Do you think you could add toucans as part of the animal list? I (on a whim) was searching for mods that have toucans, and there's not a single one. I figured they would be a good fit for the tropical island motif.

@Zovael As far as I know they are compatible, especially Vanilla Animals Extended. None of the animals will show up on the Islands, but otherwise should be fine!

Very neat stuff! Hope it doesn't end up incompatible with Alpha Biomes or Vanilla Animals Extended though, 'cus all this stuff would make quite a diverse and cozy planet together. :lunar2019piginablanket:

I'd love an underwater base! I do wonder how you'd implement it with the core scenarios though. Short of dropping with some sort prefab building to prevent instant drowning, I'd be a bit stumped. It would certainly be tricky to do a tribal start!

should make like a space biome. Like a tear in the fabric of time kinda place. I think it would be interesting and new to see in this type of game, giving that it dosnt really have much space traval in it to exsplore with.

@BouncyBoi Yeah, that was likely Rainbeau. He made islands out of vanilla biome gens. As far as I know that was the extent of it.

that would give a big use to caravans because if your in a tribe you could get guns or armor or you could just get good loot

core first then caverns, put core after the vanilla game core :D if you have any other mods that you want active, i recommend putting them after biomes (caverns)

i am really looking forward to the finished product. i have no experience with coding, but if you want i can playtest in development functions, don't care about losing saves anyways :D

although i do hope that they will make it so that all universal functions end up in core, and optional ends up in the other packages :D

Ey @Anima i am pretty sure that the reason the core and cavern mods require each other, is due to 2 things, 1 the core mod provides no biomes, just the core code and framework, and

2 , if they plan to add other biomes (wich i am sure they will) they will add them just like the cavern, in seperate packages, so that you can choose wich you like.

the core mod is probably not freshed out or bug free enough to contain some of the files of the cavern mod to function properly... hope that explains it a bit.

To add on my other idea, there would be an opposite. Almost 0 rocks, but half the ground is rich soil.

Lol, cool. I have another suggestion: Make it so you can put down a drill platform and actually go underground. And have several layers : Upper underground layer. Where you can find abondened mines, and nests of different species of insects, middle underground layer where you can find lots of ores, and bones. And maybe even a special biome with prehistoric flora and and dinosaur like creatures, and and lower underground layer where you're so close to the center of the planet that you can come across lava geisers, and can roast marshmallows, And add some nasty lava creatures like an actuall living boneworm.

Please make the ocean a cool place: Add some island clusters, salty oceans, warm oceans, cold oceans with small patches of ice or icebergs, undeep waters, and make us able to go into there with scuba, or submarines and have a great advantage in these areas. Just a sugestion though

figured I'd note that in steam workshop it says that cavern mod that goes with 'biomes! core' is required for the core mod to function. Not sure if that's supposed to be the case, as both mods have said they require the other.

obviously cavern mod should require the core, but it seems odd to me that the core relies on the sub-mod to function as well...
