Do I need to delete my character and make a new one so that they will glow, or will it work automatically? Just asking before I download.

@Mono832, odd I just checked it myself using this workshop file and the Novakid NPC's were glowing fine. Are you playing single player or are you on someone else's server? because if you have this mod and the host doesn't, you would still glow, but NPC's would not.

think about people late game who cant use the lantern stick in volcanic or snow or other where you need an advanced epp. even with a light augment, the smart starbound player will save it till the last epp being the cooling epp

@Dr Manowar, It is cheap in the sense that it makes the game slightly easier with no downside, but the explorers lantern and lantern stick are fairly low tier items that do the same thing. so this doesn't really put players too far ahead. And it just makes sense to me that novakids should give off light.

well it still seems like a cheap mod. i never use the novakid anyways so, i also never use hylotl, or floran i like florans i just dont like the foliage choices

Sounds logical Novakids should glow. Its not like you gave them a glow so bright it will light up the entire cave section they are in, or the entire upper ground. Right? Thats lighting up 1/4 the screen.

@WandringLich I don't see any easy way to do those things, what you can do is unpack my mod (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=745239455) open novaglow.animation with a text editor. the "color" value will determine how bright novakids shine, setting it to [255,255,255] will maximize it for you. you can also change the color like this, for example [0,0,255] will make them shine blue.

Any chance you might add a server-side feature to decide how brightly the Novakids glow?

Also, can you make it so that the effects will stack when you get the glowing effect from say, a yellow stim pack?

@WandringLich, no they don't. but if only one client has it installed only their character will get the effect. The host will need to install it for the NPCs to be effected.

in multiplayer, do other players need to have this mod for it to work?

@That Random VA, Sorry to see you leave, The effect should go away when you unsubscribe. Make sure you aren't also subscribed to my compilation mod because that would include this. I use a status effect to make the glow, so if you die, it should get rid of the effect. beaming down in a mech suit may also work.

well, if the gas colours were meant to have different glows, then it didnt work as intended, otherwise its fine

@rosetta_snow, can you send me the crash log so I can look at it? Also, if you're subscribed to compilation mod, that would install this mod too. Otherwise, this mod doesn't save any data, if you unsubscribed, the mod should be gone with no problems.

This mod crashes my game but I can't uninstall it. Even after I unsubscribe it, it still appears in my logs. Is there any way I can completely revert the effects of this mod on my game? Thanks

@ReeceBar, yes it does. For multiplayer, NPCs will only get the effect if the host has the mod installed. But it will work for the player regardless.

My mod uses "/novaglow/novaglow.animation", not "novakidglow.animation".
I would try unsubscribing, run the game, exit the game, then resubscribe to see if that fixes it. but without knowing the full error, I can't recommend anything specific.

it says something about its status and the animation. the last 2 lines are: /novaglow/novakidglow.animation/
