it would be more immersive and manageable if they just transforms at night or something. also i dont like the destroyed gear... it makes sense but it is seriously annoying its not really hardcore it just makes you have to go back in saves every once in a while
Nøcturnus Wrathmaw 7 Jan, 2016 @ 1:28pm
Turns you randomly into a werewolf and gear gets destroyed after you turn back and your not even a werewolf.......Not lore friendly and i dislike that my gear gets destroyed
orthrus03 7 Dec, 2015 @ 12:11pm
wow this mod looks and sounds kinda weird, hardcore or not.
LOL
Narrian 2 Dec, 2015 @ 12:14pm
Sorry for asking a probably stupid question =/ .... when you download this mod .... does it automatically turn you into a werewolf (that is how I understand the description). Or does it just change the rules of being a werewolf?
Soron66 24 Sep, 2015 @ 1:03pm
can you make a version where you won't die when you are a werewolf if you didn't kill enough people? I ask cause i accidentally turned into a werewolf where there was only one dude and i killed him then died.
Hondo 2 Sep, 2015 @ 10:46pm
i love this mod thank you
Treefacts 8 May, 2015 @ 5:01pm
Losing all your gear is a part of the mod. Description from the nexusmods page:
- Changing DESTROYS ALL your gear. All of it. For item hoarders I have added a Global Variable, which you can manipulate if you wish to come back at your precious stuff. Just use console command "set ImACrybaby to 1". Your stuff is stored to a large sack on your feet when you transform.

Timothy Mouse 14 Jan, 2014 @ 10:06am

DeadRyu 27 Dec, 2013 @ 5:17pm
lol we all feel hunger thats not why its called a curse it's called a curse because the people you kill and eat while transformed you remeember the entire thing and its not a big deal to killers and murders but people that dont want to nor like killing random people for no reason thats why they call it a curse
The Garf Zone 11 Dec, 2013 @ 8:09pm

Ulti 3 Dec, 2013 @ 1:36pm
I think this mod is a great idea. and its normaly a very good mod, but at the moment its not usefull because ist really bugy. for example when i change in a werewolf, i am simply nacked and nothing happens anymore and sometimes i simply die. please fix that
Bear 24 Nov, 2013 @ 1:03pm
What exactly does this mod do? ((The discription is unclear))
Blackhealer 18 Nov, 2013 @ 1:34pm
Great idea, Try doing something like a Alpha wolf, it bites one person.. they bite another... and make it a spredding thing.. that would be cool
TrishB 9 Nov, 2013 @ 10:24pm
We encountered a small problem while testing this, mod, we are not 100% sure it is linked to this mod, but once our hunger got to starving and we transformed we had a ball killing everyone waited to turn back and when we did we where naked and had nothing on us, we lost every item we owned, thought we should let you know :)
A`den-K`al 2 Nov, 2013 @ 2:18pm
you turn at midnight when the full moon is at its peak
BasicSupernova 21 Sep, 2013 @ 11:02am
when do you turn?
"Toofless" Tony Ogliacci 11 Aug, 2013 @ 11:15am
I'm not sure why, but I'm stuck at 1/1 health after turning into a werewolf shortly before I assaulted that keep with Aela. Might have bugged because of SM Essential Player, as I did die shortly afterwards. Not sure. How can I fix this? Reloading saves isn't an option, as I'm dumb enough to only keep one player save. :/
Hellish Cyberdemon 23 Jul, 2013 @ 2:56pm
@curlydelaney dude its REALLY HARD to script im trying to but its really hard for gmod why dont u give it a try and see how easy it is this dude is better than me
Majestic killer chicken 7 Jul, 2013 @ 9:27am
dude y not make it easier. you can only get cursed by a werewolf by getting attack by somebody that got attacked by 1. ways to get curse get attacked by a werewolf. the curse spereads dude add that k.
Odval 4 Apr, 2013 @ 10:27am
Yea that was because u need the werewolf abilty No Werewolf abilty U die. Lol so yes it does work
Dovaah 23 Jul, 2012 @ 1:01pm
Never mind, I went back several saves and it somehow reset it and it works. @TrevComix No, from what I've seen, it tells you "The beast within you needs to feed on either your victims or your soul...", something like that. And the more it says it, the more your HP decreases- it even bypasses the console's God Mode command.
Dovaah 23 Jul, 2012 @ 9:27am
Commence crying. It doesn't work...oh how I wish I could cuss on here. HOW HARD IS IT?????!!!!!!!
Dovaah 22 Jul, 2012 @ 10:59pm
If this mod doesn't work, I'm gonna cry. Is it really so hard to make a mod that scripts you to turn each night? Bethesda had no problem doing it when they made Bloodmoon.
Cooking Utensils 8 Jul, 2012 @ 9:27am
Yeah but does it force you into werewolf form at night or do you still have to use it as a power?
trekkies3 27 Jun, 2012 @ 2:56pm
SPOILER WARNING NEEDED!!!!! Didn't know about companions quest chain - thanx for ruining the suprize. :(
SIN._ 5 May, 2012 @ 5:05pm
I'm completely unable to actually reach that site, it keeps taking me to an adult content page, and despite the fact that I have been a long-standing member of the site it continues to prohibit me from actually seeing that page. The fawk.

HOW DO YOU TRANSFORM INTO A WEREWOLF
Fennica  [author] 25 Feb, 2012 @ 3:14am
This mod (with new versions) is now found at http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/downloads/file.php?id=11028 as well.
Fennica  [author] 25 Feb, 2012 @ 2:02am
Search now seems to work ("curse" found), but I still can't upload a new version. Steam Support answered me, but their solution didn't work. I'll talk more with them about the issue.
irocziv 24 Feb, 2012 @ 2:40pm
agree with Pish Posh on the search thing, earlier I was looking for a werewolf mod and this one didn't come up, strangly it came up when I searched for compass though :P
Fennica  [author] 24 Feb, 2012 @ 12:26am
Cannot update the mod ATM, I get an error message "Failed to update the mod file on Steam! Steam error 9". I have contacted Steam support.
Fennica  [author] 23 Feb, 2012 @ 3:35am
OK, I think I found the bug - at least I fixed it to work on my characters. The problem occured if the PC has joined the Companions, but didn't have the beast blood by them yet. There was an IF in the original game scripts that checked that if the PC is in the Companions, but haven't changed yet (variable PlayerIsWerewolfVirgin). I changed the logic there a bit and now it should work.

Could you confirm that your character has indeed joined the Companions, but hasn't received their gift of blood yet (= you don't have Beast Form -ability)? Also please confirm that the bug is gone for you too, or, if not, please give me more information about your character so I can try to repeat your problem.

Thank you for testing.
Fennica  [author] 23 Feb, 2012 @ 2:42am
You're right - I just re-tested this with characters I haven't tested before and get the same bug as you. It seems to change with some, but not with others. I have usually just done a new char and that's why it slipped thru my fingers. I'll take a look at this.

I don't recall me saying anything about getting infected? Must be some other mod? When you load this mod, your character will be "infected" for that moment on. If you unload the mod later, but use the saves you made with the mod, some features are still persistent, like lowered health. So always do separate "save-trees" as with any mods.

I kinda wondered the same about not finding this mod with ANY keywords... Problem is, that I don't know if I can actually influence that in any way? I haven't found any way to put keywords on search and other searches seem to use the description, but mine just doesn't seem to work. Oh well, I'm not for publicity any way, but if some of you finds a solution for this, I'd still preciate that. =)
Pish Posh 22 Feb, 2012 @ 11:01pm
Just wanted to notify you of these bugs. When loading up another character (that wasn't infected), at dusk I got the changing effect, but nothing physically happened to my character. Everyone did, however turn hostile and try to kill me. Also, I was naked. The other one is that you say that you need to get infected in order to start the curse mod however when starting a new character I didn't need to do anything and I was already infected with the curse. I was ok with that as that's what I wanted for the character, but I'm not sure that was the intention.

I've also tried searching for your mod with keywords "werewolf" and "curse" and it came up with nothing. If you want more people to check out this mod, I'd suggest putting those as keywords to give your mod some publicity. Keep up the good work.
Fennica  [author] 22 Feb, 2012 @ 3:18pm
Random transformation simulates the unstableness of the mind of the beast. While the game cannot fully determine the PC's emotions, it uses a system like this. There's pain, of course, which usually turns to anger and that means shifting into the beast. Why I really wanted to implement it, is because it enhances the feeling of the curse. Player can get ready for shifting at nightfall and when he takes damage, but there's no way to foretell the random transformations...

I got the basic idea from the very Cursed Ring of Hircine, but that randomness was too little for me.

Anyway, I played alot this mod of mine today and came to conclusion that maybe I'll do a Global Variable for the random chance value, so players can adjust (console command "SET x TO n") it to their liking. That should be easy to do as well, so stay tuned. I'll probably add more Global Variables in the future.

Thanks for constructive feedback.
Pish Posh 22 Feb, 2012 @ 10:01am
Man, great mod. Everything is what I was wanting and more except for the random changing. Is that part of some lore or something? You seem to be pretty strict on what goes in so I'm curious where that's from. I don't mind all the clothes/weapons/items disappearing, or being tracked down by the silver hand, etc. That all makes everything feel like a true curse, but the random transformations makes doing anything else in the game near impossible. In any case, nice work man.
Berien KorGlaens 21 Feb, 2012 @ 7:24am
After a few hours playing, I must say it's a great way of playing...
The food requirement and having to take care about cold are very nice by themselves and could deserve an independant mod :P

About visual effects, actually I wrote that before playing enough to see the messages and I was afraid to have to check my spell effects every five minutes... Messages do the job perfectly :)

You deserve a big : "Thank you for this mod" :)
Fennica  [author] 21 Feb, 2012 @ 1:27am
@Joshua: Good idea, I'll take that up. I have to think about the skeletons tho... =)

@Korglaens: Detect Life is already on wishlist and I'm gonna do it sometime soon. There are visual signals in form of text output already, but giving a flash or something like that could be nicer, yes. I have to get into that.

@Destrteiur: Need to kill is monitored by Magicka when you're in beast form. I think that you ate ppl like 12 in a row and then you went passive? If you stay 3 hours without feeding, you will die. So; if you want to live and get some sleep - feed and wait for 2 hours. If you don't change back, feed again and wait. Eventually, you'll change back. Avoid feeding ppl if you're full - you should preserve your victims until you actually need to eat them. Otherwise it's like devouring them for nothing but the taste.

I'll update the info above regarding all of your comments.
JoshuaCaleb 20 Feb, 2012 @ 7:40pm
@Fennica Another Idea I just thought of: Feeding on an npc should at least strip them of all their armor, if not their flesh too (they turn into skeletons;)
Berien KorGlaens 20 Feb, 2012 @ 3:09pm
I like the idea even if I won't be as hardcore than you (I coudn't help changing timescale after a moment :p )

I've Just started to play with your mod and havent't noticed any incompatibility with other installed mods I had previously installed. Though I couldn't launch the game (no access to game menu / black screen) before deactivating then reactivating all other mods. I've tried to reproduce the problem without success so I don't have a clue about what caused this.

Suggestions :
- what about a Detect Life effect while being transformed ? I assume these beast don't really care about what they kill, they just seek for these smelly and juicy lifeforms that attracts them :)
- any way to make a visual signal when hunger / sleep status change (flash, blur or other) ?
76561198050148403 20 Feb, 2012 @ 2:24pm
Ok, so I've been rampaging for a good while now and would like to transform back to get some sleep. When I wait for an hour I die. When I stand around and wait manually, I die. I've fed on every victim so I wouldn't die to the starvation damage, so I've extended my werewolf form by a few hours. So uhhhh...Any attempt to become a human again apparantly kills me. Am I a werewolf forever now?
76561198050148403 20 Feb, 2012 @ 2:20pm
>f jailed and served time, you'll die to starvation. Yeah it's realistic, but still sucks, no?

I lol'd.
Fennica  [author] 20 Feb, 2012 @ 12:45pm
@Duntorah: I updated the description now a bit regarding your question. You must kill every 3 hours WHEN you're in beast form (mainly at nights). When you're in human form, there's no need to kill, only to eat food.
Carpet 20 Feb, 2012 @ 12:41pm
I think only changing at night is enough. ( i played the morrowind add on and there it was realy a curse ..and that was only at night) but i like this mod will try it when i start over :D
KlepticKenku 20 Feb, 2012 @ 12:00pm
"- You must kill every 3 hours, or the beast consumes you within. Consider waiting 2 hours, kill, feed, repeat."

So, does that make you permanantley a werewolf? Or what?
