So, turns out the window background items are just part of the background layer and not actual background blocks. Had to replace my windows.

This doesn't actuall "allow to remove" the background items, it just turns them invisible. I don't mind them, I just don't want them misplaced. :c

This doesn't work for the Greenhouse station section? the annoying background glass is still there..

omg, thank you for this mod kind sir :D Im messing around with some mods and i accidentaly added one of the spacestations backgrounds on my ship XD and it messed everything up :D thanks to your mod it got rid of that piece of background and spaceship backround stayed :) :SBpenguin:

It works perfectly fine for me, i can't help you. Make sure you don't have any other mod that modifies player station's backgrounds.
