Non of the chars have files for the main game + every dlc.
It's just 2-3 of the folders for every voice pack.
If you got just 1 folder e.g. left4dead2_dlc2 something was wrong during the download or extraction process.
As it is the same process for all characters i think it's a better place for them.
Thanks for the comments and feedback
They changed the way different files are accessable in game and add ~10 files for Team JNPR
The only voice replace from my pack which was not working after the update is Ren's. I already updated it so its working again.
Unfortunately you have to install the vpk again as it won't auto-update this voice-replace on your system.
Additional i recommend to reinstall l4d2 in general as this might fixes many issues with new textures/sound files and of course mods.

(Even though I'm not a fan of RWBY I would rather just install mods until I could replace the stock car with a tank)
I just have to seperate them because they would be to big combined for the official uploader tool.
Most easy way is (if you want the complete voice replace),
-> subscripe to every item
-> unpack every vpk
-> copy them all into one temporary folder (so you have left4dead2, left4dead2_dlc1, left4dead2_dlc2, left4dead2_dlc3 folders in this temporary one).
-> copy the content of this temporary folder into your main l4d2 folder
If you have done eveything right it will ask to overwrite your files.
If it don't ask abort the copyprocess. Then something is at the wrong place.
So If I'm installing multiple ones (those in your collection), do I have to do something different? Ya instructions are kinda confusing
Maybe cleaning your steam cache could work.
As L4D2 and all of its functions build also for mac i'm pretty sure the sndrebuildaudiocache should work. But i can't guarantee
Also it's the workshop folder not showing that VPK, just the image, so I can recognize why it is missing.
Might be a general problem, but thanks anyway
You need to start the game once after dowloading so the files are copied to the workshop folder, if this is not working its a general problem not connected to this workshopitem.
In l4d2 itself it doesnt matter if its showing up or not, or if you activate it in l4d2 or not.
I never used mac so i can't help with mac related issues, sorry.
(Also, downloading random mods is my passion, and the only ones that I can't get working with is those sound mods since my mac has no GCF, I had to do it on another windows computer)
It's much work to change the data, you have to look for every of Ellis and louis sound files, together around 5000 and check which names are equal and which ones you have to rename.
Where do you have problems along the steps i wrote in the description?
If this is working try the audiocache rebuild again.
If nothing works, maybe you have a conflict with other sound mod files.... or your game language is not english.
I tried to cut these things as good as possible, but due to the way l4d2 handles audio files it's sometimes not possible to cut out every noise without cutting the voice line directly. But i will try to optimize it with the next update.
You get a root folder with some "left4dead2" folders.
Right klick on root and extract all files to the location you want.
After this follow the steps 3-5 from above.
After this you have to locate your L4D2 folder ...\Steam\steamapps\common\Left 4 Dead 2\left4dead2\addons\workshop
All VPK's from the workshop are in this folder.
please help.many thanks.
