for reasons unknown this mod gave me solid 30 fps at all times... just a heads up
Lûte the Goblin 24. apr. 2024 kl. 17:27
WotC compatible?
Fritzchen 16. sep. 2023 kl. 23:30
There's NO Effect at all ! - Posters are still created - what a Pity
Theocratical Goblin 10. feb. 2023 kl. 11:37
what kind of spaghetti code makes it so modding automatic posters conflicts with psi overhaul lmao
renegade_sock 26. apr. 2021 kl. 3:02
This has caused crashing for me at the end of missions, had to remove it.
Stardust 🌠 29. mar. 2021 kl. 1:00
This has been related to post-mission pre-promotion screen crashes in my games (On the skyranger when a poster should appear on the stats screen.) . The Community mod launcher says there are no mod conflicts, but it may still be a mod conflict that it just isnt picking up on. I have a 300~ modlist so i wouldn't be surprised.

While some of the crashing was happening mid-campaign, the testing i did to figure out which of my mods was the problem i did on gatecrasher.

Im theorizing that maybe since it crashes on gatecrasher, maybe the game is trying to get a poster to use as the end-of-mission poster but cant find one, so it just, crashes.
Psykrom 22. mar. 2021 kl. 14:50
So if I use this, I will see my own posters instead? Sounds great.
Mid-campaign activation is safe?
Badger 16. feb. 2020 kl. 23:58
@Thunder It's a base game problem that has cropped up lately. Several mods that make edit to core configs are having this issue; delete the core game config files and restart; the game will rebuild them with the mod functionalities included. should fix it. I unfortunately have to do it before every start up. super annoying.
Cato 28. dec. 2019 kl. 3:23
Interesting, I do not experience that. If you do not have Mod Configuration Menu and the WOTC Highlander installed I would recommend them as potential fixes.
Thunder 27. dec. 2019 kl. 15:39
It always works well at the beginning and always stop working after some months of a long campaign. At that point there is no way apparently to make it work again.
I start new campaigns often and this is repeating it self each time, with me not touching the mod settings at all.
Also I'm using the mod launcher and apparently I don't have any incompatible mod that uses the same files as this one, including the ones you mentioned here that I don't use.

This is one of the most important mods for me, since I share the exact same feelings about posters, I like them but I want to use them without the random generated ones that just spam.

Did anyone find any workaround to make it work again once it stops?
Zigg Price 19. sep. 2019 kl. 12:28
Okay, so, the variables in the .ini confuse me a bit. I see, below, to use Psi Overhaul, I should turn off the first three options.

The options are "TRUE" "FALSE," though. So if I set a poster type to TRUE, will that poster generate? Or does setting it to TRUE activate this mod, which would turn that poster off?

Please advise. Thank you.

great mod, thanks again!!!

And please add @Sotek's comment to your Compatibility Note
Acimomo 20. feb. 2019 kl. 5:19
Hi, could you please create a localization file for this mod?
Sotek 17. dec. 2018 kl. 8:11
Hi michiakig
I've been playing with this mod and PSI Overhaul and I wanted to report my findings with it in case anyone else wanted to try and use both mods.
mich is correct when they stated they created a poster at the end of the mission.

If you use the settings:-
Soldier KIA OFF
Soldier Promoted OFF
Soldiers Bonded OFF
Mission Finished ON

Then these two mods will work alongside eachother. Yes, it's a pain with the 'Mission Finished' but this does drasticly increase the opputunities for our own in game posters to be displayed.

I hope this helps someone out there..
michiakig  [ophavsmand] 19. okt. 2018 kl. 16:23
thanks @Cato Heresy, I had planned to test with TLP but have been busy since release. appreciate you testing it out.
Cato 19. okt. 2018 kl. 10:29
Working fine for me with TLP options + other photobooth mods. :sectoid:
Cato 15. okt. 2018 kl. 15:53
I will be testing this mod for TLP compatibility this week along with a few other photobooth mods (including my own). Will report back for others in a few days :-)
♂Crasher♂ 15. maj 2018 kl. 15:36
Forgot to rate this, but thanks alot for making this mod. The sea of posters has been one of my biggest annoyances with the dlc since launch.
Dragon32 6. maj 2018 kl. 11:26
@Mulqueeny:
FPS drop on the Geoscape is indicative of a mod conflict. Have a look at the Alternate Mod Launcher. Link and guide:
Troubleshooting: Mods not working properly / at all
Mulqueeny 6. maj 2018 kl. 11:13
This mod Caused massive FPS drop on the Geoscape.

Unsure if it's some kind of conflict with my other mods... but Can't quite figure out why it would conflict.
Victoria on Fire 10. mar. 2018 kl. 17:08
I can also confirm this causes a crash with "[WoTC] XCOM Psi Overhaul [NEW UPLOAD]" when starting a new game immediately after finishing gate crasher.
biocrystalluminescence 7. mar. 2018 kl. 17:42
can confirm that this mod and "[WoTC] XCOM Psi Overhaul [NEW UPLOAD]" crash after gatecrasher.
...unless this and loot pinata is crashing me, but i doubt it
Tim_ 7. mar. 2018 kl. 15:49
Just started a new campaign, this time with 83 mods. This included upgrading from the old "[WoTC] XCOM Psi Overhaul [Standalone]" with the newer version "[WoTC] XCOM Psi Overhaul [NEW UPLOAD]", just in case it made any difference.

Added the "Disable Random Posters" mod, to make 84.
Tested it.
It ran fine initially, but crashed again at the end of the Gatecrasher mission.
Removed the "Disable Random Posters" mod again, returning to the list of 83 mods.
It ran fine initially, and did not crash at the end of Gatecrasher.

This mod is still conflicting somewhere, with something. If it is the Psi Overhaul, then its both old and new versions.
michiakig  [ophavsmand] 28. feb. 2018 kl. 19:00
hey @Kyuubicle and @Tim_ thanks for continuing to help figure this out. I never tested with the new upload of Psi Overhaul, only with the one listed as "[WoTC] XCOM Psi Overhaul [Standalone]" (https://steamhost.cn/steamcommunity_com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1162222490)

so it sounds like the conflict is only with the older version of the mod
Tim_ 28. feb. 2018 kl. 17:36
Checking in here again. The campaign I am running with the 63 mods listed in earlier posts on this thread is now almost complete, just the final few story missions to go. There have been precisely no crashes with mods - it has been 100% stable throughout since I removed the "Disable Random Posters" mod.

When I complete the campaign, I'll likely start another, with the more recent version of the Psi Overhaul mod (I am using the version that was available at the time - the new version is a completely differernt mod subscription I believe), and I may well try to add this "Disable Random Posters" mod back into my mod list, just to see if any of the updates to various mods in the intervening period have sorted anything out (for example, I know the Community Highlander was modified recently). I'll let you know when I do this (it may be a few days or a few weeks away, will see).
Kyuubicle 28. feb. 2018 kl. 9:44
I've been alerted that there is a conflict betwen this mod and the new version of Psi Overhaul I posted, but I'm just not able to reproduce it. It booted up the game 10 times with no crashes and was able to successfully complete Gatecrasher and another mission each time without crashing. I created a poster at the end of the missions each time, in case maybe that makes a difference???

Here's the mod list I used to try to reproduce the reported crashing: https://imgur.com/qQR5wYa

Anyway, not saying there isn't any possibility of a conflict. Just wanted to report my findings. If you (or anyone else) can figure out what might be causing it, I'm happy to help fix it should it be something on Psi Overhaul's end.
michiakig  [ophavsmand] 26. feb. 2018 kl. 18:41
hey @Tim_ sorry it took me a while to get some time to sit down and test. I don't have a fix however I think I have identified the conflicting mod: "[WoTC] XCOM Psi Overhaul [Standalone]"

I will try to find a fix and post a new version, if possible, although I don't know if it's possible. but thanks again for the report, at least it's good to be able to point out the issue for other players
michiakig  [ophavsmand] 11. feb. 2018 kl. 13:30
thanks for posting the full list. I'm able to reproduce the crash so I'll try to come up with a fix. not sure what's involved yet so no idea how long it will take, but thanks again for reporting it

@Tim_ sorry about that but thanks for the report. if you don't mind posting the full list of mods that would be helpful
Tim_ 11. feb. 2018 kl. 8:39
This mod does not play well with some other mods in WOTC. In some cases, adding it causes a crash at startup, in others it causes a crash as the end of "Operation Gatecrasher".

I tried with a total of 66 mods, and usually it crashes at startup. Once I removed "Weapon Tier Overhaul for WOTC", the crashes moved to the end of "Operation Gatecrasher". However, trying with a subset of mods including this mod and the "Weapon Tier Overhaul for WOTC", the game still crashed at the end of "Operation Gatecrasher".

Now I have 63 mods installed (including the "Weapon Tier Overhaul for WOTC" mod) but without the "Disable Random Posters" mod and everything appears stable.

This all suggests that the "Disable Random Posters" must not be playing nice with more than one of the other mods, so I have unsubscribed from it for now.
Cahos Rahne Veloza 6. feb. 2018 kl. 9:22
Had to clear my config folder and am now able to stop the game from generating random posters :)
PeaceMaker 4. feb. 2018 kl. 12:59
Good idea. I hate it when the game makes random posters even when I say no.
Cato 31. jan. 2018 kl. 16:17
Works fine with my 'Photobooth Quotes' mod, so a rate up and endorsement from me!
Grendel 29. jan. 2018 kl. 16:51
""If you have the end-of-mission posters disabled and choose not to create one at the end of a mission, you will see the last poster created in the Skyranger return-to-base loading page, which will be a poster unrelated to the mission you just finished.""

This is so funny and sad. It's like, "Oh yeah. I remember that mission. We did well enough to feel like we deserved a poster, unlike this mission where most of the people in that poster DIED." Gives a lot of unintention emotional impact.

It's almost like the bug is its own happy feature.
Cahos Rahne Veloza 29. jan. 2018 kl. 14:42
@spacemanaki:

I think it's just a matter of the mod not liking me, some people often encounter mods that don't work for them but works for everyone else. I guess this time around it's my turn with this mod of yours. So let's just chuck it up to bad luck in my part.

Should anyone else report that they can't get your mod to work, then that might be a better time to check things out.

Incidentally, I did test your mod out at "End Game" where I only needed to do the final mission but I've yet to do so. Perhaps your mod only works on a fresh campaign then?
michiakig  [ophavsmand] 29. jan. 2018 kl. 13:51
hi sorry the mod isn't working for you @Cahos Rahne Veloza. can you let me know a few things to help debug:

- have you tried disabling the other posters, and is that working as expected?
- any other mods installed at the same time? can you try with only this mod?
- try disabling in MCM and restarting the game. also try unsubscribing, delete the ini file (C:\Users\...\Documents\my games\XCOM2 War of the Chosen\XComGame\Config\XComDisableRandomPostersSettings.ini), then resubscribe. it's possible my MCM code is buggy

thanks and sorry again it's not working
Cahos Rahne Veloza 29. jan. 2018 kl. 8:27
I can't seem to get this mod to work as it still generates random end of mission posters, even when I specifically selected to turn them off in the MCM menu.
Thunder 27. jan. 2018 kl. 7:40
Well done, I was just thinking about that too, all these spaaming photos when my soldiers get promoted... I think I will disable all but the ones I create (sinde I do those already for several situations).
tran.bronstein 24. jan. 2018 kl. 21:15
Finally. Thanks for thinking of doing this and executing it.
NotSoLoneWolf 24. jan. 2018 kl. 13:27

花兔 24. jan. 2018 kl. 8:30
It looks interesting
I will subscribe to it
Jess 24. jan. 2018 kl. 6:21
It'd be nice if you could integrate configurable headshots, since I like both.
eclipsezr 24. jan. 2018 kl. 5:07
Thanks! This is indeed a needed mod for quite some time now well for me atleast
Deadput 23. jan. 2018 kl. 22:13
Now this is something we really needed thanks!
