However, I suspect there might be another way around this limitation: What if you made a fractional part of a wheel that could be assembled into a wheel? A 4x2 wheel made from 4 identical 90° sections could have square hole that's almost 3 blocks wide. If made from 8 45º pieces, it could have an octagonal hole almost 4 blocks wide.

Do you think such a wheel would have any issues functioning as a wheel?

We can't make concave collision :( The only thing we can do is to make the wheel model wider than the collision. I made some wheels like that in the sporty wheel modpack ;) try it out!

Okay. I see now that these wheels and tires don't work that way. So, to my original comment: a hollow tire paired with a wheel cover would allow you to put the steering joint inside the wheel. It would greatly simplify suspension and steering on many builds.

It just occurred to me that maybe I could use the tires for that.

Can you make a hubless wheel that has no collision in the center?
I ask because I could pair it with a wheel cover, and use that to put the steering joint inside the wheel.

This would give you center point steering without the controllers and bearings you would otherwise need.

Does this mod crash anybody elses game? It keep saying there was a conflicting id with this mod and this mod.

This is cool Im curious is it possible to make a wheel that has no collision but still has weight I ask because I have seen people make gyros using block but I saw one build that used a 5x1 wheel for the spinning gyro effect and it worked very well but if we had a set of wheels like 5x1 7x1 and 9x1 that had no collision except for the middle 1 block in size that still had the weight of the full tire it could be very usefull especially if glitch stabilizers were ever fixed but i dont know if it is possible to do

i mean as if you had studs or that the pattern on the wheels had no colision, so it looked like the groves were digging in to the ground.

Non collision studs? I'm not sure what u mean but this are just normal wheels. I've made some low collision wheels in the sporty wheel modpack :)

did you follow my tip of having non-colision studs on them?
