I use the 1lane invisible road to build buildings in the middle of nowhere lol.
H E N N E 27. nov. 2020 kl. 9:50
do these roads work with any custom normal road? ( ones with trams lanes incorparated especially bc I ran into some issues and can´t find the exact problem)
Mvek 5. apr. 2018 kl. 12:35
What ploppable asphalt assets did you use in the screenshots? I mean, it is not a problem to find asphalt, but I have no idea, where to find proper white lines on the asphalt to draw the lanes.

@tosimplicity Hi, I am sorry this is not possible with my road. I would suggest you use the Plain Road (the small only-asphalt one) and draw over it with Surface Painter. There would be very little left to see of the road.
tosimplicity 30. mar. 2018 kl. 6:54
@nico_oas, hi, I usually draw a road 5m low than surface level, as a river. I have been looking for a way to hide the visual road under water. But I found that your visible way can not force the terrain 5m down. Any suggestion on this?
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 20. mar. 2018 kl. 13:10
@Sasquatch You can use ploppable asphalt to cover any glitches when connecting these roads with normal roads.
I actually also made a Zoneable Version. Look in the description of this one or my workshop.
Sasquatch 19. mar. 2018 kl. 11:43
Brilliant idea, but I don't see any way to connect those intersections to normal roads - looks terrible as hell, even worse than on pics if you connect to two- or three- lane roads... Therefore I see no use of it. Maybe if you add zoning to them we can use them not only for intersections.
Or am I missing something?
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 12. feb. 2018 kl. 4:41
@ms2372 This is not a mod, just an asset. The game adds the road to the menu where you can choose which road to build.
ms2372 11. feb. 2018 kl. 17:34
Does this mod actually make the roads invisible? My apologies, I am new to this game and have yet to learn all of the terminology.
fream 8. feb. 2018 kl. 2:41
This suggests me rememberance of another game: Intersection 3 (Latest development of Traffic Lane 2)
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 16. nov. 2017 kl. 9:30
@Realism You still need road anarchy.
Jack Boston 16. nov. 2017 kl. 1:34
Just to make sure. This is to allow you to stack roads on top to make a custom intersection?
Super_J 15. nov. 2017 kl. 0:16
I feel this mod is so revolutionary we should make a collection specifically for the intersection made by this mod. This is sometings like MOM. :steamhappy:
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 14. nov. 2017 kl. 13:33
@Overlord Again you can use asphalt, or any other decal.
So for example, you can let your cims drive over a square which has cobble roads or even let them drive through the woods along a trail.
And yes, if you place nothing over the invisible road you will see the grass or sand underneath. That's the point.
Overlord 14. nov. 2017 kl. 13:17
If your road is invisible then cars will drive over the surface which is for example sand or grass right? So I need to get there some road texture to actually create visible roads and there is the road texture fighting. If I use ploppable asphalt over your invisible roads then I'm fine, but without it I dont see any option (of course as I said I'm very bad at imagination so it is very possible that I'm missing something) :)
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 14. nov. 2017 kl. 12:50
@Overlord 1. There will be no texture fighting because my road has no textures.
2. why do you want to place a road ontop of the invisible road?
Overlord 14. nov. 2017 kl. 12:44
I'm lacking imagination that is nothing new, but If I use roads over your invisible roads I wont help myself because roads fighting against each other and making weird textures which has to be covered anyway.
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 14. nov. 2017 kl. 12:30
@Overlord No this is just an invisible road. What you place on it can be anything, including ploppable asphalt but you could also use this as a rural road which has no asphalt at all.
Overlord 14. nov. 2017 kl. 12:23
If I understood it right this wont be possible to create without ploppable asphalt? I think it should be in required assets list :D
Space wizard 14. nov. 2017 kl. 8:35
Nico, those are flying cars
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 14. nov. 2017 kl. 7:24
I take everything back, invisible Bridges ARE possible. https://imgur.com/a/bNMj9 (not with this asset, but with the one I'm going to release soon.)
SogDexFogDucker 14. nov. 2017 kl. 3:00
i meant a 1-lane one way regular black road without sidewalks....but it doesn't matter anymore since the core game is retarded and the roads are hideous.
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 14. nov. 2017 kl. 1:56
@TOKACHI269 As far as I know, custom elevated roads are not possible in the asset editor yet.

@Xunicron You can enable traffic lights at any node with Traffic Manager (the traffic lights will be invisible) and setup a timed traffic light after, again with Traffic Manager.

@Xunicron I don't know how to handle elevated roads in my planned city either. Will probably make props for bridges and then try and glitch normal roads into them as I can't make elevated invisible roads yet.

@🌮🥙🥓🍗🍟☕🍰🍩 Highways don't have a sidewalk anyways. But they do have unnecessary props and are way wider than a lane in vanilla.
Tom50936 14. nov. 2017 kl. 1:41
NoNoNo... I've been working on an Intersection in Kiel, it took me several parts of days. With these roads less time and its looking much better. It would have appeared only 3 days earlier... ;) btw.: very good idea
SogDexFogDucker 13. nov. 2017 kl. 23:18
couldn't you just add a blank black road without the sidewalk?
Xunicron 13. nov. 2017 kl. 21:14
Elevated version of this would be great for making complex highway interchanges>
Xunicron 13. nov. 2017 kl. 21:13
Hi, Great idea, Just one thing, does traffic stop at the intersection or do you need other roads cutting across to make the intersection work?
TOKACHI269 13. nov. 2017 kl. 15:45
Could you make Invisible elevated pedestrian? That way we can pass people on the pedestrian overpass.
TumbleDryer 13. nov. 2017 kl. 8:27
'EFFING Genius!
darkdan23 12. nov. 2017 kl. 18:07
@nico_oas
Thank you so much for this man! I really needed something like for my city. YOUR 1 OF THE BEST!!!:steamhappy:
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 12. nov. 2017 kl. 13:38
@Trainer I actually didn't try it before and thought they would show. But you are correct, they are indeed hidden. This solves a lot of my problems! :steamhappy:
Amarok 12. nov. 2017 kl. 13:03
@nico_oas I actually just tried it and it works! It hid the traffic light props! You are a life saver!
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 12. nov. 2017 kl. 9:41
@Trainer Yes they will show I think. Would be nice if someone made a mod to hide traffic lights (only the props) while they are still operational.
Amarok 12. nov. 2017 kl. 9:36
Looks awesome! Definently going to use it! Question. If I use traffic lights, will the traffic lights show?
Super_J 12. nov. 2017 kl. 6:25
This is revolutionary Asset.:steamhappy: Endless possibility.
Bob 11. nov. 2017 kl. 8:55
Can you do a version which places asphalt with no decals and without collision ? It would be great for those who are almost reaching the prop limit
AquilaSol 10. nov. 2017 kl. 13:46
That's genius. I can't wait for the Pedestrian Road (not path) version of this, so we can finally make actual parks!
Bob 10. nov. 2017 kl. 12:48
thank you mso hard ! I was trying to add those diagonal japanese turning lasnes and you gave me the answer !
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 10. nov. 2017 kl. 8:26
@loveflorababe They dont unless you connect the lanes specifically where you want the cims to choose their lane. But, multi lane roads are in the making and cars will be able to change lanes at nodes.
hf61 10. nov. 2017 kl. 3:30
may i ask how the cars change lanes?
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 10. nov. 2017 kl. 0:48
@AmiPolizeiFunk I will make zoneable roads soon, but for speed limit and vehicle restrictions, please use Traffic Manager President Edition
AmiPolizeiFunk 10. nov. 2017 kl. 0:16
will you make an invisible plaza road version with a low speed limit pretty please? I need a road that can service buildings on big plazas that I decorate with decals and planters and such. Would be super cool if only utility vehicles could use it but I can live w/o that aspect
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2017 kl. 11:38
@JM20topgamer no I cant change game logic. You will either have to use two lane roads and live with one connection point or make every lane a seperate road. I think a mix of both is probably best, meaning that you only ever split a road into two, but multiple times, if that makes sence? But I have to test all that when I actually did the muli lane roads :)
JM20topgamer 9. nov. 2017 kl. 11:14
So your plan is make highways with for example 2 lanes with nodes?(connectionpoints) on every lane at the end of the street
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2017 kl. 11:00
@JM20topgamer yes you have to connect the roads if you want the cims to be able to change lanes. Should be possible though, don't know how glitchy it will be because they are so close to each other, but my future roads will solve that anyways.
--JR-- 9. nov. 2017 kl. 10:36
This is great for making beach roads! Thanks!
JM20topgamer 9. nov. 2017 kl. 10:07
But im right, that cars can`t switch between for. example. 3 lanes next to ech other?
Chamëleon TBN 9. nov. 2017 kl. 6:06
Not something i need, but a very interesting concept. Good idea!
nico_oas  [ophavsmand] 9. nov. 2017 kl. 0:15
@Arnold J. Rimmer, Bsc. Ssc. With highways, the difference is just no unnecessary props and also, the invisible version is a little bit slimmer. In the future, I will make Versions of the normal small one way single lane roads (from network extensions I believe?) which means I will get rid of the sidewalk and the negative height offset.

Ps: you also dont need to cover up as much area because the normal highways create gravel around the road.
