The asari don't really have an audio effect so I won't be making a voice pack for them.
You can probably use a good female voice pack on the workshop and that should make for a good stand-in.
Thank you so much!
I posted a Quarian tutorial in the discussions section. It's kind of effect heavy, but it's not too bad once you get into it.
There are two methods in the tutorial so use whichever one you prefer. Text tutorials are kind of hard to follow so let me know if something does not make sense and I'll try to clarify.
Yeah I need help with quarian. It doesn't sound like it's just a highpass.
Probably not. I was looking into things, but none of them really panned out. Plus, I don't really mod much nowadays.
@Magic Sam
Well, that's unfortunate. Any race you needed help with in particular?
The Salarian voice was one of my first voice mods so it didn't turn out too great. The voice I used in particular was kinda slow paced so I should have went for a faster tempo. A higher pitch might also have been an option, but I was already on that chipmunk line.
I had plans to do a better Salarian voice, but real life stuff came up so I don't know if I'll have time to get around to it.
Finished:
Audio Editing (applying the effect to the voices)
Remaining:
Quality Assurance (checking audio levels, making sure lines make sense etc.)
Dev Tool Stuff
Making the video preview
ETA: A couple more weeks to a month
I got an idea for that, but I'm not really modding right now (too busy playing other games) so it might take a while. I'll try to release a Krogan sounding voice pack before N7 day, but no promises.
Short answer: see the last FAQ question
Longer answer: I don't know how to do a good batarian voice effect and I haven't found a good tutorial. Plus, I don't know if I would have enough free time to put it together.
Sorry, I don't really do those kinds of voicepack mods. I mostly apply an audio effect to existing voicebanks to make them sound more like one of the mass effect alien races.
You can try to nicely ask another XCOM 2 modder to make a Tela Vasir voice pack, but one of the main problems with Tela Vasir is that she doesn't have a lot of voice lines to make a voice pack out of.
The asari don't really have a voice effect to emulate so I won't be doing them, but there are a lot of good female voicepacks that can serve as a good stand-in for the asari.
Do you have one of the mass effect aliens in mind? I'm working on another quarian male voice right now, but I can look into putting an effect on Michael Ironside's voice after I'm done. (I'm not going to do drell though. That effect is a nightmare.)
p.s. Isn`t it funny how for Aliens they all sound just like Humans but with a slightly gravelly voice and fit Xcom 2 fine.
