It will be more effective if you set this mode as underground cable and make it can be laid in series. Like a power cable.

does it works in 1.4?
Renix 25 Oct, 2022 @ 12:10am
Interest in 1.4

:D

This mod is updated to 1.3. Not tested with Ideology furniture, so may cause the pawn to destroy furniture if placing the heating cable on existing Ideology furniture. Should otherwise work fine.

I'm adding this to my 1.3 save. Will post if I find issues.

The mod is updated to 1.1. Please let me know if you find any bugs.
Smuffle  [author] 5 Sep, 2019 @ 6:36am
@amogorkon maybe, but I don't really mod much anymore, so I won't make that version
amogorkon 5 Sep, 2019 @ 12:59am
Would it be possible to build a version that prevents snow on a tile? You know like the paveways they use in iceland and some other northern countries that melt the snow in winter..

I do like the ide of this mod and I'm playing around to see what I can do with it. Tho so far I'm thinking that it would be realive nice if the cable was placed benith the floor. (Not visible on floor tiles inside.) As well that it would be very neat if the heat cable was connected to a controle box where you can set the temprature for the heat cable network.

And now when we are at it, a cooling cable would be really handy as well. There are plenty of ways to heat up a room, but few to cool one down or manage the heat at all.

@Silia No, only one is needed in per bedroom, as the comfort bonus doesn't stack.
Silia 30 Oct, 2018 @ 6:51pm
Oh okay, I must have misunderstood the theme; thought it worked like vanilla power cables.
Smuffle  [author] 30 Oct, 2018 @ 8:55am
@Silia I'll consider it if I have to update the mod any further to match newer versions. But the effect doesn't stack, so you will not get an additional bonus from each cable.
Silia 29 Oct, 2018 @ 3:54pm
Not sure if I'm saying this right, but if it's possible, could you make it so you can build multiple of the cables in one session instead of one single piece at a time; eg: trying to build across multiple units of walls like how electric cables work in vanilla?
Far-Seeker 21 Oct, 2018 @ 9:44pm
OK I'll give it a try.
Smuffle  [author] 21 Oct, 2018 @ 4:06am
Im not sure, I think it will be fine as it measures distance to beds. Test it out.
Far-Seeker 20 Oct, 2018 @ 10:28am
Can these be put in doorways, or will it not be recognized as in a room?
Jaxx - pshoooo 19 Oct, 2018 @ 6:52pm
thank you!!
Smuffle  [author] 19 Oct, 2018 @ 8:54am
Now updated to 1.0
Jaxx - pshoooo 18 Oct, 2018 @ 5:32pm

<texPath>Things/Building/Furniture/Bed/HospitalBed</texPath>

That will change the graphic, but you may also want to change the blueprint graphic.
PKobra 19 Sep, 2018 @ 11:53am
i want to change how it looks, i wanted to make it look like the paved tile, can you tell me witch line of code i need to change to make that happen?
Smuffle  [author] 4 Sep, 2018 @ 11:55am
I don't think that would make sense in regards to the purpose of "comfort" which I made it. It is not supposed to heat a room in a cold climate, it is supposed to give that nice feeling when you place your feet on a heated bathroom floor etc.
A Kobold 4 Sep, 2018 @ 11:40am
Think Cooling cables can be on the list? Cuz, y'know, I like to play as fluffy nomadic space raptors that drink straight Amonia.
Smuffle  [author] 1 Sep, 2018 @ 8:40am
Yes, it is possible, but fairly OP unless I increase the cost as well. Also, it would raise the question if I should make a new item for it or not.
Urist 1 Sep, 2018 @ 8:30am
Can there be a stronger version, that can serve instead of singular heaters? I would like to heat my base by drawing heating cables through the walls,, so i don't need to place heaters (or coolers) anymore. You think that would be possible?
Smuffle  [author] 31 Aug, 2018 @ 1:07pm
Now updated to B19.
Smuffle  [author] 4 Feb, 2018 @ 5:46pm
@bearhiderug Thank you, glad you like it.
Depleted 27 Jan, 2018 @ 7:25am
Oh ok, thanks! So it acts kinda like a dresser or end table but can heat the room, i like it.
cheers G.
Smuffle  [author] 27 Jan, 2018 @ 7:19am
@Depleted The idea was to create easy accessible comfort bonus to a room, that doesn't take the space and varies from the resources used in dressers and end tables.

There really isn't much too it, it is just a comfort mod, made because I personally wanted it.
Depleted 27 Jan, 2018 @ 5:55am
why use this over a heater? I'm just curious as to why you'd really need/want this mod?

what are le pros and cons?
Smuffle  [author] 27 Jan, 2018 @ 1:49am
The heating cables are usually beneath the floor, but you are right, it really has little to do with beauty, and if there are many who disagree with my decision, I will reduce the beauty modifier, or remove it all together.
Omega13 26 Jan, 2018 @ 9:34pm
Because everyone loves the subtle beauty of exposed wiring on their bedroom floor.
Bistou 26 Jan, 2018 @ 8:11pm
Comfort yes but why would it give beauty ? if it was a mat or something maybe but just a cable hanging on the floor is not beautifull...
