What's the point of all of it if you can still faceroll them via invasion?

Okay, I'll take a look at it as soon as I can. It sounds like maybe it is in fact tied to a change I made

I did it twice and even 3 times in a row in a single turn and it stayed at +1
Not sure if it was just a ui issue or if it was actually only doing +1 tho, didnt pay attention to the counter.

Ok, I will take a look at it. Maybe it's something specific to the Bribe mechanics.

Did you try to bribe twice in a row, right away, and it would jump up?

I do know in the vanilla game, I noticed that it didn't work the way I expected.

If you do +1 for 9 turns, and then refresh it to +2, it would drop back down to +1 pretty quickly. I had always assumed that it would refresh the duration and keep the higher modifier, but that didn't seem to be the case.

I was playing as lumeries at the time, if that helps

I will take a look on my next playthrough! I don't remember it being a problem, however. Thanks for the report!

possible bug: praise/bribe doesnt seem to stack, resulting in the timer being reset but otherwise wasting resources.

Please do! I don't get to play as much as I would like sometimes, and I love knowing how it works out for different players.

So far I like it. I like the pacing change on the game due to it. Have to play a few games to late game. Will let you know if I run into anything.
