Hey is there anyway I can get my hands on these models? Been trying to find some good quality models from the prime trilogy and would love to get my hands on these for some modding I want to try.

NinjaRipper and Dolphin... I bet I could use those to port over the Berserker Knight and Berserker Lord models. By the way, Generic Worm has the Metroid Prime sounds now. A few days back, I sent him the files. Now I feel he's gonna do his part to help me accomplish my goal. If you wanna participate, go for it!

when I did these I didnt have access to tools like URDE, so I used NinjaRipper and Dolphin to emulate and rip the models

Sometimes I wish I knew how to port models AND animations from all 3 Prime games to Gmod. I already have Blender, and I have ported a model from Banjo-Tooie to Gmod before, but unfortunately, it ended up a prop with no animation whatsoever. The model I ported was a Gobgoyle.

Thanks. Flarespire. Plus, I'm a sound nerd, and already got my hands on a lot of sound effects from all 3 prime games. (Sound from the first two are already available on Sounds Resource, and as for the third, Prime World Editor version 1.2.7 and Audacity Gamecube DSPADPCM v2.3.0 can help with that.)

its possible as long as the skeletal rigs conform to the limitations of the source engine (max of 128 bones IIRC)

I'm not sure how long that'll take, but I was talking to Generic Worm about having Metroid Prime SNPCs created. Not to mention, time flies, so no matter how long it takes, I'll be waiting patiently...

it'll happen eventually, look up the URDE project, currently only supports prime 1 but they are working on it.

Well since I pretty muched covered all the beams there wasn't much of that video left to do. When I get back to it I might redo it completely or just finish it. Either way I'll keep the footage. Just incase.

I've been planning on trying to make a mod for Fallout: New Vegas with Metroid Arm Cannons. I think I remember asking something similar a few years back when I was a young dingus with like, no modding skill, though.

It's a cartoony remake of MP3's HUD. Though it isn't typical goofy Gmod stuff I thought the style would suit the effects in video. What do you think?

Ok good news this time. Since I'm more or less done with my other Gmod project I'm now able to focus more on the Arm Cannon animation. Also with this animaton not being 17 minutes it won't take as long either. Still don't know when it'll be finished though.

Hey remember when this didn't seem like it would take forever... Probably not. Regardless I'd like to apolagise for the lack of communication on my part. Though that is partially due to not much happening since the other animation project that was meant to be 10 minutes is now 14 minutes and ongoing. The only reason I've been so focused on that is because I'm approaching the end.

And then I can finally finish this project! Christ this is like the gap between Super Metroid and Prime. If it's any conselation I have been updating what I've done so far to make sure the quality is consistent. And it won't take nearly as long as the one I'm working on now. Lastly... I'm sorry you've had to wait this long.

Right just a quick update on the animation. It might have to be put on hold because A. College projects B. Another animation I'm still trying to finish and C. I don't want to rush it. Hopefully it won't be put off for too long though. Anyway that's all really. I just wanted to tell you so your not left uninformed.

TBH my job has been keeping me very busy with its inconsistant off days and hours, so I havent had much free time to work on things like this. yeah, im aware that the reflections may be different, this is by choice, as im emulating the old spheremap shaders of the GC & Wii in the source engine. However, the work you have done is really good and solid.

Hi again I wanted to ask you if me animating the arm cannon extending in photoshop was a good idea, since the video is meant to be advertising the models. Don't get the wrong idea I am using the models, since if I were to edit the arm cannon frame by frame in a fast pace action scene this would take forever. It's just all the close ups of the beam changing are done in photoshop because the refections on the MP3 Varia Suit arm cannon have different reflections to your models.

By the way (and I don't mean to harras you in any way). How are the missle models comming along? It's just I don't know whether it would be best to wait for them to be added or just animate them in Photoshop.

Thats a rather odd issue, I can do a little testing myself and see if I get the same result. Im not sure if the reflections are causing this, but they could very well be doing it, I know on some night maps they can make the models look a little brighter than they should, it might just be the map's lighting and envmap nodes trying to override the vmt settings for the cubes, like I said ill give it a look over.

Ok I'm not surer if it can be fixed and this isn't really a problem just more of a heads up. The arm cannon models on certain maps looks like they're outright glowing. I'm guessing this is to do with the reflections but I'm going to pretend like I know what I'm talking about. The map in the screenshots is city 08, there are other maps where this happens though. I've seen this happen with plenty other addons so if this is unavoidable then I understand.

Ok, so, I've tinkered with the cubemaps on the models a bit more, hopefully these look a little more akin to what we would see on the gamecube & wii games, some feedback on how they look would be appretiated. Also, work on the missile modes is coming along.

I can probably do a mock up of both prime 1 & 2's missile modes, ill need to study the view model when in that mode first though
