Землемер, It is normal. Not being able to retrofit ships or assign a hero to a privateer fleet are the price for attacking a friendly faction with impunity. The error is probably because I missing a local variable for a text description

When I change the drawing, I can not upgrade the ships, is this normal?

gavinfoxx, you should head over to the mod forums [www.games2gether.com]. Go over the intro stuff. Then take a look as some of the ship mods. That should give you all the info you need to make your mod.

I don't really understand what you just said... how about if I just want the player faction to be able to use it, would that be simpler? For the Deka and the upgraded version of it?

It should be possible. I think the simplest way to achieve it would be to change the techprequisites for the hull and ship design so that every faction could use the deka. Try replacing the tech prerequisites from this mod with the deka hull and ship design. Amplitudes mod forum will be more helpful for you.

Hi, do you think you could make a mod that ONLY adds the Sophon Deka and the upgraded version of it to all factions. Do you think that might be possible? It's not that great of a ship, but with the right collection of game mods, the sheer amount of utility modules means it can do things you wouldn't expect, which is useful for roleplaying some custom factions. Thank you!

I changed the mod to option 3. I tried to get the curiosity version working, but wasn't able to get the medium attack ships to spawn reliably without heavily weighting that choice.

Happyhead's 4th option is possible. This is the way I'd like to use the mod, but I hate to put the ship designs behind the Curiosity RNG wall. There is already a lot of good stuff in there that is hard to get. Right now I'm thinking of going with option 3 for this mod and then just make a new version of the mod for curiosity expeditions.

Would a 4th option be to take all the merc ship designs off the tech tree proper and make them discoverable through exploration like with weapon modules?

I think that I can offer 3 options.

1. Move the Pioneer-class to upgraded hulls as Happyhead requested.
The problem is I don't think anyone would use the pioneer-class since it is inferior to the others.

2. Remove a module from the Pioneer-class hull. Either a weapon module or the only defense module.
I'm not entirely sure if I can do this. I'll have to try and see.

3. Not allow the AI to build the mercenary hulls. I'd remove the ship design from all factions
and put them in a faction trait to add to a custom race at no cost.

Yeah, the AI builds only them because they're better. And it's very rough to win space battles with faction fleets.

should the first set of privateer hulls be moved to the 2nd set of ship upgrades? If I'm not mistaken, the fist set of privateer ships always outclass the non-upgraded starter ships.
