Love this series, man. Thanks for making these. Are they all working just fine after all Firaxis's updates and fiddles?
Unpillagable sounds ok, if no way to adjust the repair time to be reasonable, although being able to pillage these is sometimes a nice gameplay touch for both player and AI.
Cheers for the damn good mods.
I like this mod, and i want to play in my natal language. I don't sppeak a good english but i can understrand it. If you wan't, i can translate if in french if you send me the a file text. Ad me in steam if you want, and i send you my e-mail adress. :)
Thanks for this mod. :)
Meanwhile, Wiki quotes this from his biographer, Capra, about his gifts as a great engineer: "He made substantial discoveries in anatomy, civil engineering, geology, optics, and hydrodynamics, but he did not publish his findings, and they had no direct influence on later science."
The important point being, he did not publish any of his writing about subjects having to do with engineering and did not influence the development of engineering.
Thus, Leonardo is far better known as a great painter (a field where he made substantial contributions) than as a great engineer (a field where his contribution is questionable at best).
All of that said, if you don't like the mod, don't use it.
???
Thats retarded, please do some research.
@[SSC Borealis], we encountered the same issue that you had with the Banu Musa. The problem occurs if your nation has built the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus due to how the mod is implemented. We're still searching for a solution. At this point, all I can say is, if you've built the Mausoleum, you should pass on the Banu Musa because they will not work.
We did not want scientific works to theme with cultural works. We also didn't want to make library slots that hold great works of writing (that would make them like amphitheaters). Thus, we made the great science and engineering works non-theming relics instead even though it is possible to make them just like the great works of writing with benefits other than culture/tourism (that's what we tried first, and we didn't like the resulting mix with the culture books).
First, it works. I have no idea why it didnt work the first time.
Second, the great scientists always gave the works.
Third, it cant be a mod conflict: it worked after i activated even more mods and didnt deactivated any.
And fourth, this is more like an idea, the great works these people give are yet artifacts. But i think they are more suited to be writings? Like, the "Book of Ingenious Devices" seems more of a book rather than an artifact. I know this is somehow possible, the "rule with faith" mod by JFD gives a new writing as well.
Hi MigGui, We can back Fleming's reward down. +5 is a bit high, especially if you have the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus. Yeah, when we saw where they had DaVinci we were like, you took a man who is considered by many to be the greatest artist who ever lived and you put him where?
Btw, thank you for moving Da Vinci to great artist, although probably one of the most versatile geniouses of all time, Da Vinci is way more popular as an artist than as an inventor. Best case scenario for me would be him being both, but that is obviously nonsensical :P
The two engineers you've mentioned were individuals who pursued space-related careers, so it was difficult to think of something for them to do that wasn't focused on the space race. For that reason, we removed them and included people like Gutenberg, Brunel, and the Banu Musa instead.
The aim was to make it so any player would be happy to earn the person rather than having people grudgingly take a great person only to stop an opponent from achieving a space race victory. We avoided complete space-racer elimination by leaving Korolev (in spite of the temptation to remove him too).
