@sirisma This mod is no longer maintained by me. Go for CivFanatics, there should be an updated version prepared by the others.

I would like to point out that most of the units get disabled with the wrong tech because VP changed what techs unlock them. IE: Battleship does not unlock with Electronics but with Nuclear Fission now. I've changed this myself in the XML but you should update it sometime.

bug, i fiddled about with IGE to test ranged naval, and i found this out

Claim:
Cruiser: 2 Range
Dreadnought: 2 Range
Battleship: 2 Range
Missile Cruiser: 2 Range

Reality:
Cruiser: 2 Range
Dreadnought: 1 Range
Battleship: 2 Range
Missile Cruiser: 1 Range

"All industrial era and later ranged ships (Cruiser, Dreadnought, Battleship, Missile Cruiser) have 1 Range and a free Range promotion that gives additional +1 Range. In total, they have 2 Range and this is correct."

The Cruiser and Battleship have a base 2 range, making this claim false, as well as the Dreadnought and M. Cruiser lacking a free range promotion making their range 1.
Please fix the mod, it's nice overall but it sort of ruins naval warfare when you're getting outmaneuvered by older ships because they start with extra range.

I like the new ships and what they have to offer, but Vox Populi REQUIRES all the DLC for this game... and this mod requires Vox Populi.

So, yeah, gonna have to pass on this mod...

Amadhe, A dreadnought was a warship with a very specific mode of armament.
A battleship was a warship with a specific function in wartime.

I thought battleships came after dreadnoughts and are an improved version of them.

Dreadnought and Battleship claim to have 2 and 3 range respectively, but actually have 1 and 2. Cruisers have 2 range, so this doesn't seem to make sense. What am I doing wrong?

@jayeye2011 Supercarrier and Nuclear Sub require Uranium, Missile Cruiser, Missile Destroyer and Attack Submarine require Aluminum, Submarine requires Oil. Other ships same as VP.

Like I said... you need to make choices. Having all the units top-notch is not obligatory. AI faces the same situation.

@infixo Current game, 25 aluminiums(didn't build any Recycling center yet but count 35 ) owning a full continent ( communitas with 2 continent ).
I've got 35 aluminium for :
Wind plant
Hydro plant
Spacefactory
Light tank
Helicopter gunship
Jet fighter
stealth bomber
AND with enhanced naval warfare
Missile destroyer
Missile cruiser
Attack/Nuclear submarine

Infixo, I think too much new units that you have added need aluminium.
you have to use it for skirmicher tank/helicopter, late air units, and now the late naval units.

I think the last destroyer should keep coal .

@markvitank ENW doesn't change Battleship. This is how Vox Populi works, has been for a few months. All Range Naval units have 1 range. But Cruiser and Battleship get Naval Range promotion. ENW does the same with Dreadnought (i.e. 1 range and additional promotion).

why is it George Washington can buy the tiles of other empires? What if yo u played against him and you had a miitary unit on that hex? It's an very odd mechanic. It's conquest with Gold without firing a shot. Which makes no sense.

The thing about Civ V in general , they put in a lot of detail but when you play it you notice that they leave some out. LIke the game is partially unfinished. That's the impression I get. Well , you can see it when you play the crap out of it. after 500 turns you can't help but notice a few things. Then you see the tables you have on this mod and it's obvious.

I'd love to use this mod , the naval warfare could use an upgrade and this looks cool but I'm wary about downloading manually. I'd have to save a duplicate copy of the game files before I let this Vox Populi mess alter it completely. What if I don't like it? That's a lot of work and a lot of mods. Three or four isn't it? You want better ships in the mid to late game you have to download Vox Populi from CivFanatics that's what you're telling us.

you need the "community patch" mod, and yes the name of the mod is community patch. Or go to their official website, which I think is called Vox Populi, to download the mod.

My Dreadnoughts seem to have a range of 1 for some reason. Any thoughts as to why? Great mod!
