this mod, I'll remove the mod Lucrative Trade that I'm using to pad my income to make it even harder, as I think this mod is fine right where it is.

But I'd love to hear about your experiences!

@ProfanitySpeaker Thanks for the question. Turning down the income is beyond the scope of this mod. Mods that begin messing with too many parameters end up becoming overhauls instead of tweaks which is what this mod is designed to do, tweak the Radious Mod which is itself an overhaul.

This mod addresses that issue indirectly. With units costing a little more and having a cost multiplier added on top with each successive Lord/Army you have, the amount of money you need to support the war effort is increased, thereby consuming the money you're asking to have turned down. So in a way, this mod might work for you.

Currently, I'm using the Lucrative Trade mod with this mod and I find that even though my trade income is better late game, I don't have as many armies running amok as I do in unmodded Radious. It's a good balance now between defending my realm or being offensive.when before I could easily do both.
